It’s a wonderful unit at McKenna Surf. Additionally, the property manager was Remely effective and attentive. My only disappointment was the softness of the bed and the master bedroom however, at the end of the day, I highly recommend this unit.

Relax with the turtles
I have stayed at multiple locations throughout Maui and this is by far the best place I have stayed yet. Maria was great to work with and accomodated our every question. She is the best host we have worked with - ever! The view from the condo is second to none. Molokini crater is so close! The sunsets were beautiful. The condo is well stocked with everything you need to compliment your stay. The condo is very clean and the furniture is comfortable. You can open the entire sliding doors adjacent to the living room and let the trade winds fill the air or if you get too warm, you can close them and utilize the AC. The bed was very comfortable. My wife and I agreed the bed is more comfortable than the bed we currently sleep on. We mostly hung out and walked to the (uncrowded) beach below to swim and snorkel. Turtle Town is directly below the condo and I counted 7 turtles on one of my many snorkel excursions. We ate out for dinner every night and did not eat at the same place twice. Lots of restaurants within 10 minutes to choose from. Lots of room for parking and it is nice the property is gated. We felt safe the whole time we were there. I can't say enough about the greatness of this property, Maria, and her band of managers. It is truly a gem and we can't wait to return.

From the first moment we walked through the door of F204 we relaxed in every way! Breathtaking views from every window and incredible access to the ocean, pool, BBQ, herb garden and fitness room! The kitchen is beautifully stocked! Alls you need are you favorite foods! The layout and furnishings are beautiful and so comfortable! The owners even left restaurant ideas! ***** Maria was outstanding in ever way!!!!!**** So very knowledgeable, kind, supportive and just an email away at any time throughout our planning to answer any questions we had! I felt her genuine warmth and love of Maui in every communication we exchanged! We would surely return!! Thank you Maria!! Our hearts are full of gratitude and joy!!

Breathtaking
The is unit has the absolute best location overlooking turtle town. You can literally walk out the door, down a beautifully landscaped paver pathway to the beach access path to the sand within a few minutes. The beach is private and beautiful and once you put your snorkeling gear on you are swimming with the turtles within minutes. The unit is clean, has the best stocked kitchen we’ve ever seen, updated bathrooms and kitchen, and has the best views in Maui. Don’t be fooled by the amenities of any nearby hotel, the gym and pools of Makena Surf and location to the beach are far better and less crowded than any place you’ll find in Wailea. The natural feel of the landscaping at this condo complex is unmatched by any other place around. The views from this unit are unbelievably more spectacular in person than what the photos can show. This is a special place that I wish every person could experience at least once. Mahalo for everything.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. From the moment you walk in and see the views you will be happy you chose this location. I could go on and on but in short we will be looking to rent this unit at Makena Surf whenever we are hoping to vacation in Maui. I have never seen a location so well kept both inside and out. It’s the perfect stay for a dream vacation!

In Paradise Again
Although have visited Maui a number of times over the years, this was my first stay in Makena and we were not disappointed. I spent most of my stay out on the lanai. We had a ringside seat to Maui’s amazing sunsets each and every evening. We dined al fresco always. It was so peaceful that I actually read 4 books, 3 of which in the unit’s lending library. If I could read German, there would have been many more. I come from a family of cooks and we did not want for anything in that great kitchen. Especially enjoyed the welcome basket.

Best unit in Makena Surf
We've stayed at other Makena Surf units but this is by far our favorite. You can't beat the view of the main lanai plus the second lanai off the master bedroom. The small beach nearest the unit has the best snorkeling we've done on Maui and many tours stop right outside if this unit. All we had to do was swim from the beach with our snorkel gear! The listing didn't mention it, but there are also beach chairs, beach umbrellas and coolers provided as well as plenty of cooler packs in the freezer and a pantry full of essentials for cooking. The larger pool is just right outside of the front door to the unit as well, and it has a close location to the fitness center. Maria managed the property and was very responsive and on top of things if we had any issues. She communicated well before and during our stay. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful corner property facing south, almost over the water, simply spectacular. Super clean house and almost every kitchen utensil you would ever need. A/C worked well, very quiet neighbors, super maintained property, very safe property, need either gate code or key card to be admitted to the property. Will rent again, next time we are in Wailea/Makena!

