About this property

Little Texas is located within walking distance of the Pearl Brewery in the historic Tobin Hill District of San Antonio on the north side of the River Walk. Other nearby attractions include: The Alamo, Brackenridge Park, the San Antonio Zoo, Sea World and many of San Antonio's great universities (Trinity, St. Mary's, and Incarnate Word.) Little Texas is named after the warhorse of President Theodore Roosevelt who made his mark on San Antonio where he recruited the famous Rough Riders during the Spanish American War. This beautiful, fully restored historic building keeps the spirit of TR alive with photos of his colorful life. As a veteran owned business, we enjoy hosting military families on TDY at Fort Sam Houston or Lackland AFB. Located near major San Antonio hospitals, this is a perfect place for traveling nurses. We also welcome tourists from around the world and business travelers needing a great place to stay during extended business trips.

Little Texas is Unit 4 of 417 E. Locust St. and located on the ground floor. It has a keyless entry system and Ring Video Doorbells for the safety and convenience of our guests. Guests will be provided with the entry code, based off of their cell phone number, NLT 48 hours prior to their visit. This flat has a full sized washer and dryer and a small backyard for enjoying the outdoors. It is professionally cleaned and we take pride in the details we have provided for our guests enjoyment.

Great stay in San Antonio

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Texas. The property was spotless and every amenity we needed or wanted was provided. The neighborhood felt very safe and their was plenty of outdoor lighting. We enjoyed the proximity to the Pearl Brewery and the downtown San Antonio attractions (a bit of a long walk through safe areas, or a short drive). We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting San Antonio.

Nicely renovated historical 4 plex unit near the Pearl District

Great property that was very convenient for accessing the Pearl District as well as Trinity University. Beds were comfy and property was clean and well maintained. Owners were very easy to communicate with. Several properties in the neighborhood and the nearby St. Mary's strip area are undergoing renovations and restoration.

Would absolutely stay here again...

Very comfortable and immaculate downstairs unit, photos as advertised. Easy walking distance of The Pearl Brewery area - maybe 3/4 of a mile in each direction. From the Pearl, can drop right down to the San Antonio Riverwalk. Great restaurants and owners' recommendations were appreciated. Rapidly gentrifying area.

This place is a GEM!

My husband and I were joined by my brother and his wife and we all loved this rental. To start, it was super clean. The beds were comfy and we had everything we needed for meal prep. You could tell the owners put a lot of thought into the decor of “Little Texas” and it added to the experience. The location was superb and we took several walks to the Pearl and used the nearby access to the River Walk to visit other nearby breweries.

Excellent location, super clean, modern

We had the Little Texas apartment in this four unit building. Newly remodeled and tasteful interior design. Of special note was the absolute supreme comfort of the mattress and bedding. Modern kitchen with stainless appliances. Great location just minutes to downtown, the zoo, and tons of restaurants. Plenty of parking in front and behind the building. The owners of this apartment really went beyond expectations. We also had excellent communications for the couple of questions we had. I had to ask them what model and make the mattress was, because I plan to purchase the same for my bedroom. The only minor concern was the lack of local TV channels, which could be rectified by installing a 20 dollar antenna and 10 dollar universal TV remote.

Little Texas

The house that our unit was in is being renovated, so we were the only ones there, so it was quiet. Little Texas was nicely decorated and very clean. It had every amenity, even coffee for the Keurig. Definitely would recommend. The only negative would be the transitional neighborhood if you are not use to that. All in all, A+.

Quick stay for work and play

My husband and I stay in San Antonio quite a bit with our work and our daughter goes to school there. The location is nice, it is an up and coming area but we are used to transitional areas and like to watch this neighborhood change. The place is very nice. It is part of one home broken into what will be 4 units. Ours was on the bottom floor so you can hear the people upstairs, but I believe it was under construction when we were there. Loved the restoration of our unit and the only real complaint I have is a girl problem. There was no full length mirror, only a few hangers in the closet and the front door is a glass which if I didn’t stay with my husband would make me a little nervous at night, all of which I know are silly and truly not an issue. I look forward to staying there again on our next trip. Thank you for your hospitality, we truly enjoyed our time.

Easy Access to Lots of San Antonio

The home is a beautiful, old, historic home. We were the only renters at the time as they're renovating 2 of the 4 sections of the home. Although not in the greatest of neighborhoods, it was very quiet, and the home surrounding it are as beautiful as the one we stayed in. There were some very good Mexican restaurants within walking distance, as well as a Dollar Tree nearby, just in case you forgot something or needed extra water! The rooms were decorated honoring our 26th US president, Teddy Roosevelt. Very cool photos! We wood floors are terrific! Updated fixtures in the bathrooms and kitchen - a well-cared for rental!

Home away from home

A wonderful home away from home. We had breakfast in the unit but usually ate out for lunch and dinner since San Antonio has such amazing restaurants! Close to downtown without being downtown. It was nicely appointed, clean with nice little touches like bandaids and cotton balls in the bathroom. Beds were super comfy and we would stay here again if it was available!!

We are Marshall and Christa, founders of Merkava Investments, LLC. Marshall is a graduate of USMA, West Point, NY, and a 20 year Army veteran with experience in leadership and project management ($45M asset management, 70-man company leader, 11 deployments, outstanding achievement awards). During a break in service (2002-2005), he was a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch and BearingPoint. His last assignment (2005 - 2014) was with the Department of Defense managing B2B sales in austere locations. He is currently with Johnson & Johnson selling bio-tech pharmaceuticals. Marshall began managing properties in 2007.

Christa is a management/technology consultant with experience in Corporate Strategy, Performance Improvement, Project Management, and Finance. Over her 15 year career, she has managed a $120M P&L, led C-level sponsored projects and large global implementations. She is Lean-trained and a Six Sigma Black Belt; she holds a Masters in Management Information Systems and a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX.
