The property and house itself sits out in the country which is peaceful. There are deer and pheasant running around the area. The owners are nice and even helped send a coat we left behind through the mail. The downside of this listing is that there is no internet service or cable tv. It is hard to use your cell phone because of the circumstance so be prepared to go off the grid while visiting. The shower handle was broken so we had to figure out how to make it work at 5:00 in the morning by Jerry rigging it. There was no toilet paper either. We grabbed a roll at the local Dollar Store in Chadron. Overall, the place is overpriced considering the lack of amenities. We visited to turkey hunt and would have saved $150 over two nights by booking a hotel in Chadron when you add up the base cost and all the fees.
We totally enjoyed our stay on the farm. It was the peace and quiet we were looking for. A great escape from the big city. Just wished we could have stayed longer. The owner's are very nice and we learned about the history of the house and farm. The house was quite comfortable and the butler's pantry was so cool. Just a note, google maps will take you to the farm down the road who were very gracious to us and pointed us in the correct direction.
This little farmhouse is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. It is a rustic getaway for sure and a great place to literally unplug. LImited amenities at this little farmhouse.
The rental was clean and fully stocked. A very comfortable home. The only issue I encountered was not being able to correctly find the property on GPS.
