About this property
AUNT JANE'S, character holiday cottage, with a garden in Winster
With two bedrooms - one double and one single - this delightful property is ideally suited to a couple or a young family and is well-situated for all local amenities and activities,
Situated on the owner's working sheep and cattle farm, close to the village of Winster, is this charming semi-detached barn conversion. The cottage also comes with stunning, panoramic views of the rolling countryside and a spacious patio area - the ideal spot for an afternoon spent relaxing in the sun. The property is well situated to take advantage of local amenities such as those within the towns of Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne.
Amenities: Oil central heating. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, shared use of washing machine & tumble dryer in external utility room, dishwasher, TV, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, small library of books/games. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair on request. Ample off road parking. Bike storage. Enclosed garden with patio area, garden furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 1.5 miles. Note: This property is situated on a working beef farm.
Region: The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Town: Situated within the Peak District National Park is the conservation village of Winster - an extremely pretty place with a charming 17th Century market house at its centre. With a variety of other imposing 18th Century houses within the settlement - nearly all of which are three-storeys high - this is an incredibly elegant town. Just off this stylish main street, however, are a number of endearing little alleyways known locally as 'ginnels', which provide the village with a very charming atmosphere. Most famous for its Morris dancers, June Wakes festivities and its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake race, this is a fascinating place to visit to enjoy a number of past traditions. There is a well-stocked grocers within the village as well as a post office and gift shop and two good pubs which serve food and local beers.
