Delightful and Quaint

The apartment is cozy and comfortable. The view across the Loire to the Chateau d'Amboise is wonderful, even more at night with the illumination.The host is helpful and delightful. She provided us information on the opening day for the Caves des Roches and we had a wonderful tour of the caves. Great access across the bridge to Amboise with lovely views of the Loire and the flower beds along the way. Amboise is a good central point for visiting the cities and chateaux - Villandry to the west and Chambord to the east. both leisurely one hour drives along the Loire.

Incredible great accomodation

It's just the perfect place to be in Amboise! Spectacular view of the river Loire and the royal castle. Very nice, clean and comfortable apartment, just like a home abroad. Chantal is the perfect host, very friendly, cordial and helpful with many recommendations and ideas as to sightseeing and restaurants. There is an open-air swimmingpool very close by, perfect on a hot day and also with a great view of the castle. with with with

The apartment was exactly as described. Perfect location and view. We were able to use as home base to visit the area and beyond. Chantal is an excellent host. Casa antigua,Chantal es una atenta propietaria, casa sencilla y agradable. Entrada por zona inferior poco acondicionada. Muebles antiguos pero las vistas y ubicación merecen la pena.

The parking is two blocks away for free.

Hard to figure out what to do on arrival because there is no indication of where you park. Had to knock on first floor door of owners house to figure it all out.

Traumhafter Aufenthalt in Amboise

Chantal, die Vermieterin, hat uns bei unserer Ankunft überaus herzlich empfangen. Die Wohnug ist sehr ruhig auf der Ile d`Or gelegen. Sie ist sehr gut eigerichtet und strahlt viel Charme aus. Das Zentrum und das Schloß sind in wenigen Gehminuten fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Darüberhinaus ist Amboise ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um neben dem Schloß von Amboise eine Vielzahl weiterer Schlösser in der näheren und weiteren Umgebung, die Stadt Tours und die herrliche Flußlandschaft der Loire zu entdecken. Es hat uns alles so gut gefallen, dass wir uns vorstellen können, für einen weiteren Urlaub an der Loire die Wohnung von Chantal nochmals zu mieten. Un très grand merci à Chantal

Une vue magnifique !

Un appartement à l'étage, conforme aux photos, très agréable, avec une vue sur le château qui ne lasse pas. Un accueil très sympathique et agréable par Chantal. A 5 mn du centre ville d'Amboise qui permet une visite à pieds. Très agréable

Lovely visit in the perfect location!

We loved our time at the Blue Door. My only regret is that it was too short. The view for breakfast is unbelievable and it’s a quick walk to town. There’s also parking on the island to allow Friday trips to the chateaux.

Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Amboise. There couldn’t possibly be a gite with a better view of the chateau. The accommodations we very good and satisfied all of our needs. We highly recommend Chantal’s gite.

A Great Apartment in Amboise

We stayed here in May 2019 and found it to be a wonderful spot. Chantal is so gracious and personable - she is available and helpful and has all kinds of suggestions to point you to the places to be in Amboise. The description of the apartment is spot-on. There are about 39 steps (or so) to get to the apartment so you need to be able to do stairs. When we planned pout trip, we were concerned that we would need AC and there is an AC unit in the apartment but we never needed it. The windows opened and allowed a nice breeze through the apartment and that kept it comfortable, although the temperatures were never higher than the mid-70's. The location is quiet and the sound of the water in the river is very pleasant. The apartment is equipped with enough to allow for basic cooking. There is a washing machine and dryer that we used and having these available was very helpful. Parking for your car is on-street - and free - and we found parking spots without any trouble and the farthest we had to walk was maybe 100 yards. The town is within easy walking distance - just across the bridge - so unless you are going elsewhere, you won't need your car once you are there. This is a great spot and one we would stay in again without hesitation.
