About this property

OLD DAME SCHOOL, family friendly, with open fire in Bainbridge

This detached character cottage in Bainbridge sleeps four people in two bedrooms.

Old Dame School is a detached character cottage in Bainbridge. The cottage has a king-size double room with en-suite, and a twin room. Downstairs is a shower room, kitchen, dining room and sitting room with woodburner. Outside is a front bench and side patio, and parking can be found on the roadside. Old Dame School is in the heart of the village with easy access to the shop and pub, and is also within easy reach of wonderful walking, and all the attractions of the Dales. Every effort has been given to maintaining the character and authenticity of this traditional cottage, but this does mean that there are low ceiling and doorways. Power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking outside cottage, further parking on green just across the road, both of first come first served basis. Front bench, side courtyard garden with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops 1 min walk, pub 3 mins walk. Note: En-suite accessed via small height-restricted doorway up three steps from bedroom. Note: Slightly reduced headroom in some areas of the cottage.

Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Town: The lovely Wensleydale village of Bainbridge is situated in beautiful countryside, four miles from the market town of Hawes. The village is an excellent base for walkers, and there are many beauty spots in the area including Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, castles at both Castle Bolton and Middleham and Hardraw Force - England's highest single waterfall.

Quaint little cosy cottage!
Beautiful, traditional cottage with lots of history to it (which is all in the welcome book + lots of extra bits to do during your stay). Stone floors, but the heating keeps the place toasty and warm! Lovely comfy beds, spacious rooms, plenty of storage. The cottage on a whole is the perfect place to stay and would definitely recommend! ☺️
