My three friends from college and I revisit the state where we went to school together every year. Recently we settled on Manchester as our favorite town to come together annually ... and now we have found our favorite place to stay!
The owner was responsive and friendly, the property was perfect for hunkering down and catching up and eating and sleeping in, while being so close to amazing restaurants like the Silver Fork, lots of outlet shopping, the Equinox spa, and our favorite excursion, hours spent in the Northshire Bookstore.
Can't wait to come back!
We had the best time in this welcoming home in Vermont. The weather was perfect October resplendent which helped a lot but and the house had us in the perfect location to enjoy it. Loved that we could hike from the house. Absolutely go see Equinox Pond. Much land to explore. We also hosted the family for dinner on Saturday night and the house made for the ideal entertaining space. Concluded our evening by the fire pit - perfection. Would stay again next time I am in the area for sure. And the dogs LOVED it too. THANK YOU!
We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. We thoroughly enjoyed the classic Vermont feel of this property. We didn’t end up using the guest house as there was room for us all in the main house. We were in the area to ski at Bromley and liked the proximity to both the mountain and town.
Went to VT to celebrate my birthday with my family. I was over the moon with this home. Every amenity you could possibly hope for. My daughter especially liked the little reading nook off of the living room. It allowed her her privacy but still allowed room for family engagement. The open air concept allowed for a great vibe.
The leaves were popping and the setting was magical. The host was extremely wonderful and answered questions immediately.
I couldn’t think of a better place that I would want to enjoy the beauty of Vermont for ANY season.
The neighborhood was exceptional. Our morning walk was a dream. Plenty to do and see In Manchester! This is a MUST GO place!
The property is beautiful with a perfect balance of Vermont rustic tones and modern conveniences. We stayed with our large family 10 adults and 4 children all under 5 years old. There was plenty of room to spread out and satisfy privacy needs with the master bed/bath on the main floor, 2 bedrooms and bath on the second floor, a bedroom at driveway level and a mother-in-law type suite over the garage with a private bathroom and refrigerator. The location is walking distance to historic Manchester and hiking trails that loop around a nearby pond and the summit of Equinox Mountain for those looking to do more. The lawn is sprawling allowing plenty of room for kids to run and play and for the whole family to gather around the fire pit for smores. Loved it!
We have stayed at this home twice and have been very pleased both times. The hosts have been communicative and the house is lovely. We especially enjoyed the fire pit.
House lived up to all its photos. Beautiful big green lawn for 5 and 7-year-old boys to run and play, and a great pond for them to explore. The house is charming, furnished with child-friendly antiques and lots of bed options. Location is on a lovely tree-lined road central to Manchester and all its attractions. We would definitely book it again in the future!
We rented this house for our wedding weekend. It seemed like the perfect location since my then fiancée/now wife and I could stay in the unit over the garage and our larger family could use the rooms in the big house. It couldn't have been a better arrangement. The house was spacious, comfortable and loaded with everything you'd need for cooking, grilling and playing. We can't imagine a better spot for such an unforgettable weekend.
We had a mini family reunion here for a long weekend and the house was perfect for that...one bedroom in the basement, the master on the main floor, 2 upstairs and 1 above the garage gave everyone plenty of room to spread out and the deck setup is wonderful, with a beautiful view! The fire pit was out of commission, which was not a big deal because it was better just to sit up on the raised deck. We were going to stay at the Taconic and we are really glad we stayed here. David was great to deal with and clearly cares about the condition of his property.
We had such a wonderful week and are missing being at this perfect house! Just to name a few — The awesome kitchen and all its amenities, the luxurious shower in the master bath, the overall layout, the huge expanse of lawn to run around with the dog and kids, the fire pit (I may have had more than my share of s’mores). I really could go on . . . Being so close to Manchester Center with all its shops and restaurants was also a tremendous bonus! Oh and the great selection of books and games in the upstairs hall! Thank you for letting us make your wonderful house our home for a week.
Loved the location of the house. The house was beautiful and kept in great condition. We loved the fire pit and views of the mountain. The only negative is that the location is not as remote as it looks in the listing. You are close to neighbors, but we had no issue with them or them with us
What a lovely home that hosted our entire extended family. Open floor plan with a chef kitchen allowed us to be all together and enjoy a family meal by a fire. Then we had our privacy in spacious and spotless bedrooms. During the day we sat outside on a spacious deck while admire the views or took a short walk to trails. You’re a quick drive to downtown for restaurants and shopping. In the evening we all sat around the fire pit. I wouldn’t change a thing about this house. We plan to go back yearly.
The property, location, and house were great for our large adult family. We had a wonderful time and will be back.

We are a family of five from the Boston area. We fell in love with Manchester at the first sight and decided to make it our happy place away from home to relax and spend quality time together. Because of its unique floor plans, we knew right away the Harley House was the perfect house to welcome family and friends. We are very happy to share our special place with you.
