Our home is on right on the lake so it’s the perfect place relax year round! Almost 1000 Sq ft. of decking over 2 levels provides a multitude of places to hang out and enjoy the lake and nature or take in a hot tub, sauna or both (there's even a cold shower for those bold enough to try contrast therapy). For those wanting to get closer to nature there is a large side yard with firepit, adirondack chairs and swing. The Inside of the house is designed with the intention of blurring the lines between outside and inside with tons of natural stone and lake themed decor. With 3 levels, our home allows for both privacy and group hanging out. The top floor is just the Master bedroom and ensuite with jacuzzi tub. The Main level is perfect for family gatherings around the fireplace, kitchen or in the games room. The lower level has a large family room and 2 bedrooms. Each level has full a bathroom. There are loungers, hammock and a swing on the upper deck. The public beach is a short 10 minute walk or for the more adventurous, there is a steep walk down to the lake from the property to a secluded beach with more adirondack chairs, fire-pit, and kayaks (owner accepts no liability if guests choose to use the rustic path down or use kayaks). Please remember to bring slippers/socks as our home is a "shoe free zone" indoors. No Parties or events. Residential Neighbourhood- Quiet hours outdoors after dark. 24-hour outdoor video surveillance and noise monitoring of decks and entry doors.

We just happened to stay during a once-in-lifetime northern lights sighting from the deck of this incredible rental house. I can’t even tell you how wonderful that experience was! The whole place is so well cared for, clean, everything we could ever need was provided. You will fall in love with this place and never want to leave once you get here! Thank you, Anna!
Couldn't have asked for a better location for a quick weekend getaway. Loved everything about the place from the house itself and the amenities, to the location and views, the mini-spa on the deck, and the games room (my son is now addicted to arcade basketball). Maybe most of all, coming from the heart of Seattle, where absolute quiet is hard to come by, I loved the silence and serenity! Absolutely perfect!
We had an amazing time at this beautiful home. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay an experience. We especially enjoyed sitting in the hot tub at night star gazing and watching the deer that visited every day.
We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful house with incredible views of the lake. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating. Probably the most well-stocked home we have stayed in. Other reviews that talk about the steep path down to the lake are not exaggerated. While we had no problem with it but it would not be easy to navigate for someone older or with mobility problems. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. We would definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay at this wonderful home. Our family (two adults, two teenage boys) appreciated all the space to spread out inside as well as outside. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The beds were incredibly comfortable. We even had a peek at the label on the mattress in the master because it was so comfortable. We loved the hot tub, the game room, and our youngest son loved playing the acoustic guitar. The house has everything that you could need or want. We loved the different decks and chairs to sit on, including a swing chair that one of our kids spent time in every morning. We ventured out several times on the kayaks and sat by the water enjoying the beautiful views. There's also a nice sandy spot to swim as well. There's a one mile trail approximately 1/2 a mile from the house. It's a packed gravel trail that loops a quiet pond. If you enjoy running this is the perfect trail to run on. We encountered deer every single day without fail. The property manager was easily available and responsive. We do not have anything negative to say about our experience and will definitely be back again!
The home and property were wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked, the beddings were comfy and the view of the lake is beautiful. The kayaks, paddles and life jackets were a fun addition to the lake shore experience. We fished and caught Bass and Trout. (All fish caught went back in to the lake) No fires due to fire control but not necessary as the weather was kind to us. Grateful for our time in such a warm and inviting home.
One of the best rentals we've stayed in. Well kept, stocked and decorated! We did not expect such a beautiful lake view and great areas for our family to hang out, it did not disappoint. While the stairs and outdoor path weren't too difficult for us to manage, 3 stories might be much for some.
This property was AMAZING. Good location close to BHam - about 25 minute drive to everything, with a local store closer. But a beautiful home, with an incredible view. Loved spending time with family between outside adventures looking out over the lake. Hot tub was fantastic - sauna would be great (if you are a sauna person). Lake access is definitely steep, but pretty cool to be able to go down there, and have access to kayaks and a fire pit. Cold enough on our trip, though, that we only got in a single polar plunge for the braver members of the family. Would definitely recommend, and return as well.
I stayed here with my girlfriends for a couple of nights to celebrate a couple birthdays. The house was beautiful, clean, stocked up and cozy. Thank you Anna for sharing your beautiful house. It was very clean and we enjoyed our time there. We would love to stay there again.
The lakehouse was the perfect meet-up spot for a week's vacation exploring the PNW. The place sleeps 8 and that's how many we had. Plenty of room to spread out during the days, though, I would say, we could have used a little more elbow room for sleeping - but we made it work! The kitchen was excellent for large meals and well stocked. All the bathrooms were super clean with great water pressure throughout. All in all a great home base for exploring the area or just relaxing on the decks or the swing. Hot tub and sauna were a great bonus. Better than the pictures. Recommended. Matt
We loved the house and the hosts were great to work with. We come from the country in PA and we were surprised how close the neighbors lived. We were only there for a long week-end but it was great creating family memories.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home with fantastic views of Lake Whatcom. We were in town to visit WWU as my son will be attending school there this fall. The drive to campus was easy (approx 20 minutes) and enjoyable. Lots of wildlife (deer & eagles) plus lovely views of the lake. We would definitely stay here again!
For being in a neighborhood, we were surprised at how quiet it was in the home. No car noises at all. The water view was amazing and we loved the little pizza and pasta restaurant only a couple of minutes away. We had a great time!
Wonderful, updated home with all the amenities. The owner had great communication and was easy to work with. She has lots of nice touches for her guests and the high end kitchen is fully stocked. We enjoyed the pristine views of the lake and wonderful nearby hikes. What a great weekend retreat! Thank you for sharing your lovely home.
First time for a multi-night get-together with family since before the pandemic. Had a wonderful time in an "eagle's nest" perched above Lake Whatcom in Sudden Valley. A beautiful setting with several destination hikes for all ages. The home worked great for our family.
We had a wonderful stay at Lakeside, the view is magnificent! The beds were all very comfortable, the view from the master on the top floor is breathtaking. They had everything needed for our stay; towels, laundry and dishwasher soap, condiments, spices, even popcorn! The game room was used daily and we had nightly board game challenges. Mornings we enjoyed our coffee on the bottom deck with the table and chairs, and our cocktails there too. The hammock chair on the top deck was taken over by our teenagers.
It was the perfect space to read, relax and rejuvenate our mind, body and soul.
Although there is a path down to the water, it is as stated, very steep. Make sure you have everything you want when you go down the first time, you only want to go back up once. :)
The hot tub worked great and was very relaxing after the hike up from the lakefront.
Anna was very easy to communicate with for arrival and departure, along with the great instruction book. We did not have any issues with our stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we enjoyed ourselves immensely and look forward to coming again.
This home has a quiet, beautiful location on the lake. It had plenty of room for our family and friends. 20 minutes to Bellingham and all there is to enjoy in tha vibrant town. Anna is very easy to work with.

We are a family that enjoys all the outdoors has to offer and have experienced many wonderful times at the lake with family and friends. However, our children are now grown and we find ourselves not able to spend as much as we would like there and thus have decided to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
Our home is amazing year round. With a fireplace in both the living room and family room, it is warm and inviting in the winter with the best powder skiing about an hour away. In the fall, spring and summer everything you want is at your doorstep: mountain biking for all skill levels, hiking, golf* tennis, sports courts, outdoor pool*, fitness center* and of course the lake. * fee for use
What makes this property unique
All year round enjoyment.
