About this property

3 Br 2 Bath by Cabin, in the Pines and Aspens with US forest access

A 3 Bedroom, 2 Full bath, 1560 sq/ft, 2 floor cabin nestled in old pine/oak/aspen forest with US forest access for hiking at the rear of the property. FYI we have no internet or WiFi. The cabin is on a 1.1 acre parcel. Each bedroom has a new Serta Perfect Sleeper Queen bed. There is also a two sleeper sofas (Queen and double) and a cot available. The cabin was built in 1968 and has that old warm cabin charm. Windows abound to view the forest and wildlife from where ever you sit. There is also a fire pit in the front yard and can be used if there is no fire restrictions.
There is a beautiful covered porch in front with seating to enjoy your morning coffee with the humming birds, deer, elk, squirrels, Stellar Jays and Woodpeckers. FYI you are in the woods and there are lots of critters. We do have occasion to have a few spiders in the house it is unavoidable in the woods. We do spray for them and bomb under the house which keeps them down.
Yes, we will have a package of coffee, sugar and creamer for you(under most circumstances) below the coffee pot. We have a bumper pool table that “triples” as a card, and dining table. In the mud room you will find a foosball table for hours of fun. We have a propane BBQ too. The large dining table accommodates up to 10.
A wood burning stove in the kitchen provides quick heating along with a huge living room fire place. There is also electric heat. Once warm, the cabin stays that way.
There is a washer and dryer on premises in the mud room. Please feel free to use them to wash your clothes or towels if needed. We have soap and dryer sheets all unscented. The machine is a High Efficiency and requires very little soap because our water is very soft and the machine can over suds. During cold months where freezing temperatures are expected the washer will be winterized and is not to be used. The freeze will break the pipes and pump in the washer. A note will be left on the washer door indicating it has been winterized. The dryer can be used though.
Wildlife abounds in the area with several lakes are within a 15 minute drive for trout fishing. Hunters are welcome! The Black river also runs year round for great fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing. Alpine is an excellent area for cross country skiing or snow shoeing - so bring your gear. Toboggan Hill is just around the corner on Big Lake road. There are a few sleds at the cabin under the porch along with some bicycles. We have a pump if the tires need air.
The cabin has many board games, horse shoe pit, tetherball, foose ball table, soccer ball and a giant Jenga for playing with the whole family as well a huge collection of videos to watch.
The cabin, being built in 1968 is a little noisy and sound does travel. Fans are in each room for circulation and noise reduction. We have just put new laminated flooring in and it is beautiful! The bedrooms have skylights with shutters if you like it dark.
There are two mud rooms. There is a double sleeper sofa in the side mud room.

NO PETS ALLOWED!
Smoking and vaping is allowed outside only. Please do not throw your butts in the yard it could cause a fire. A coffee can painted red on the porch will be provided. Please empty it prior to leaving. No Vaping is allowed in the house. Quiet Time starts at 10pm. Neighbors sleep with the windows open so we ask you to move inside at that time so that you do not disturb their sleep.
We are on a septic system so please do not put anything but toilet paper in the toilet; feminine hygiene products (tampons) condoms or wet wipe do not go in the toilet. These products do not break down and will cause a back up.
There is no recycling in Alpine, if you wish to recycle bring it home with you please. On Tuesday evening bring all your trash to the blue trash can along the driveway. Then place the can on the road so it can be picked up on Wednesday. After pick up please replace the trash can back to where you found it. Thank you!
The driveway is not real steep but it is long. If you are renting in the winter and the driveway needs to be plowed due to high snow, then the fee for plowing of the driveway is $100 each time the driveway needs to be plowed. 4 wheel drive is also recommended during the winter. We are not responsible if you cannot get up to the house due to snow and ice.

Comfy Cozy Cabin!

Perfect location with plenty of room for our multi generational family of six. We appreciated all the special extra touches and thought put into our stay. Not only was the property clean, it had every amenity from the fully stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture including rocker recliners, a large table for up to 10 people, spacious deck with grill, fire pit and so much more. Easy for our 81 year old father to maneuver as there are no stairs to get in the rear entrance and having a full bath and bedroom on the first floor was perfect. Thanks again Scott for sharing your sweet property. We can't wait to come back.

Great vacation spot

Cabin is just outside of town of Alpine with a few neighbors but feels pretty remote. Very short drive to all the major attractions. Has lots of stuff to do at cabin for all ages, including a nice trail right out the back door.

