About this property

We are located beachfront on the Delaware Bay in amazing Prime Hook Beach. We are a little north of Lewes and Rehoboth. The cottage is a comfortably furnished, relaxing, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home that sleeps 8 people. The home has amazing water views from almost every room. Two bedrooms have a queen sized bed, dresser and closet. The third bedroom is a much larger family sleeping room with a queen bed, 2 twin beds and a very comfortable couch that converts into a queen sized bed. There is a pac-n-play available. The area is perfect for nature enthusiasts with so much nature all around. This is the perfect place to hike, bike, fish, kayak or just enjoy the very quiet, mostly private beach right out your back door. (There are two kayaks at the house - a single and a double as well as two stand up paddleboards). The beach on the Delaware Bay is generally much calmer than the ocean beaches a little south. If you are looking for more intense waves the beaches of Cape Henlopen and Rehoboth are about a 25-30 minute drive. The restaurants/bars of Rehoboth, Lewes, Milton and Milford are close by as are the Rehoboth boardwalk and outlet shops. Golf, charter fishing and water sports available in several close locations. Several restaurants, a library, a theater, grocery store, liquor store and some other closer shops are available in the nearby town of Milton- approximately 8 miles away. This home has been a very popular rental with excellent reviews (The Yellow Cottage) and is now under new ownership. *We did add an outdoor flood light/security camera at the front of the house which covers the parking area to the street. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Very enjoyable vacation lication.

The location and view are amazing. We had a lot of wind while we were their, but still had a very nice stay. The house was cleen and very well accommodating. The open space of the house while still having separate spaces was very nice. All the extras were very nice also. My family enjoyed a nice bike ride around to see Prime Hook. The beach access is also very convenient. Comunication with property manager was quick and easy. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful stay

This was our 3rd time at Prime Hook and this location was by far the best in all aspects...number one being the view from the deck. Was surprised at the amenities we found at the house. Could really just take your clothing, drinks and food and almost everything else was surprisingly there! Would highly recommend Anne & Jim and their wonderful home!

Relax in Comfort at a Peaceful Beach!!

Year after year its the place to get away to catch up on relaxation with the comfort and cleanliness that you can count on!! Not to mention all the perks that come with beautiful scenery of a quiet and peaceful beach!! We have found ourselves returning to this abode for years, as the host are without a question at the top of the tier at providing an exceptional place to be able to enjoy a getaway! I can only recommend to make your getaway as long as you can as it never seems to matter how many nights we have booked it always flys by and never near long enough!!

Cottage by the sea

This place was perfect for our family of 4. Our 8 and 10 year olds had a great time on the beach and parents could sit on the deck and supervise. The house is fully stocked with all you need, not a single expired condiment! The view is unbeatable, check in and out was super easy, and close enough to the boardwalk to go, but far enough away that you dont have the crowds. It was clean and well maintained.

Lovely House and Quiet Location

A nice well kept older home on a remote beach location. We weren’t sure what to expect with the horseshoe crabs but you could still enjoy the beach.

Private beach with a great view

We love this house! We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the laughing gulls. Everything was clean and the house is well stocked with extras. A perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the quiet reserve. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! We’ll be back again!

Refuge hideaway

A great, clean cottage nestled in the Prime Hook Refuge right on the beach. We loved driving Prime Hook beach road enjoying the scenery and birds. Beautiful views from the living room and large deck! Easy access to local attractions. We can’t wait to come back!

Fabulous views!

Another perfectly relaxing trip- third year in a row for our family! You can’t beat the views. Plenty of space to relax, work on puzzles, and eat and a well stocked kitchen. Our kids love “their” room which has plenty of toys, books, and dvds to keep them occupied. We took lots of walks along the water and relaxed on the deck. Highly recommend, and we will be back!

The perfect location if you want peace and quiet. Just a few steps to the beach. Beautiful view of the ocean. The home was exceptional and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need or want for a stay at the beach. 3rd Year Straight, Always Satisfied!!

Just the overall perfect cozy cottage to stay in to get away from it all, while enjoying the right on the never crowded beach with up close views of the bay!! It was exceptionally refreshing to walk in and smell the cleanliness of the cottage so A+++ to the cleaners!! We got to enjoy the breath taking sunrises over the bay, watch the dolphins swim by and even spotted a fox on the beach right in front of the cottage.Kayaks provided to take a ride on the bay makes for an even more exceptional experience!! All I can advise is to Book this place as often and for as long as you can as the time fly's by ever so quickly during your stay!!

Beachfront perks at a fair price

My family and I had an amazing stay at the Yellow Cottage. The house isn’t packed with the most modern design but my family actually preferred the look and layout to other places. The view is incredible from almost the entire house, including the inside and the great new deck. But the greatest perk was the ability to walk right out on to what almost felt like a private beach. The water was great to swim in, especially with younger kids. And it wasn’t too far to get to some of the local attractions. You just need to traverse a beautiful wildlife refuge to get to the main road! We rarely book the same place twice, but this might make that list soon!

Family Bliss

Prime Hook bay front so beautiful and property has many great beach amenities. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. Close to Rehoboth, Cape Henlopin and Lewis but great to return to Prime Hook and relax on quiet beach. Deer swimming in bay, a rainbow and rocket launch viewed at night. What more could you ask for

Great spot!

Everything about the house was great! The house was clean and the view of the bay was great. Communication from the hosts on the day of arrival was perfect. The mosquitoes were terrible. Bring plenty of insect repellent.

A yearly destination

We have been coming to Prime Hook and Broadkill for 7 years and and this place is by far our favorite. It is reminiscent of quieter times and allows a family to just enjoy the time and not be distracted by all the “extras”. But, the perfect extras here come in the form of access to kayaks, paddle boards, floats, bikes, games, books, etc. It’s the perfect respite for a family who wants to relax and just enjoy. ❤️ And the hosts are super kind, helpful and responsive with any questions!

Girls beach break

We loved our stay here. To be able to walk out to the beach was awesome. The house was really well equipped especially with all the beach fun things. We took the kayaks out and had a chance to ride bikes around the neighborhood. Because the beach is in a private area it was so quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay again.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I both grew up visiting the Maryland and Delaware shore for vacations. We have some of our best memories from those visits. I love hiking, bird watching, nature photography and everything related to the bay and ocean. My husband enjoys fishing, kayaking, walking the beach and bird watching as well. We both have a great love of beach cottages and coffee hour/cocktail hour on the water.

What makes this property unique

Prime Hook Beach is very quiet with an abundance of nature around while still being within 15-20 minutes of great restaurants, outlets and whatever activities you normally enjoy when you go to the beach. The sunrise/sunsets in Prime Hook are amazing and the bay water is much calmer than the ocean and great for smaller kids.
