Quick weekend to have some quality time with our college kid & this was perfect! Had plenty to do but away from the city & the noise. Beautiful property!
This is the 2nd stay (different cabin) on this property. Great location, convenient to Shreveport and towns just across the boarder. Love the lake and nice relaxing kayaking it provides.
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at this cute cottage. It was peaceful and secluded, but close enough to drive to get something to eat. We loved watching for alligators, even if we didn’t see any. Would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.

Not up to par.
The glass on most of the windows were ruined therefore you could not see out the windows to enjoy the view. There is never water for the hot water heater to take showers or run the dishwasher. The refrigerator froze all the groceries we bought. No screens on the doors of the windows so the house was flooded but then sucks every time you went into her out the door. The river or the bayou in front of the cabin was covered in green plants and mud, making it impossible to enjoy the water toys. The swamps full of reptiles and things that would get you. The front patio out of the three houses was the only one with old Mossey splintery wood decks and extremely uneven patio pavers that you trip and kill your cell phone . The patio furniture and table was full of webs and spiders and mold and leaves very unappealing. The pots and pans look like they came from a good year 10 years ago with most of the Teflon missing on the pounds, toaster didn’t work. In general and inferior kitchen . And when you woke up in the morning there had to be 2000 bugs from the lamps on in the house. Now this might appeal to some people so don’t get me wrong it could be just the right thing for you. But it made my stay with my family miserable for me because they didn’t like me complaining about the condition of the property and they made apologies to the caretakers on my behalf which I didn’t appreciate .. I should’ve just turned around and run.
A hidden jewel for sure in north Louisiana. Beautiful cabin, Equipped with everything you will need. The boat with trolling motor was a major plus. We enjoyed the kayaks too, the scenery is beautiful. Bring your camera for some cool pictures. Don’t forget the bug spray. Check this place out if you are ever in the area.
We had an amazing time at this place, It was totally my element. The cabin was ADORABLE, and cozy, the kids were comfortable and we all slept good. The surroundings were AMAZING, It’s something out of a fairy tale, for me any way. The kayaks were so fun! We saw some big fish, but no gators, we took out 2 year old out with us with no issues, If you are contemplating on going out on the water, I can tell you, just do it!! It’s so worth it. We are booking again very soon!! It will be our go to place when we come to the Shreveport area!! Easy check in and the owner is very sweet. I highly recommend
This has been one of the most peaceful and relaxing getaways our entire family has had. There were kayaks for the entire family, great fishing spots to keep us entertained, and a wonderful cabin to relax in once we were exhausted from our day. We never had to leave the cabin except to get food because everything was there for us. Our children enjoyed the stay as well and were continuously entertained.
This was the perfect location to spend a wonderful weekend with family to celebrate. We stay in Shreveport multiple times per year and we decided to look for a house rental to spend quality time with family this time. The house was perfect! We all kayaked, sat around the fire, watched movies, made food and made amazing memories. The house was beautiful, clean and cozy. Jennifer was an amazing host! She communicated with me a lot and helped rearrange the dates due a change in schedule beyond our control. Our family is already planning to come back!
Amazing place to getaway from the real world noise. Chill with nature, absorb the silence but still have a modern, beautiful cabin to relax in too.
Everything was top notch including the responsive host. Hope to return to Emerald Isle in the future!
We really enjoyed our stay at Emerald Isle and plan to return! The cottage is adorable and has all the amenities. The lake and the cypress trees made for beautiful scenery.
My husband and I stayed at the cottage for a weekend getaway. It was super clean, very relaxing, and in a scenic and peaceful surrounding. Quick and easy communication with host. We did have neighbors, people and pets but everyone was friendly and looking for a relaxing weekend as well.
It was a change of plans that I ended up finding Emerald Isle. The place we stayed in was a lot of fun and the location on the lake couldn’t have been better. Kids enjoyed the kayaks and swimming in the lake. It is always a chance when booking a new place, but this was a great place to stay. Will stay much longer next time!

Not what we expected!
This place was a very big disappointment. The AC main unit did not cool the place down at all. The property was not clean at all. There are cats on the property that got on our vehicle at night and them just being there drove or dog nuts.
We had a wonderful weekend at the cottage while visiting family in the area. Beautifully appointed, well equipped, everything comfortable, and the owner was very easy to reach and helpful with any questions.
Best thing was the location and charm of the Cypress swamp. Loved our kayak paddle through the swamp, enchanting and "scary fun" at the same time. Also watched another guest catch a fish right off the bank!
This will definitely be a return spot for us!
The cottage was a perfect and peaceful getaway. It had everything I needed and felt like home. I’ll be back for sure and be bringing the family to this gem in nature!
Hi! I’m Jennifer, Chris and I have been married since 1995, we have 3 awesome kids, and we’re very busy with everything! I own The Nanny Network & Sitters’ Registry, Chris is a Realtor, we flip houses, and now we own 5 cabins on Cross Lake, & 4 tiny cabins on Caddo Lake, 3 cabins on the Red River, and a historic home in Mooringsport close to Caddo Lake! We love traveling ourselves & we are so excited to offer our beautiful Emerald Isle because it is more than Cabins on a lake, it’s a total Louisiana experience!
Why they chose this property
We spend our summers boating on Cross Lake & have always wanted a cabin! When we found Emerald Isle, we KNEW it was special & people would love it! The sounds and scenery are a real, immersive, Louisiana experience! The view from Emerald Isle is very much like Caddo Lake with Cypress Trees out in the water and some on the island with cool cypress knees. Watching the Great Blue Heron soar through the trees and land is just majestic! Emerald Isle is quiet & tucked away from everything, the night sounds are exciting and calming all at once! It's a one-of-a-kind experience for sure!
What makes this property unique
We have Free kayaks, a paddle board, a canoe, a Jon boat & paddles & life jackets. We have games, fire pits, & charcoal grills. Guests love bird watching & gator hunting, bring your binoculars! Emerald Isle offers authentic Louisiana scenery right on the lake... Quote from a recent guest, “We ended up here by accident. We had reservations down on the Louisiana coast. We changed them to get away from (hurricane) Ida, I have been lucky enough to travel the world and the US. I have never been on a bayou until now. Last night on the porch was one of the most magical nights in my life. The sounds were incredible! Thanks for renting to us. Super excited for tonight. Cheers.” Emerald Cove, PGM- Merida, Yucatan
