About this property
Charming Coastal Retreat in Manteo – Newly Remodeled & Ready for Your Stay!
Welcome !
This beautifully remodeled and decorated home offers a spacious, light-filled sanctuary perfect for your next vacation. The home features three large bedrooms, two modern bathrooms, two comfortable living areas, a dining room, and a fully-equipped kitchen designed for those who love to cook.
I grew up on this end of Roanoke Island, the North End as we would say. There is a bike path that runs along 64 making the north end a great place to run, walk and bike. The street the house is on leads to the water and some great views of the sound.
* Sound Access *Go to the end of our Road, and take a left
Five houses down on the right is a public sound side area, great for picnics. Please park in front of the sign, there is a residence attached, be courteous.
Feel free to launch kayaks or paddle boards from this area.
Downtown Manteo now has more to offer than ever. Nightly Movie, Restaurants, Sandwich Shops, Bars and Hangouts, Public Parking, Coffee Shops, Distillery, Brewery, Gift Shops, Clothes Shops, Art Gallery, Summer Time Concerts, Blue Grass Festival Dolphin Tours, Pirate Tours, Sunset Tours, Charter Fishing, A play ground on the waterfront by the gazebo, fishing from the public docks. And this is all about a mile from the house, if that. Feel Free to give me a call or text to talk about your upcoming stay. We have parking on the beach road at the Dunes Restaurant close to two Beach accesses. There is also a wash down for all your gear before putting it back in the car.
The primary king bedroom is tucked away for privacy and includes an on-site laundry area. All beds in the house boast top-quality mattresses to ensure a restful night's sleep. High-quality linens, towels, and essential toiletries are provided for your convenience. Two additional bedrooms, one king and one queen, share a bathroom and are located on the opposite side of the house from the primary bedroom.
Outside, the huge, private backyard invites you to unwind with a cocktail under the afternoon shade, savoring the tranquil small-town atmosphere. Grill some fresh, local tuna caught in the Gulf Stream, and later, enjoy a movie or live music at The Pioneer Theatre, the country's oldest family-run theater (1918-2022).
Rent bikes to ride downtown, explore Festival Park, and enjoy the scenic bike path. Walk along the docks of downtown Manteo, where you'll find vibrant shops and restaurants. A short drive will take you to the beach, and the property includes a shed for storing all your beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes. The location also offers easy access to local attractions like the Wright Brothers National Memorial and America's longest-running outdoor drama, The Lost Colony.
Our family's heritage in Manteo dates back to the 1800s, with roots as lighthouse keepers. My father even worked on the historic Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse on the Manteo waterfront. We are proud to share our lovingly restored home and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have enjoyed preparing it for you.

About the host
Hosted by Patrick Pritchard

Why do I like being a Host? Well this all started about 10 years ago with one unit mom had redone for a beach retreat behind our restaurant the Dunes and now we host 8 properties in Manteo and Nags Head. Over the years I have enjoyed meeting and enhancing guests experiences from places to eat, fish to catch, things up the beach and down, to having a young man propose on one of our porches. Its been an enjoyable way to provide hospitality and being raised in a hospitality industry it seemed logical to step to rent properties. I enjoy the help and support of my family with hosting guests. Dad handles codes and ground support in Manteo. Mom decorates and will get any item for your kitchen and my sister, makes sure to keep me in line and much more. I enjoy answering questions from my future guests. If I can help them enjoy whatever reason they are coming to the Outer Banks it feels like a success. From Boating to Site seeing, I hope to hear from you to help with your stay.
Why they chose this property
This neighbor hood is quiet with houses on each side. The back yard is a real draw with hedges on all three sides. The location is just on the other side of small town of Manteo which allows for access to 64 and to get to downtown Manteo via side streets and down to the waterfront on bike or walking. There is a boat launch in downtown and plenty of room to turn a trailer of round in the yard.
What makes this property unique
I think The feeling when you get to a house and are in aww by the color scheme and attention to detail in the decor. The Beauty of a surrounding area that's new. The adventure that awaits. The peacefulness that awaits to dream about what might come tomorrow. I hope that you feel as if you are now ready to start your vacation once you arrive.
