Dirty and cluttered
We were so disgusted with the conditions that we cut our vacation short and left two days early.
There were 14 rugs in the 500 sq. foot space, none of which were clean. Overhead lights filled with dead bugs. Shockingly, we even found sand in one of the beds upon arrival. The property was covered in mold and dust. As mother of a child with a severe dust allergy I had to clean before I could even allow my daughter to sleep in the front room. My 8 year old son found rusty screws left in the driveway, which is not ideal for a barefoot beach house.
The air conditioners were filled with black mold and they were not secured in the windows, making it easy for anyone to open the windows from the outside and gain entry. The exhaust fan above the stove was didn't work, which was probably contributing to the humidity and mold.
The front door did not open, limiting us to a single exit from the property.
When contacting the realtor we were told because we didn't alert them of the conditions there was nothing they could do for us. The one vacation my family saves for all year, completely ruined.
