Great house, great hosts, great city!
We (my eight friends and I) loved this house -- historically charming, but thoroughly modernized and beautifully appointed and cared for, everything well provided. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with great outdoor amenities. Our hosts, William and Veronique, were charming, patient, and welcoming. The bedrooms and bathrooms flexibly accommodate a large extended family, or 3 or 4 couples, or 9 friends like ourselves. And the location outside of Tours, close to supermarkets, pharmacies, bike shops and routes and paths, and close to famous chateaux is perfect. We stayed for two weeks and never stopped having fun. I could write much more -- all positive! -- but you should stay and see for yourself.

Un alliage rare , composé d’une très belle et vaste longère, nichée dans un domaine de plusieurs ha, offrant toute la diversité que propose la nature tourangelle. Un havre de paix sous la forme d' une demeure vaste et authentique, bien agencée , avec des equipements modernes, une literie parfaite et dont toute la décoration a été pensée et réalisée avec gout et originalité. On notera également la proximité de tous les grands commerces, le réseau autoroutier et le TGV en gare de Saint-Pierre des Corps à quelques minutes. Les propriétaires, présents mais discrets sont d une disponibilité rare pour répondre à toutes les questions, qu’elles soient techniques, touristiques ou encore œnologiques… Cet accueil chaleureux contribuera à faire de ce séjour un gage de tranquillité, d’évasion, d’espace, de découvertes et de confort ...ou chacun trouvera ce qu’il recherche.

Ein tolles, drinnen wie draussen sehr gut ausgestattetes Haus, gerade auch für eine Gruppe von 12-14 Personen, mit guter Anbindung an die Umgebung. Ein großartiges Hostehepaar, das uns diverse Sonderwünsche wie einen gemieteten Rollstuhl, Zwischenreinigung, etc. erfüllt hat. Sie hatten stets gute Tipps für Einkäufe und Restaurants. Sehr gerne wieder!

La perfection
Louer un gîte pour 11 personnes est assez compliqué, il manques toujours quelque chose. C'est pourtant la première fois que nous ne manquons de rien. Que se soit le nombre de salle de bain, la quantité de serviettes, le nombre de couvert, les ustensiles de cuisine mis à disposition... tout y est. La qualité est clairement une priorité pour les gérants, la literie est excellente, la vaisselle et le mobilier également. Le cadre et la décoration sont au top. Les gérants sont très gentils ce qui ne gâche rien. Rien à redire vraiment.

Un très agréable séjour dans ce gîte superbement rénové où rien ne manque! Les propriétaires ont eu à coeur de prévoir tout ce qui nous fallait pour notre petite fête familiale. Un gîte très agréable
Nous avons passé quelques jours très agréables en Touraine dans le gîte du petit Porteau. Nous avons été accueillis très gentiment par les propriétaires qui nous ont donné les bonnes adresses. La maison est spacieuse, bien conçue et ne manque de rien. Les chambres sont grandes et la literie très confortable. Les fortes chaleurs nous ont forcés à passer plus de temps que prévu en intérieur, mais la maison est bien isolée et nous avons réussi à conserver une fraîcheur bienvenue. Un petit bémol peut être : contraints de dormir fenêtres ouvertes la nuit, nous avons été gênés par le bruit de la circulation. Un très bon séjour et une adresse à conserver!

We were 3 couples travelling in France and stayed 5 nights at William & Veronique's property. They are a wonderfully friendly & helpful couple. Our first night, there were violent storms, knocking out electricity in our area. They were immediately there with candles, flashlight & champagne! The location is perfect for exploring the Loire area. We really can not say enough wonderful things about our time at Le Petit Porteau.

Il s'agit d'un logement au sein d'une longère totalement renové avec goût et budget! Très propre * Il est exceptionnel de part la qualité des prestations. En effet l'équipement du lieu est réellement de haut niveau (salle de bain, cuisine, électroménager) et très complet. * Il est exceptionnel de part son emplacement. Il se trouve au sein d'un grand parc boisé de plusieurs hectares , tout en étant dans l'agglomération de TOURS. Les Châteaux de la Loire se trouvent à proximité. Le centre ville de TOURS est à 20 minutes de route. Une grande zone commerciale est à moins de 5 minutes de voiture ainsi qu'un hôpital privé disposant de services d'urgence. Un prix conséquent pour cette grande location mais qui se justifie totalement au vu des prestations fournies

Perfection! Location, amenities, host!
This property is a dream! Reached at the end of a country road, but with easy reach to major highways, with the hosts on-site, our party of nine adults found a welcoming ambience, perfect modern amenities (kitchen, bathrooms, linens and beds included in the term "perfect") in a quiet rural site. The location is ideal for enjoying the Loire countryside while convenient to shopping and restaurants. The property is extremely well designed for accommodating groups of our size, with one bedroom on the ground floor and the others comfortably arranged upstairs. The kitchen is totally modern, outdoor spaces are comfortable with new, modern furnishings, and there is plenty of parking. The hosts are extremely welcoming and open to how-to questions and regional advice. We cannot speak more highly of this property; we only wished we could have stayed for several more days.

Wonderful Tours area getaway retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house tucked away in an idyllic setting. The decor and setting were both spectacular. We had 3 generations totaling 10 people and everyone had more than enough room. All the finishes, both indoor and outdoor, were top of the line and the kitchen was incredibly well outfitted; we had everything at our disposal. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. It was a perfect locale for our family stay. I highly recommend this property.

Great Time in Le Petit Porteau
We were looking for a big house that could accommodate our multi-family tour group in the Loire Valley. What a great choice this was! William and Veronique were so welcoming, making us feel very at home and comfortable in their lovely home. For those considering this house, the pictures on the site really do not do it justice. The house is an old building, so the rooms are kind of laid out in a strange, serial way, but the property has been renovated to a VERY high standard, and it really works with functionality AND charm. All the beds are super-comfortable and have very nice linens. (My only knock here is that the beds had heavy duvets, which in mid July heat was a bit much!) The bathrooms were numerous and well-appointed, with excellent shower fixtures. The house had all the amenities a large group needs to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay (Washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc.) The best thing about the Petit Porteau was the gravel back patio, where we ate all of our meals. What a lovely little enclave, surrounded by woods, with the sound of horses whinnying in the distance. Also worth noting, there is a giant Auchan supermarket about 5 minutes away (by car) which will make shopping quick and easy. Please trust me -- you will have a wonderful time at the Petit Porteau and will be glad you chose it for your stay in Tours!

IDYLLIQUE
Nous avons passé un magnifique week end en famille et entre amis dans cette superbe longère, les propriétaires l'ont entièrement rénovée conséquence nous avons pu bénéficier du charme de l'ancien tout en ayant le confort moderne. Rien ne manque (nappe, sèche cheveux, etc c'est comme à la maison), la literie est merveilleuse et l'accueil chaleureux, nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir.
