We used this cabin as our base for exploring the area. The cabin had everything we needed and then some! We highly recommend this location and will definitely be back!! The host was excellent to work with!
Home was better than the pictures. Very clean and very private. Driveway was steep but was told a head of time. Great central location from all attractions. Would stay there again.
We were so comfortable at the Hilltop Hideaway! Plenty of space and privacy for our family of four. We loved reading, napping, and drinking coffee on the porch. The house has everything needed to feel at home away from home. It’s secluded and serene - a nice departure from the tourist locations we visited during the day.
Wonderful place to stay while we explored all the typical tourist spots in the area. Coming back each evening to enjoy the hot tub and make dinner was a treat. It is isolated with a steep driveway after a long winding road - we even had to wait for cattle to be unloaded one evening. Overall my family loved our stay. The cabin was so clean and comfortable with everything we needed.
Beautiful home in the woods. We loved sitting on the wrap around porch enjoying our time together and taking in the scenery. During the days, we were out riding the motorcycles, sight seeing, shopping and hiking. Just a little peace of heaven. we found at this home.
What an incredible place to come back to after many days full of activities! We loved being off the beaten path and the peace and tranquility of staying in the woods. Hot tub was used every single morning and evening as well as the outdoor porch seating for coffee or cocktails. Heard an elk bugling right outside one night which just added to the backwoods feeling. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Highly recommend this property!!
The cabin is beautiful and well off the beaten path, making a great getaway. The hot tub was a favorite for every family member at the end of each day. The wrap around porch with lovely seating was the perfect place to play games and read. We enjoyed watching for deer and turkeys that made an appearance each day. The house is equipped with everything you'd need to make it feel like home.
This was our second stay at Hilltop Hideaway, and I can't wait to go back again! The house was clean and well stocked with everything you need - the perfect Hideaway from our busy lives. Audra was very responsive, and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation home. The porch was wonderful for morning coffee and afternoon refreshments. Two weeks wasn't enough!!! Brenda & Keith
We had a great time during our stay!! Cabin is in the center of Deadwood and Custer. It was so relaxing. We loved sitting in the hot tub after a long day of exploring. The cabin was so clean and fully stocked with needed supplies.
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for - Off the beaten path, clean, with awesome views! We toured in every direction and it always felt good to come “home”. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven with our family!!
The cabin was so amazing! We just loved everything about it and Audra was great at communicating everything we needed to know!
We plan to return to this property whenever possible..
We stayed here as a family with our two adult kids, their spouses, and granddaughter. The cabin was amazing and so peaceful. To sit outside and watch the deer and hear the rainfall. Thanks for a great place to get away to and enjoy.
Great property! Thank so much for sharing your home! Very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed beside food and drink. 5 stars! Thanks again!!
If you want a peaceful place to get away from everything, this is your place. You'll have everything you need and more! The fireplace will keep you warm on chilly mornings, the porch gives you a wonderful place for your morning coffee and to figure out where to spend your day in the Black Hills and the hot tub is a dream. We loved every minute of our stay and hated to leave!
Our family of 6 really enjoyed this property, especially the deck for morning coffee and hot tub for evening relaxation. It was a great secluded location to go many different directions for sight seeing! We also utilized the grill and kitchen for many family meals. The hill was a bit steep (which the owners description does a good job informing of this) for our loaded minivan on our first trip up but then didn't have any issues. All in all this is a wonderful property in the Black Hills area!
We loved our stay here. It was beyond nice. Everything about it felt like home. The place was very clean and it was the nicest place we’ve rented in a long time. The seats outside on the porch were so relaxing and we had 2 deer who came and laid in the yard in the evenings and weren’t scared of us when we moved around. The kids loved the coziness of the upstairs and the beds were super comfortable. It was fabulous and well be coming back!
Our family (mom, dad, 10 yr old son, 5 yr old daughter) have only ever taken closer-to-home extended weekend getaways together (Outside of a 1 week stay at a lake house that was also near to home). We wanted to finally take a "real vacation" and we wanted a road trip experience. Our son has a real interest for United States history so aside from its beauty, naturally SD came as the obvious choice! Mount Rushmore being at the very top of the list for things to visit. We compiled a solid list of ventures that we planned on partaking in while in SD and the location of this cabin was the perfect in-between spot. The drive up the hill to the cabin was a fun journey in itself that consistently invoked OOHs & AHHs & plenty of giggles as well. We really felt like we had the true Black Hills experience while staying here that we no doubt would not have gotten had we simply stayed within one of the nearby cities. We are a lowkey bunch with an appreciation for a slower pace... this cabin offered us all of the modern luxuries, an ambiance that fit us well as it reminded us of our own home, along with a quaint comfort & an envelopment with surrounding nature. One of our favorites was relaxing on the covered porch and listening to the wind whistle through the tall pines. Our daughter compared it to a lullaby. So calming to the senses. Audra is a wonderful host! She has this home situated with everything that could be needed (& then some). Her communication is thorough and considerate. A+!
We absolutely love staying at this property! This is a beautiful cabin, we love sitting on the porch in the morning, watching the deer and occasionally wild turkeys. The kitchen is stocked with staples, the beds are very comfortable. This cabin is cared for well and is as stated. The hot tub is an added bonus after a day out and about. If you are looking to get away from it all, yet have access to what the Black Hills has to offer and hiking, UTV trails, kayaking, swimming, and boating at nearby Pactola Reservoir this is the place for your family. We had a small conflict come up with our dates and the owner was awesome to work with. Looking forward to our next visit!
The cabin was everything that we wanted it to be! The location was great for being able to hit the tourist attractions and still stay remote. It was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the hot tub & sitting on the porch watching the wildlife. Cell reception didn't work for us but we were able to hook up to wifi and email/IM. Would definitely stay here again!!!
