About this property

This completely renovated Cabin is right on the water of pristine Durphee Lake.
Charming old Cabin is the perfect Northwoods escape.
Right next to Kathleen's Crystal Cottage vrbo# 1398748
Cute and charming are the two most heard words when guests walk in. One bedroom on main level. One bathroom right off kitchen. Living room opens right to lake which is only 16 feet away with your own dock.
Anglers Haven a great place on LCO Lake is only 500 steps away.
Anglers Haven is open May 21 with social distancing due to covid19. They have of course their world famous Pizzas for takeout.
Large loft area with balcony overlooking lake is upstairs from living room and has one queen bed and one double bed. Great fun area for kids or kids at heart.
A secret hiding fun place for kids has been built under stairs leading up to the loft bedroom. Our two grandkids play in it every time they come to visit.

Family Trip

We had a great time together as a family. The boys enjoyed fishing and my husband and I enjoyed relaxing. We wished there was a larger bed in the bedroom, but there isn't a lot of space. Good times were had by all. We also enjoyed our meal at Angler's Haven.

Magical!

Everything about our stay at the Cabernet Cabin was perfect! My sister and I and our elderly mother found the accommodations clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Kitchen supplies/utensils were useful, great views of the peaceful lake, gorgeous sunrises from the loft bedroom, we really couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We all slept soundly in the cozy beds and quiet surroundings. Our hosts were thoughtful and responsive - really kind people that obviously take a lot of pride in this home. We would 100% recommend and hope to stay here again in the future!

Loved the Cabernet Cabin

The Cabernet cabin was perfect for our family- our girls ran out and jumped in the water each morning, and love the bonfire at night. Kathleen and Steve were so kind and welcoming. It's was great stay, and we plan to come back!

Amazing lake house!

The house is just as advertised. It was so cozy and clean and beautifully decorated. And the fact that it’s right on the water (and I mean RIGHT on the water!) was a terrific bonus!

Amazing Summer Getaway!

My family and I had an awesome experience at the Cabernet Cabin! The views were incredible, especially while enjoying coffee on the deck. Being right on the lake was perfect. The hosts were very nice people! Would definitely stay again.

Cranberry Fest

Perfect place to stay and go into Stone Lake for the Cranberry Fest. My sisters and mother stayed here. Cabin was laid out excellent for our family. Owners were great and Anglers Haven across the road for dinner was a added plus. I would definitely recommend this cabin!!!!!!

Just fine

We stayed at this property for my bachelorette party. The property was nice and the view was great. It was too cold unfortunately to go in the lake, but there was a nice dock and it would have been nice to swim if we could have. What was a little strange was that the owners live right next door and were a little intrusive on our stay. The wife would knock on our door and then came and talked with us by the fire after we built it while she was drinking saying “I know I shouldn’t intrude but I’m going to”. There were also spider webs on all the light fixtures.

Perfect north woods cabin

Fun in the northwoods!

Had such a lovely stay at this beautifully restored cabin on the lake! Kids spent a good amount of time fishing and playing in the water. Clean, cozy and comfy, just how you want your northwoods weekend. We’ll be back!

Family Getaway

We enjoyed our time together at the Cabernet Cabin. Location was perfect for fishing and checking out the area. Our 3yo loved the toys and books in the little nook under the stairs. We will definitely book again and bring our fishing boat next time! Thank you for the memories :)

Little Piece of Lakeside Paradise

Beautiful cabin on the lake. Steps away from the cabin door! Gracious, helpful hosts. Kathleen and Steve made us feel very welcome. We will be back down the road. Highly recommend. No reservations whatsoever. Beautiful place to relax.

Amazing Dad and girls weekend!

Myself and my three girls had an absolutely magical stay at the Cabernet Cabin. Sometimes you never know how a VRBO is going to be, and when we pulled in the driveway, we were excited - and then immediately upon entering, knew we were "home." Super cute and cozy, clean, quiet, well-constructed, and the views were amazing, as were all the water activities. For sure going here again - next weekend in fact. My kids cannot wait to go back. Great Cozy Place

Property was wonderful. Is a smaller, clean, quaint place. The place was just big enough for the three of us and the loft was perfect for a little privacy for our kids. Loved that it was so close to the water. Perfect for doing some fishing. Would definitely stay there again!

I would highly recommend Cabernet Cabin. It was very clean, comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. Incredible view and close to town. Friendly and available hosts.

Wonderful Northwoods Cabin

Family of 5 had a great vacation staying in this cabin. Situated on a smaller lake so you get all the benefits of being by water but also very peaceful. Kids loved fishing, swimming, and sitting around the campfire. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Overall our stay was exactly what we had hoped for. The hosts are very nice and responded to any questions we had right away. We left feeling like they were old friends of ours. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again. Thanks Kathleen and Steve for the memorable vacation!

Lovely cottage, exceedingly well cared for.

My friend and I thought our stay in the cottage was idyllic. Beautifully restored, it has the charm and appeal of bygone days, yet modernized, well furnished and very clean. Private dock and sweet little beach on beautiful lake complete the picture. Loons calling on the lake were only sounds. Peaceful and relaxing, abd great location for outdoor activity.