One of the best experiences!

First off the pictures do no justice. We spent a week in the cabin and it was such a relaxing, quite and peaceful getaway. Very clean and the owners have gone above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need in the cabin. The neighbors were not far but it was so quiet and peaceful I thought we were alone the entire time in the woods! We enjoyed many trips into town and loved the community but the best was the comfort of the cabin. I can go on and on about all the places to go hiking and horseback riding (snowy mountain stables was amazing) but I will wrap up the review with this. The owners take beautiful care of their property. The cabin is comfortable and a very homey. One of the best experiences us city folks could have. We will definitely be coming back sooner than later. Grateful for the opportunity we had to enjoy!!

Great Family Time!

The rental property was exactly as listed. Well taken care of, with a multitude of activities available to our family. Loved the feeling of seclusion, as well as the proximity to the forest. Enjoyed all the amenities offered and truly exhaustive choices for our kids! Probably one of the best stays we ever had!

Cabin in the Woods

The cabin was very nice, with lots of extras. It was comfortable and we loved that it is a "cabin" inside and out. Unfortunately during our stay, due to the fires burning the National Forrest, including the lakes were closed. We spent several days just sitting on the front porch enjoying the beautiful weather, the hummingbirds, even deer and elk. This cabin was a perfect place to do all of this.

Serene Forest Getaway

Upon arrival, we found the cabin to be clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Nestled in the forest, hiking trails are right outside the door. The kids loved the swings, and the adults loved the foosball and pool tables and the hammock. The cabin was cozy but big enough that we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other, even with 6 adults and 3 kids. Comfy beds and plenty of comfy chairs in the living room. We stayed for 3 nights and didn’t end up driving anywhere because the cabin and surroundings had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

Perfect Getaway

This is the perfect cabin for your family and pets too! It is beautiful inside and so cozy! There is a huge movie and games selection which we had lots of fun with! We went on the trail hike behind the cabin. There is a huge rock wall along this trail! It snowed so we were able to go sledding on toboggan hill which was a blast! My boys went riding on the bike's they have underneath the cabin and also we used the sleds for sledding. They have everything you need and more! Cute little touches with the sign in book, a container of things you might have forgotten are on the table, chocolates, and if your a coffee drinker(which I am) you'll be surprised with a bag of yummy coffee! Scott was so helpful with everything and very easy to get a hold of if you have any questions. Plan on having a blast and relaxing at this cabin! We will definitely be planning another trip here!!!

Neat quiet cabin

Came here for a little family vacation. Nice location backed up to national forest. Had a blast playing horseshoes, tether ball, hiking, and riding bikes. The cabin has a nice rustic look and feel. Awesome fireplace, great front deck to eat and drink on nice BBQ to cook on. My only complaint would be the beds could be better. Other then that great place to stay and Scott was very easy to deal with. I would definitely stay here again.

Got out of the heat

We stayed for a week in July and are from Mesa. It was 110 at home and only in the 80's at this cabin. It was such a treat! We spent a lot of time outside: walking, hiking and driving around the lakes nearby. We walked up the hill in the back, which brought you to the rock wall (from the pics on the site), it was fun to climb and see all of Alpine from there. The cabin itself was very nice. Big enough to move around and have space, but also cozy and comfortable. I really loved the table, it was really long and we played plenty of games with small and larger groups of people. The bathrooms were clean and big. The Beds were very comfortable. The walls were thin and we could hear things, but that was mentioned to us before staying there and we were aware. The mud rooms were great to help keep the house clean and organized. Checking In and Checking out were very simple. Scott (the owner) was very helpful with any information we needed and replying back to me right away when texting.. We would definitely stay there again.

We love being in Alpine. We love renting the cabin so that others can enjoy the beauty of the Alpine area. We love fishing and hunting in the area. The hiking is phenomenal.

Why they chose this property

We have a very nice quiet neighborhood with very little traffic noise. There is a one-mile loop to ride you bikes with little traffic. We also have several bikes under the front porch. There is an electric pump to fill the tires. Directly behind the cabin is a hill where you can hike if you like with a really neat rock wall. Derr and elk are often seen in the neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

One acre lot with US forest directly behind. It is a true rustic log cabin with that warm charm. With three bedrooms and two full bathrooms it is very comfortable.
