There is an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner that you can curl up by and enjoy a book or share a bottle of wine while you plan your holiday's activities. An idyllic window seat offers a lovely spot to sit and enjoy views of the Gilkin Hills. Up an open staircase, there is a double bedroom with a en-suite shower room and outside, there is a small, private patio with furniture. With Carsington Water and Ashbourne within easy reach, The Sidings is a wonderful base for a couple's retreat exploring this beautiful region.

Full of character with many buildings of architectural interest including its magnificent parish church, Wirksworth offers a quieter alternative to the popular town of Matlock. Visitors can enjoy exploring the ancient 'jitties' and courtyards, as well as the National Stone Centre, the delightful surrounding countryside and the nearby Carsington Water and High Peak Trail. Rock climbing and cycling facilities in the region cater to every level of skill, and there is good walking all around. The country homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy reach, as is Matlock Bath with its spectacular cable car, the newly restored Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and Gulliver's Kingdom. Only two miles away, the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site in Cromford provides a fascinating day out.