Absolutely stunning apartment with fabulous views.We spent so much time on the lanai watching the sunsets.Great snorkelling just in front of the apartment. It’s furnished to a high spec and the kitchen is equipped with all you need if you’re a cook. Wonderful position within the resort and communication with Maria the property manager was excellent with prompt reply’s to any questions we had and follow ups to make sure we were having a good time. We can’t wait to return. 5*’s are not enough.

We didn't want to leave
What a beautiful place to stay, we literally didn't feel like we ever really needed to leave the property. Of course we did almost every day to visit to local shops and dining but if you felt like stocking up at the local Foodland and just hanging around the condo for a week you wouldn't be disappointed either. The sunsets every night from the lanai or the beach which is just down a short walk were breathtaking, we watched it set every night. My kids and I went snorkeling every morning at 6:30 to be in the water early, lots of fish and turtles right in front of the unit, the party boats do swing by around 7:30ish so we liked to get in the water first. Maria was very helpful and easy to reach if we had any questions. We will definitely be back. The views from our unit were amazing, you won't be disappointed.

Incredible all around
We loved it so much we stayed an extra day. Beautiful condo, well equipped and very comfortable. We watched turtles from our deck swimming around, gorgeous sunsets, walked down to the beach and spent the days there. Location was ideal, quiet, close to everything too. Our Maui vacation was amazing and Makena Surf F-204 played a huge role. The views from the open concept living area! Wow! Felt like we were on an ocean liner. We spent most of our time at the condo on the lanai. Loved having lounge chairs, umbrella and a place for breakfast. Watching all the boats, kayaks, snorkelers, etc was a joy as well as viewing those amazing sunsets! Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were very nice. Kitchen was well stocked although we did not cook. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub and walking to beaches on both sides of the resort. Beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles, boogie boards, etc are provided. What more could you ask for? Maria was easy to work with and very accessible. We would absolutely stay here again. Just lovely!

The best of the best
We have been staying in Maui since the late 70's, all over the island, in hotels, resorts, condos and homes. The Makena Surf (which was not there the first time we wandered down into Makena) is the best spot we've found. We have also stayed in several different buildings in MS, and Building F is the best location in our opinion. While F104 may have easier access to the grassy area immediately outside, F204 has the superior views. According to Maria, the manager, this unit has been recently remodeled, and it shows. The sliding door + screen units are superb, which is important as you will be spending lots of time of the lanai. The kitchen is great, as is the rest of the unit. It is well equipped and the one item we asked for was immediately provided the next day. My only criticisms were the TV, which could not provide a link to apps such as Netflix and Prime, and the MBR mattress set, which is subpar for a unit of this quality and cost. (I had a topper delivered and we bought pillows at Costco, so we got by with those.) I will also say that Maria G, the manager, is the best I've worked with in all of the islands, prompt and courteous in her communications. While these units are expensive, there are few if any condo units on Maui that surpass them. You will enjoy your stay.

We love Makena Surf and this unit was situated even better than the first one we rented-- much closer to the water and the master bedroom had large doors and a patio with a view of the ocean. Only downside was the furniture was really uncomfortable and not arranged to make watching a movie ideal, which we like to do at the end of a long day as a family. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking and eating meals in. And lastly, Maria, the manager, was so communicative and responsive, a real joy to work with.

Why they chose this property

This is a lovely second floor unit that sits right on the rocky shore. The location affords great ocean views facing north, south and west and because it is a corner unit it offers panoramic views from the great room/dining area and kitchen. The ocean can be seen from every room except the guest bathroom and guest bedroom that overlooks lush tropical gardens.

The Master bedroom has its own private ocean front lanai (balcony) with incredible ocean views, a King bed and a private bathroom with double sinks and shower heads. The Guest bedroom has two twin beds that can be converted to make a King. The condo is fully equipped and includes beach towels, beach chairs and a beach umbrella for your use.

Unit was extensively renovated in 2014 (bathrooms and bedrooms) and in 2016 [brand new tile (from the hallway to the great room). The kitchen cabinets were redone (white), brand new stove/oven and new dishwasher. There is a new light green/glass back splash. There are new (Fleetwood) pocket doors (to the lanai), and new (matching) tile in the lanai.] These top notch renovations have made this unit an even more impressive place to see and stay!

The beaches are a short walk down a lovely paved path. You have the choice of ½ mile long Po'olenalena beach on the north side of the resort or Chang's beach on the south which is smaller and more secluded. Both offer great swimming, snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding and when we get a south swell, surfing. There are showers next to both beaches so you can rinse off after a refreshing dip in the sea.
