This modern, 2-bedroom typical Spanish style house is located on a quiet and tranquil urbanization with gardens, communal pool and off-street parking. You’re just a 5 minute walk from bars and restaurants, a hairdresser, a small but comprehensively stocked supermarket, and – best of all - Dénia’s sandy beaches. It’s safe to swim and surf there – these beaches regularly receive the European Union Blue Flag for being some of the best and cleanest beaches in Europe. The convenient location and easy access to buses means that it’s easy to enjoy a holiday here without a car.
The house itself is charming and welcoming, built in Ibiza style with white walls, exposed bricks, wooden beams, and a fireplace. The living room and dining area are well furnished and air conditioned (hot / cold). There’s space for you to relax and enjoy the small satellite TV (with access to some English channels), or English books and games, or take advantage of the free unlimited WiFi (25-30 Mbps), and MP3 player (compatible with most smartphones and tablets).
The modern kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, extractor fan, fridge / freezer, toaster, microwave, kettle and coffee-maker. There’s a washing machine in the outside utility area, clothes lines to dry your clothes / towels, and an iron and ironing board too. The shaded terrace leads directly from the living room into the beautifully maintained, grassed, gardens and the communal swimming pool. There are sun loungers and a garden table with chairs for you to enjoy the sunshine in the garden or terrace areas.
There is a separate toilet and hand basin on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a bathroom with a fully tiled walk in shower, toilet and hand basin. The main bedroom has a double bed, is fully air conditioned (hot / cold) and has French windows leading to a large, tiled balcony overlooking the lovely gardens and pool. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and a ceiling fan, and both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and bedside drawers.
Every effort has been made to provide facilities to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and feeling like a real 'home from home.' Bed linen, duvets, towels, a hairdryer, travel cot and highchair are all provided. With 4 beds, a spare fold up bed, and a travel cot, the property can accommodate up to 5 adults / children and 1 baby. Bedding and towels are changed every week, free of charge. The property is fully managed to the highest standards, and so in the unlikely event of any problems, you’ll be able to contact a 24 hour helpline.
If you do have a car, there is a small parking space immediately outside the back door, and additional shared parking within the urbanisation. Dogs are allowed on the compound, but must always be kept on the lead outside the house.
Dénia itself is a small Spanish town on the shores of the Mediterranean, opposite the Balearic Islands. It’s only 5 minutes away by car, or alternatively, you can catch the direct local Denibus (blue, Las Marinas route) which runs regularly, stops outside El Poblet, and only costs 1.50€ per person (discounted fares are also available).
The old town snuggles up against a small hill, topped by a castle, Castillo de Dénia, a reminder of when the Moors ruled this part of Spain. It offers stunning views across the marina, and is well worth a visit, along with the neighbouring Archaeological Museum. The beaches of La Marina, to its northwest, are good and sandy, while to the southeast, the fretted coastline of Les Rotes and beyond offers less-frequented rocky coves.
During the summer, you will find several beach side restaurants and beach bars along the coast giving you the opportunity to sit and watch the world go by. Dénia has been named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, and you’re well placed to take advantage of that. The property is a 5-minute walk from Michelin starred restaurant, Quique Dacosta, and there are many other restaurants close by. In the town centre, you’ll find numerous bars and restaurants, offering you tapas, Dénia’s famous rice dishes and seafood, as well as a variety of international cuisine. Marina El Portet (the Port of Dénia) is a lovely spot for tapas and a cold drink, to enjoy water sports, or catch a ferry to the Balearic Islands.
With its huge variety of shopping, entertainment, cuisine and water sports, Dénia is also ideally positioned for exploring the local area, including the natural parks of Montgo and the Torre del Gerro, both of which have marked walking trails to enjoy. If you fancy a change of scenery for the day, you can hire bikes or Segways, enjoy one of the two local golf courses, in La Sella or Oliva Nova, or take a ferry to the Balearic Islands. And finally, hopefully your visit will be trouble-free, but in case of emergencies, there’s also a modern local hospital (Hospital de Dénia) nearby.
Registering with the police:
The law regarding the registration of travellers, DECRETO 1513/1959, de 18 deAgosto, has been in effect since 1959. It was originally applied to hotels and was extended in the 1970s to include all short term accommodation. In the past the Guardia Civil have concentrated on just collecting details from hotels but this requirement was recently extended to other types of accommodation. This means that it is a legal requirement that all guests at hotels, and private rental properties, must provide their details within 24 hours of the start of the rental period. This information needs to be provided by everyone staying at the property, and so it is a condition of accepting your booking.
Once you have confirmed your booking with us, you will receive an email from our representatives, Totalcare Spain. They will be your point of contact before, during and after your visit, and as part of the service they provide, they will ask for your passport details so that they can undertake the registration formalities, and ensure that we are compliant with Spanish law.
INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19
Our cleaning and hygiene are of the highest standard in order to protect you and your family during your holiday. Our property management partners take this duty of care very seriously, and have established protocols for their housekeepers and cleaners, which conform to the recommendations of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. These protocols cover the cleaning of the property and the sanitisation of the equipment, as well as providing hand sanitiser, additional toilet rolls and tissues, and anti-bacterial cleaners for your use on arrival. In addition, for the foreseeable future, they will not carry out linen changes, but will provide a weekly change of linen and towels to enable you to change your own linen. We will review these protocols regularly to make sure that they are in line with Spanish Government requirements, and also any recommendations made by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
