Hand crafted with oak floors and cedar paneling, this sweet home has high ceilings, a convenient kitchen (with its own ocean view), and artwork by local craftspeople. Built to make the most of its proximity to the sea, ‘Ehu Kai offers second-floor ocean views and cooling breezes. Add the comfort of beautiful shade-producing landscaping for a perfect Hawaii vacation. The home can accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids (under 12 years old) as there is a Queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. It would not be comfortable for 4 adults.

Great Beach Stay!

Unbeatable location next to an amazing beach with snorkeling and sunbathing but plenty of shade when you want it! The cottage was spotless when we arrived. Mary was so incredibly helpful and accommodating and available if we needed anything. She went above and beyond to make our trip special. You will never regret a stay here. Wonderful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our 7 day stay at Ehu Kai cottage was delightful. Much thought and design was put into this treehouse type bungalow which typifies old hawaiiana with rich wood interior paneling. Perfectly clean upon arrival. Easy access to the beach and snorkeling. Grocery shopping a short drive away. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware with very nice appliances. The air flow from many windows,the ceiling fans and nice bedding made sleeping very comfortable. The staff at 2 Papayas was excellent in helping arrange our reservation,notifing us prior to arrival, updating us with weather warnings, quickly resolving any house repairs and providing a thorough to-do list for easy check out at our time of departure. Hawaii Surf & Kayak delivered SUP Boards to the bunglow for our length of stay and we did a kayak tour with them nearby viewing turtles, manta rays and octopus. Hearing the local songbirds each morning was a special treat!

Fantastic Oceanside Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very comfortable home for a couple or small family. We also rented Ulu Nui as we were a large family group. The location is oceanside, with a white sandy beach, has fantastic swimming and snorkeling with turtle viewing nearby. We had sunset watch every evening, beach star gazing at night, barbeques, and dinners on the lanai. The beach is easy to access for small children. Location is quiet, an easy drive to markets, shopping or entertainment. Most mornings and evenings I was the only one in the water! Manager is attentive and services are all arranged for a carefree visit. Love, love, love this location and the accommodations.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second stay in this wonderful house and we are already looking forward to next year. Talk about a hidden gem. Basically right on the beach, but with privacy. Stocked with everything you might need or want and Mary’s team is just a phone call away in case anything comes up. From having the Hawaiian music channel playing and cold towels and a pitcher of cold filtered water in the fridge when you arrive, to the papayas and limes ready to use. We settle in like it’s home.

It has been improved with a larger bed and air conditioning. It is a mere steps from the most beautiful beach on the big Island. A perfect location. The home is clean and in great shape, and well equipped for making our own meals. It is extremely comfortable. Mary and the staff are always available if there are any problems and respond very quickly. We love our stay there and will certainly be back!

The cottage is located on the beach, and was clean, well equipped and a perfect size for a couple. Waialea Bay is a fantastic location and our stay there was the highlight of our vacation. Wonderful Stay at Ehu Kai!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First - communication and coordination with Mary and her team was excellent. Very straight forward the entire process. We arrived at Ehu Kai - everything as planned. Wonderful property - neat as a pin - perfect for our stay! We really enjoyed having certain basic items provided - like coffee filters etc - all those small little items that you hate to buy for a short time period etc. The grill was fantastic for grilling fish - and we ate outside on the outdoor lanai every breakfast and dinner! Has AC but we didn't need it - the breeze through the windows is incredibly relaxing at night. Incredible location - we will be back!
