Beautiful 2BR/2BA Waterfront Condo

Beautiful view of Jenkins Creek. Less than 200 yards from The Dataw Clubhouse which includes an outdoor and indoor pool, croquet, tennis, golf and bocce. Located on the tidal waterway between Charleston and Hilton Head. Relaxation awaits as you cross over the bridge to Dataw Island. Sleeping accommodations include queen; two twins and sleeper sofa. Use of Community Dock, fitness center with pool, 2 golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and Arthur Hills (pay to play), 8 tennis courts (pay to play); Full Service Marina available. Pet Friendly for 25 lbs. or less (deposit required); Linens & Towels Provided. No smoking/parties, children allowed; handicap inaccessible.

Please be aware that this is a privately owned island and in reference to the impending "right to carry arms law", (August 15, 2021) Dataw Island has implemented the following policy:

Members & Residents,
On August 15th the state’s open carry law will become effective. This means that in the State of South Carolina those who hold a concealed weapons permit will be allowed to carry a gun openly or concealed in public areas.

Both Boards have been researching this issue and have decided to establish rules prohibiting members, residents and guests from openly carrying a weapon on DIC and DIOA property; as we are a private community and club.

We understand citizens have a constitutional right to bear arms but hope that those who are permitted to carry a weapon will respect those around them by not openly displaying their weapon(s).

So you are aware, employees and contractors are prohibited from bringing weapons, whether concealed or not, on the island.

Great Place

Great place but renters should know beforehand that there are no curtains or blinds on the first floor windows. Also the lower bedroom bathtub is very slippery, which for the elderly might be an issue. But pros far outweigh the cons on this otherwise perfect dwelling with respect to comfort, cleanliness, and location. Would definitely rent again.

Not quite what we expected

The checkin process was not great. We had to wait an hour at the gate because our name wasn’t listed. Finally the host returned our calls, texts and messages to get us onto the island. After a long drive this was stressful. The host did offer to buy us a bottle of wine at one of the island restraints which was nice. The condo was not what we expected as there was dirt, food, and hair on the floors. I immediately swept the floor and carpet and had multiple dirt piles to sweep up. The furniture also had hair and crumbs on it. The bathrooms were pretty clean but the upstairs one we found was leaking. We noticed when we heard dripping noises to find an overflowing bucket placed below the sink. The upstairs shower also wasn’t draining properly which resulted in standing in water. The views from the condo were lovely and we enjoyed the back patio. The island pool was also a nice amenity. We also liked being between town and the beach. Overall the stay was ok, but the lack of cleaning made it tough to enjoy.

The condo was just as advertised, very nice and the beds were very comfortable, Check in was very simple, and the owners were very quick to reply. Dataw Island is beautiful we brought our boat and rented a spot ahead of time from the marina. We will definitely be back .

Excellent view from propert

This was our first trip to the area. We really enjoyed our stay. The views from the back patio of the property are fantastic. A two minute walk to the pier provides some of the best views for sunrise and sunset on the island I feel. The property had everything we needed and put good use to the charcoal grill in the back as well. We would consider coming back again.

Love the area!

Dawtaw Island is extremely well kept...the grounds are well kept...safe area and very quiet. Only issue we had was with Air conditioning and and house cleaning when we arrived...due to the heat during the day and lots of windows, the AC really struggles. From about 1 to 10 during the night, the temp never dropped below 76...Upon arrival the house wasn't extremely clean, It wasn't filthy...however there was the smell of dog, some dog hairs and didn't appear to been mopped. I don't think this is fault of the owner, more like just a poor job by cleaning services. * And I stress this is not to deter anyone, it wasn't filthy...I just thought it could have been a lil better.

Comfortable Villa with Beautiful Views

We had a wonderful time in this terrific Villa on Dataw Island. The views were spectacular and the location was ideal for golf, tennis, pool and walking around the Island. We had a terrific time.

Laid Back in Dataw

We enjoyed our stay. The condo had a great view and met our needs. We rode bikes, used the fitness center and rented kayaks. It was a pleasant stay.

Beautiful condo with amazing views

The condo is beautifully decorated and the community was so nice and peaceful. It was wonderful to sit on the back patio and relax. Everything that you need was provided.

Upstairs got hot

Everything was great except the stairs and upstairs bedroom were hot and it took over night to get it cool then the next day it got hot again. We were there for a wedding and it made dressing unpleasant. We left a day early because we wanted to be more comfortable. I even pinned a curtain on the big windows to keep out the sun.

Great Stay

We had a great stay at Dataw. It was our second time and we really like the convenience of being able to walk out back to fish, ride bikes to the nature preserve and get to Hunting Island without really having to be around crowds of people on vacation.

Memorial Day Weekend!

This property is absolutely perfect! It is incredibly close to the clubhouse and the pool. The small deck overlooking the golf course was a pleasure both morning and evening. The condo itself was well-equipped and quite comfortable. I would certainly stay there again!

Just what we needed

We were in the process of purchasing some property on Dataw Island and needed a place to stay while viewing properties. We had previously stayed at another unit in the same condo complex, and enjoyed this one even more. It was comfortable and in a great location away from the frequently walked sidewalk behind some of the other units, and close to the dock and golf course, thus giving it great views. The unit was upgraded with really cool soft hardwood or wood look whitewashed flooring and natural countertops, as well as opened up with the removal of cupboards. It had a nice sitting area around the fireplace and t. v., as well as comfortable bedrooms each with its own bath. The owner communicated with us quickly as well as provided suggestions of things to do and places to dine in the area. We definitely recommend this unit for two couples traveling together or a family with children since there is a twin bedroom with its own bath.

Couples get away

Dataw is like their own little town. Beautiful houses and quiet neighborhood. David was very informative and helpful. My only suggestion would be a little more lighting upstairs for when the sun goes down and a way to keep it a bit cooler upstairs but it really wasn’t an issue. Thank you very much for sharing your place with us !

Beautiful Waterfront Stay!

We enjoyed in the beautiful view of the golf course and marsh! The condo was clean and had plenty of space for all 6 of us! Great location! It was minutes from Frogmore and a short drive from downtown Beaufort.
