Located on the west side of Cochrane only 30 minutes from the grandeur of The Canadian Rockies. Yet, still only 35 minutes from downtown Calgary. This new and modern townhouse is fully equipped with 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ bath. A fully stocked kitchen with all the comforts and conveniences of your own home. Tall ceilings with plenty of windows leave it feeling spacious and inviting. A great place for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
This three level townhouse boast 1400 square feet of living space. Walk out and attached garage plus driveway pad. Two bedrooms on the top floor and one in the basement room. Each of the top level bedrooms have attached bathrooms with shower tubs. One Bedroom has a folding door closet and the other a walk in. The half bath is by the kitchen above the garage. The living room has a sleeper sofa and a 46" flat screen SMART TV with DVD Player and surround sound speakers. There are kids DVDs and toys for smaller children there to occupy our younger visitors. The washer and dryer is located in the basement. A small deck is just off the living room with a small sitting area and a BBQ. We also have baby supplies available for your use including a baby play pen/bed, sleeping chair and baby bathtub as well as a high chair if needed. Let us know if you have any other requests for baby supplies. We may just be able to help. The building is very well sound insulated and I was never bothered by any noise from neighbors during the 3 years I lived there.
The entire townhouse is at your disposal. Parking is free. Two vehicles may be parked at the premises. One in the attached garage and one on the driveway. Additional guess parking is available nearby.
This townhouse is not suitable for persons with limited mobility due to the multi level design with stair access only. As can be seen in the photos the townhouse is 3 stories tall.

From the moment we arrived our host made sure that any wants or needs were taken care of. So fast to respond to any questions. The accommodations more than met our expectations and therefore making it a memorable Christmas! Loved the fact that we could cook our turkey just like home. Well stocked kitchen. Our kids and grandchildren joined us for an amazing time. Again just like home! We were blessed by visiting with a few of the neighbors, who were the best and welcomed us. The location is easy to find and accessible to where you want to go in Cochrane. We're already considering the next visit. Thank you again for opening up your home!
My family and I had a great stay here, the home was beautiful and clean. They offered things to enjoy your stay a little more like board games, a DVD collection, a BBQ, as well as a garage to park in which would be very handy in the middle of winter. We had a problem that occurred while there with the water but we contacted the owners and immediately they answered and tried to resolve the matter and we’re very apologetic and sorry that there was an issue. Overall such a great stay.

Plenty of room for four people and the two and a half baths made things very convenient. All those stairs might be a problem for some people but we did not have a problem.
Place is great, good location on outskirts of town so you can get on highway to the mountains quickly. The house has everything you will need for an extended stay, including Tupperware and more place settings than you will need. Bedding is super comfortable as well, not worn out or musty. There are a lot of stairs in the layout but my family found the extra separation between rooms and living areas helpful if someone is napping. Overall a great choice to stay in Cochrane!

Adequate
Our past experience with VRBO stays have been so much better.
We waited over an hour to be able to check in. The cleaning staff asked for an extra 30 minutes which ended up as 40. Our key code was wrong and after repeated messaging, we got a response after we tried for 30 minutes of variations of the numbers. We finally keyed in by changing the sequence.
The place is very worn and grubby. The price does reflect that.
However, the bedding was clean and fresh.
Lots of equipment and toys for children. Both upstairs bedrooms have ensuites.
Parking for a truck is tight with very limited parking for guests.
The heat went out one night so we were in touch at a reasonable time the next morning. It got so cold that we had to turn the oven on and eat breakfast in front of it. The repair guy came around 4:30 that afternoon.
I found communication to be less than stellar.
The rental itself was good. The one downside that the pictures don’t show is the backyard area. The pet policy mentions that dog must be on leash when outside, which for us was hard to do because of the 2 big dogs who like to remain outside. There is a picture showing the view from the back deck, but the yard of the rental itself is shared with the other townhomes. Cleaning process to check out was simple, and the location was close to the town and close to get into Banff/Canmore.
This rental is very well located. We had easy access to Calgary and the surrounding areas. There were lots of toys, games and items for children of all ages - definitely family friendly. There is good separation of bedrooms with two having an en-suite. As it is a townhouse, there are a good amount of stairs which wasn't a problem for us but something to keep in mind if mobility is an issue. The property manager was very responsive and clearly cares about your experience. We would recommend and rent again in the future. Cheers!!
We only had a short stay but everything was great. Easy to find. Lots of space (although lots of stairs). My kids were thrilled with it. Great communication from hosts. Would absolutely come back!

Property was as described; very well hosted. Hosts were very friendly and went above and beyond to assist us. Only issue I found here was slow internet. I had to use my data every time I wanted to use internet.
The place was so much more than we expected . we booked online and unfortunately, it somehow double booked me with someone already booked there. The owner offered us this property and it was absolutely beautiful and had absolutely everything anyone would need, even a play room for kids complete with toys and board games .

About the host

I was born and raised in Norway, but transplanted to Canada in 1995 to chase the pilot dream. I moved to Cochrane in 2000 and after many years of exploring the world through my career I met Tatiana in Bolivia, and we decided to raise our own children in this beautiful town with the grand mountain backdrop. The abundance of available recreation, outdoor activities and adventure was and excellent setting for our new family. Although, in 2019 I was offered an opportunity to work for Coulson Group on Vancouver Island and we jumped at the opportunity to explore a different and equally amazing part of the world. Even though island living is amazing a part of us miss The Rickies and we try to return to our old stomping grounds from time to time to enjoy new trails and see our beloved Kananaskis Grizzly Bears.
Why they chose this property
La Casita Del Picaflor is a great staging point for the adventurous traveler. Only 40 minutes from downtown Calgary and just 30 minutes from The Rocky Mountains. A great alternative location to Canmore and Banff with a smaller price tag, yet still quite close to the tourist hot-spots. Lots of space for 6 people and still comfortable for 8, fully equipped so you can live like home if you like. The property is also stocked with kids toys, books, baby gates, crib, play pen, baby bathtub and high chair eliminating the need to drag everything along from home for those with small children.
What makes this property unique
Please don't hesitate to take advantage of our decades long experience playing and exploring The Rockies. We are happy to help you maximize your visit and to point you in the directions of the best experience and off-the-beaten-path opportunities you may be looking for. There is also an Adventure Manual there that show you many of the favourite light to moderate hikes and adventures in Kananaskis Country only 45 minutes away.
