About this property

HOMESTONE FARM, pet friendly, country holiday cottage in Campbeltown

This large, six bedroom property close to Campbeltown in Scotland is able to sleep up to 11 people.

This traditional, stone built, detached farmhouse is located on the owner's 250-acre beef farm and is set in a beautiful, secluded location just five miles from Campbeltown. Positioned on the Kintyre Peninsula, this property offers panoramic countryside views and period accommodation. With three double bedrooms – one en-suite, two twin rooms, one of which is also en-suite, and a single, this is an excellent place for a large family reunion, a group holiday with friends or a small tour group. The rest of this impressive house is composed of a fitted kitchen with dining area, a separate dining room with flame effect electric fire, a lounge with wood-burning stove and a sunny conservatory. Outside, guests can enjoy the use of a lawned garden and off-road parking for five cars. Even two well-behaved dogs are welcome, making this a welcoming and friendly property at any time of the year.

Amenities: Convector heaters with woodburner in sitting room & electric fire in dining room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, Wifi, TV, DVD, radio/CD. Selection of books/games/DVDs. Fuel, power & starter pack for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. rent. Cot, highchair & stairgate on request. Off road parking for 5 cars. Lawned rear garden with furniture. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop & pub 8 miles.

Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

Town: Set in a deep bay and sheltered by Davaar Island is Campbeltown, the Kintyre Peninsula's main settlement. Once boasting a vast fishing fleet and (apparently) 34 whisky distilleries, the town now produces two popular single malts - Glen Scotia and Springbank. The Campbeltown Heritage Centre, housed in an old church, is definitely worth visiting, as is the Tartan Kirk - a striking construction that provides an interesting insight into its past life. The 'Wee Picture House', the country's oldest working cinema, is an art-deco fan's dream, whilst just a few miles to the south is The Mull of Kintyre – formerly the Mull of Cantyre – made famous by the Wings song.

We had a great experience at Homeston Farm, would highly recommend it. Plenty of rooms for our group of 11, would rent again if we ever need it
