An ideal base for an active getaway in beautiful Northumberland. A generously proportioned 2 bedroomed house in central Wooler with separate lounge and kitchen/diner, family bathroom (shower over bath) and downstairs WC, utility room and 2 dedicated parking spaced. Double glazed with gas fired central heating. Well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas oven + hob, dining table (seats 4), washing machine and dryer. Ideally located in the friendly village of Wooler with shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes within 2 minutes walk. Wooler lies at the foot of the Cheviot hills and only a short drive from the beautiful Northumberland coast.

Wonderful in Wooler

Karin and Dave have provided an excellent holiday home in the very centre (yet tucked away in a quiet corner) of Wooler. The property is well maintained and equipped to the highest level. We really enjoyed our stay.

Another excellent break

We have stayed at St Cuthberts Retreat a number of times now. The property is clean, well-appointed and we like the location, which is close to The Cheviots for hiking, has great golf in the area (The Roxburghe, Goswick, Linden Hall for example) and lots of interesting places to visit. In fact we always come away wishing we had more time there! Thoroughly recommended - we certainly intend to return.

Great stay!

Property was perfect for a family of 4. Rooms were a great size and lots of storage for clothes. Well equipped kitchen and the location was great. Really easy access to coop and other facilities in Wooler and an easy drive out to the coast. Highly recommend.

Amazing house in Woller

We had a fantastic time in this lovely house! I would highly recommend it. So clean, spacious, located in a quiet and beautiful street. We would definitely book this place again.

Would be difficult and unfair to offer any negative comments about this accommodation. Even better as a positive comment is the property does NOT allow Pets! Excellent. Additionally the private parking at the property is superb. I would definitely recommend and look forward to returning to the property in Wooler. Well-appointed cottage

Well furnished with good-sized rooms including handy utility room and good-sized downstairs cloakroom. Great location in the centre of Wooler with its own parking, though proximity to the church bells was problematic for one guest. Despite that, I'd definitely recommend.

Short stay in a lovely, homely cottage

The property was clean, fresh, comfortable, homely, spacious and comfortable. It was well located in the centre of the village of Wooler, yet was exceptionally quiet other than for the church clock striking hourly, which was quaint and no issue at all. Parking was very close to the property and away from thoroughfares. Lovely village within an easy car drive from many of the main centres and attractions of north Northumberland, a much overlooked yet beautiful county steeped in considerable history. I can't recommend Northumberland and this property enough!

Lovely cottage in heart of village

Cottage much bigger and nicer than pics on website. Amazingly clean - could not fault it. Very, very comfortable. We would definitely recommend and hope to return.

Lovely well equipped property

The property is well equipped, suitable for families. Kitchen was good for cooking with necessary equipment available. Decor is tasteful and not fussy. Parking is convenient. Close to co-op for very convenient shopping Very impressed and would happily stay again

Excellent stay!

We had an amazing holiday. The house was really clean and nice. Wooler is a nice place to stay and the location of the house was perfect. Almost next to a supermarket and shops around the corner.

Cozy and comfortable

Charming, cozy, comfortable and clean. Quiet neighbourhood, shops nearby. The perfect place when you want to take a hike in the Cheviot Hills or take a trip to the coast or even to Edinburgh. The house felt like home and we wished we could have stayed longer. A real (re)treat!

Perfect Retreat

No 2. Cuthbert’s Retreat was just perfect.Faultless accommodation which had everything you could possibly need. Very clean, modern and tastefully furnished with great attention to details. Wooler is a peaceful little town surrounded by beautiful scenic countryside. Ideally situated for exploring The Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Cragside and many divine coastal walks and exploring the Cheviots. We enjoyed a wonderful week with unbelievable good weather and hopefully will return next year. Thank you Karin John and Erna

Lovely Cottage in Wooler

We had this cottage recommended by our friends who had stayed twice before and loved the place as well as the surrounding area. We were extremely pleased by the booking process and the owners excellent communication and instructions . The cottage was immaculate warm comfortable beds and welcoming . We relaxed like we were at home. Would happily recommend Cuthbert's Retreat to anyone .

Wooler house

Very convenient for the three main sites, Bamburgh castle, Lindisfarne & the Farne Islands. Not easy to find cottage at first as shops either side of alley leading to cottage have changed their names & alley is not named.

Dave and I were born and bred in the North East and have always felt an affiliation with the region. I spent most of my childhood holidays playing in rock pools along Embleton Bay outside my grandparents 'wooden bungalow' on the dunes

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Cuthbert's Retreat because of it's quiet location off the Market Place. It is situated along a pink graveled lane, situated in between 'Trotters Family Bakers' and the 'Essence of Beauty' tucked away to the side of the Bus Station. The view of the local church's clock face and tiled roofs is very comforting. Everything you need is literally on your doorstep. Wooler is a very welcoming and friendly place.
