We have stayed at these premises a number of times previously and have to say nothing has changed, still a lovely well set out cottage right in the centre of Wooler.Very clean and tidy, with everything you need for a short break or a longer stay. The host is very helpful and communicates well.If you book the cottage be sure to book the Italian in Wooler, it’s called Milan and it is very good, the best bit is it’s less than a 2 minute walk from the cottage!
The cottage is really lovely: big, bright airy rooms full of light. The hosts have thought of everything to make guests comfortable. We enjoyed the location too, and would certainly recommend staying here.
We had a lovely comfortable stay here. The house is very well equipped and furnished. It is well served in Wooler with a handy supermarket and places to eat. It is in a quiet location and is well placed to get to lots of different places in the area.
We’ll presented and cared for let, really convenient location in the centre of Wooler makes Cuthberts Retreat a great place to stay and a good base to explore this part of Northumbria.
Karin and Dave have provided an excellent holiday home in the very centre (yet tucked away in a quiet corner) of Wooler. The property is well maintained and equipped to the highest level. We really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely property in a quiet village. Host was very responsive and instructions easy to understand. Property as advertised, clean and perfect for our stay.
We have enjoyed staying in this lovely property a few times now and it never disappoints. It is well equipped and in a good location for getting to a variety of lovely places to visit.
Property was perfect for a family of 4. Rooms were a great size and lots of storage for clothes.
Well equipped kitchen and the location was great. Really easy access to coop and other facilities in Wooler and an easy drive out to the coast.

We had a fantastic time in this lovely house! I would highly recommend it. So clean, spacious, located in a quiet and beautiful street. We would definitely book this place again.
I booked this cottage as we were going away to celebrate my significant birthday with friends.
Love the location and the local area
Lots to do and good places to eat in the town centre - friendly neighbours and local people are great as well.
Thanks for helping my celebrate in style.
We had an amazing holiday. The house was really clean and nice. Wooler is a nice place to stay and the location of the house was perfect. Almost next to a supermarket and shops around the corner.

About the host
Hosted by Karin Smurthwaite
Dave and I were born and bred in the North East and have always felt an affiliation with the region. I spent most of my childhood holidays playing in rock pools along Embleton Bay outside my grandparents 'wooden bungalow' on the dunes
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Cuthbert's Retreat because of it's quiet location off the Market Place. It is situated along a pink graveled lane, situated in between 'Trotters Family Bakers' and the 'Essence of Beauty' tucked away to the side of the Bus Station. The view of the local church's clock face and tiled roofs is very comforting. Everything you need is literally on your doorstep. Wooler is a very welcoming and friendly place.
What makes this property unique
The peaceful location, stunning countryside and accessibility to the North East Coastline and Scottish Borders make Cuthbert's Retreat unique.
