with a stay at this updated 3-bed, 3-bath cabin located just 6 miles South of Hocking Hills State Park. This vacation cabin, once owned by the beloved John Corby, allows you to decompress in complete privacy by providing easy access for serious hikers to old logging trails that lead to incredible hemlocks, majestic gorges and beautiful waterfalls just by walking out the door. Magnificent birding, frogs singing in the pond and wildlife viewing is available for those who want to unwind on the wraparound deck or relax in the 6-person hot tub. Grill dinner on the upper deck's master grill, roast marshmallows in the giant firepit stocked with wood or dine at the winery or state park attractions up the road. Wifi, DirecTV, 3 Smart TVs, games, puzzles, movies and air hockey is all available for the kids in case it rains.
This cabin offers all the amenities of home with a complete stocked kitchen, 4 separate seating areas on two ginormous decks, fully stocked laundry room with washer and dryer and three bedrooms each with its own full and private bath. Totally surrounded by trees and fields, you can stay all week with never seeing another human or jump in the car and shop, dine and hike the prepared tourist trails of Hocking Hills State Park just 6 miles away.

Secluded Gem

Stayed for a long weekend and this property was perfect. Good location, not far from the State Park, but secluded enough for a relaxing cabin experience.Everything was clean, well maintained, and functional. The property owners really care about your experience too and it shows. 5 Stars all the way!

All the comforts of home and more

The hosts are very welcoming and great at communicating. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable and there were many updates throughout the home. The hosts provided lots of snacks, meal basics, condiments, drinks, soaps and paper products which most rentals don't provide. The teens loved having their own space to hang out in the lower level. They also enjoyed having the large, clean hot tub. Outside is like being in a park. Very beautiful grounds for exploring. The location is ideal with the drive to many of the state parks close by. Great experience from booking to check out.

The best rental house we stay at

This is our fourth time staying at the Chubby Frog and it was fantastic. We have stayed at other houses in Hocking Hills, and this is the best.There is so much we love about this place that it is hard to find a know where to start this review. When I first tried to write this I ran into the 1500 character limit for reviews. So just know that this is only the highlights and things we love the most.The owners are very communicative and reached out before we stayed to provide customized directions to the property. They recognized that we were repeat visitors and gave us a discount on the stay. We happened to book this trip over Valentines weekend, and when we arrived we found a valentines bouquet tailored for a family with children.We forgot maple syrup for our pancakes, but the well stocked kitchen had a full bottle.While we were there we had all weather; sun, rain, & snow. Since the property directly abuts Bison Hollow, you can spend hours each day hiking without ever driving anywhere.If the weather is bad & you don't want to leave the house, there are cozy chairs, extra pillows, and extra blankets. The bird feeders ensure you always have something to look at out the many large windows.On our last day it snowed enough that we were concerned we wouldn't be able to make it out to the main roads, and the owner offered that we could stay without charge until the roads were cleared. They actually reached out to us before we could reach out to them!

Family Time Refresh

We came to refresh after the holidays. Most days were rainy, but the hiking was still great. The rain made the creek and waterfalls really move fast. The house was well stocked and extremely clean. Lots of wildlife, games to play, and a hot tub to relax. Great place!

Christmas Vacation

This was our gift for Christmas this year. The property was exactly as pictured. It was probably the most stocked rental we've ever stayed in! We thoroughly appreciated the box fans in each bedroom as we all sleep with fans and had to leave ours behind due to space. Vicki was great to work with and answered any questions we had. We loved the hot tub!! The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and she provided plenty of paper products! We truly only had to bring our groceries. It was great!! We loved how excluded we were too. It was a perfect 4 day getaway for us!

Gorgeous!

The location of the cabin is completely private and isolated. Surrounded by nature and beauty! The cabin itself is very well equipped with everything you need to make you feel at home. The water is fresh and does not have a funky smell like some cabins in HH are known for. Highly recommend!

Great getaway

We had a great time at the Chubby Frog. It was so secluded and private. Very close to all of the main attractions in Hocking Hills. The cabin had everything you could need and soooo much more. We will definitely be back again. Thanks again Vicki and Steve for a great stay.

Lovely Place To Stay

We stayed at the Chubby Frog and found the place to be clean, comfortable, and well stocked with items that may have been forgotten or needed. The Chubby Frog is off the beaten path but in the heart of Hocking Hills and close to a wonderful winery. The host left many helpful notes and brochures to help guide us in making decisions of what to do in the area other than hiking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

Lovely Cabin in Woods with Trails on property

Our group loved the fact that they had two hours worth of trails to walk while staying at the cabin. Although the group ventured out to Old Man’s Cave; if you’ve been to Hocking Hills before you may just stay at the cabin! It had a well stocked pantry, grill, a hot tub, fire pit and two tvs; one for our gamers and one for our movie watchers. The cabin had spacious bedrooms and having three bathrooms was huge plus for our six person trip. I also loved the bird feeders and the books and binoculars available for bird watching. The owner is really responsive with questions and super easy instructions to use the cabin. We would definitely book again. The cabin is maybe 15 min outside of Logan but you feel secluded when you drive back the lane. Great for families and couples.

Wonderful cabin!

It was the perfect location for a great getaway. The cabin is well appointed. The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. We loved all the nature and watching all the wildlife. Would definitely recommend a stay at the Chubby Frog!

We had a fantastic stay at the Chubby Frog Cabin! We spent a long weekend with some friends and had a great time exploring the property and relaxing. EVERYTHING was perfect...immaculate property, excellent layout, and over the top provisions were provided by the hosts, who were also fantastic communicators. Cabin is well stocked with everything you could think of. If you forgot it,then they probably have it there for you. Very happy with the peacefulness and privacy of this cabin. It was not on top of other cabins like you sometimes get. We will definitely be back again.

Slice of Heaven

WOW!! The Chubby Frog and its owners did not disappoint. The house is absolutely adorable, clean, and stocked full of everything you could need. The property is an absolute dream. We loved hiking the private trails and waterfalls—you have your own private oasis to explore with not another soul in sight but then you’re also so close to all the amazing Hocking Hills trails. We stayed with my parents and two small kids and the activities and things to do were endless. We also loved just hanging at the house, playing games, sitting by the bonfire, and enjoying the hot tub. We did not want to leave, but left feeling more relaxed and recharged than ever! Vicki and Steve are the hosts with the most and were so helpful and amazing. We are definitely coming back and recommending the Chubby Frog to our friends and family (although we’re tempted to keep it our little secret slice of heaven!)

Quick Spring Break Trip

The cabin was very clean and well-kept. There was lots of wildlife that could be observed from inside the cabin and on the deck.
