This cosy, charming holiday home is situated a short walk from the centre of Wirksworth in Derbyshire, and sleeps two people.

The Sidings is a wonderful, cosy semi-detached holiday home in Wirksworth in Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District. There is an open plan living area with a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner that you can curl up by and enjoy a book or share a bottle of wine while you plan your holiday's activities. An idyllic window seat offers a lovely spot to sit and enjoy views of the Gilkin Hills. Up an open staircase, there is a double bedroom with a en-suite shower room and outside, there is a small, private patio with furniture. With Carsington Water and Ashbourne within easy reach, The Sidings is a wonderful base for a couple's retreat exploring this beautiful region.

Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Shared off road parking for 1 car. Small patio with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 6 mins walk. Note: Restricted access to one side of double bed due to sloping ceiling, not suitable for persons over 6' 3". Note: Property not suitable for children under 2 years of age. Note: This cottage is next to a heritage railway line with trains passing slowly up to a maximum of four times a day on certain days; therefore some associated noise may be experienced.

Region: The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: Situated just a few miles from Matlock on the edge of the White Peak is Wirksworth, a small market town. Full of character with many buildings of architectural interest including its magnificent parish church, Wirksworth offers a quieter alternative to the popular town of Matlock. Visitors can enjoy exploring the ancient 'jitties' and courtyards, as well as the National Stone Centre, the delightful surrounding countryside and the nearby Carsington Water and High Peak Trail. Rock climbing and cycling facilities in the region cater to every level of skill, and there is good walking all around. The country homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy reach, as is Matlock Bath with its spectacular cable car, the newly restored Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and Gulliver's Kingdom. Only two miles away, the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site in Cromford provides a fascinating day out.

Perfect
The Sidings has everything you need. Very happy we chose to stay here. Very nice owners who made us feel welcome right away. Great place to go for a long weekend and have a break. Thanks again.
