Nice apartment, loud neighborhood
The apartment itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. Washing machine is on the ground floor and laundry detergent was provided. There was a clothes drying rack in the bedroom closet. The caretaker responded to our questions promptly via text.
Location is a short walk from the tram, a bakery, a grocery store, and restaurants. However, the neighborhood itself was not ideal. Due to the warm weather we had to leave windows open for fresh air and were subjected to loud noises at all hours of the night, including people shouting, music, carts being pulled over the cobblestone streets, a garbage truck (after midnight) and the laundry service truck (at 3am). This made it difficult to sleep.
A homeless man slept on the sidewalk right across from the door to our apartment every night, which might explain why the street often smelled like urine. At one point we heard a neighbor yelling at someone to stop peeing in the street. Looking out the bedroom window in the middle of the night, I saw rats scurrying back and forth on the corner where someone had left their trash bags. We did not report these problems to the caretaker since they were beyond their control. It's too bad, because the apartment itself was quite nice.
