This rental met our needs for the few days we were in town to visit family at Stanford Hospital. Very clean, updated, lovely apartment in walking distance of restaurants and coffee cafes in Palo Alto. There's a peaceful backyard with chairs. There are stairs, but we didn't mind because we've encountered this at rentals in cities with limited land like Hawaii.
I was undergoing heart surgery at Stanford and needed a place where my wife could stay comfortably and have easy access. This unit was just perfect. Set back from the street, it was dead quiet at night. It was comfortable and well appointed. We could not have asked for more.
.
The communication with the manager of the property was excellent and she accommodated us in any way possible. The apartment was very clear, the kitchen well appointed and it was easy to park. Unfortunately the washing and dryer were in a separate location and we needed quarters for it. The place was not cheap at all, so for that kind of rent one is not prepared to have to get quarters at Safeway to be able to do laundry. Of course this is not something the manager of the property can control, but the owner of the property should do better!
The apartment was very clean. It is well supplied with nice towels and linens. Heat and A/C systems are older but seem to work well. Furnishings are nice and comfortable. TV system works well (if you follow instructions). It is possible to hear neighbors on each side and down below, but the level of sound was tolerable. Walking access to University Ave. is convenient - most restaurants and coffee places are within a 5- to 10-minute walk. We were able to park in the driveway (near the fence) without a problem. Owner is responsive and helpful. Would be happy staying here again.
Owner was responsive to all my questions especially when I had trouble locating property since it is behind another house with the apartment number not visible from the street. Ana Luisa was also accomodating when I requested a later check out time.
Such a great long weekend away. Loved being able to walk everywhere, and would definitely stay here again. The delivery of bagels in the morning was so sweet. I couldn't eat them because I'm gluten free, but my son really enjoyed them and took the leftovers back to SF when he left. Thanks for a wonderful, comfortable place to stay.
This is a pleasant apartment and well-located near downtown Palo Alto.
Unfortunately, the communications with the owner left quite a lot to be desired.
We got check-in instructions very late on the day of arrival -- and not through the VRBO app (the excuse was "technical" issues). Only then did we learn that the laundry is not in the unit and requires quarters to operate (a fact that really should be included in the property listing). We had already been on the road several days and were counting on doing laundry that night, so I had to go out late in the evening and find a store that could exchange bills for several dollars worth of quarters.
We also found that the TV wasn't working. The property doesn't have cable/satellite and instead uses YouTube TV (another fact that really should be part of the property description), and that service wasn't logged in properly. It took multiple texts, three phone calls and more than 24 hours to get it fixed.
From the original introduction on VRBO's webpage I got the destinct impression I was renting a small house. Large was my suprise, when I found, it was an apartment in a back building -
one floor up via one of two very narrow staircases.
For 85 year year old man it is not a joy to carry heavy suitcases up one of the these.
In addition the parking situation is atrocious. Too many cars on too little space.
We were disappointed.
Stayed a week in this apartment. Description was 100% accurate. Nice well appointed unit in super location. Close to downtown PA and to 101 freeway. Driveway to parking is a bit of a challenge, but you get used to this quickly. Ana Luisa was a great host, very responsive. So satisfied we booked it again.
A great little apartment if you prefer to cook when traveling. The kitchen was very well equipped. The space was well laid out and comfortable. No outside space available but bright and airy during the day.
The place looks as good as it does in the photos. It also has the little things like tea, water boiler, Brita water filter, and an extra monitor made the stay extra great, especially while WFH. Great communication with Ana Luisa. Thanks for a pleasant stay!
My wife & I stayed in this apartment in June 2020 for 6 nights while we were visiting family in the area. The apartment was very clean and well furnished. It is on University Ave, but set well back from the street so it was very quiet and secluded.
Location is great...easy walking distance to downtown Palo Alto and fairly close to Hwy 101 when one needs to get on the freeway.
Ana Luisa was very responsive and easy to work with, answering questions quickly and offering suggestions. We’ll definitely be back!
The apartment was impeccable, very nicely decorated and furnished. The owner was readily available and accomodating. We look forward to staying at this location whenever we are in the area.
