We had 6 adults and an infant ( all family), and had a fantastic time! The home is simply gorgeous, with so many items available! We absolutely loved renting the pontoon boat, cooking out, and swimming/ paddle boarding in the lake. It was all wonderful!!
Simply an amazing week’s stay. The spacious/luxurious house, multiple decks/patios, flat yard, and large beach were more than enough for our 4 family reunion. Responsive owners were fantastic, even mailed us a forgotten bag. Their immaculate property feels more like a home than a rental. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.
I have rented many houses for vacations and this is by far the nicest one I have ever enjoyed. The homes finishes are top notch and the property layout (flat yard, beach, boat house) makes it extremely functional. We will definitely be coming back.
We have rented a few places on Gaston and this was by far the best. Not only did it accommodate everyone inside but the large beach area outside was great for the kids. The local host Sarah was great at checking in with us seeing if we needed anything. Pictures are not staged the house is beautiful and you will not be disappointed.
This property is one of the best on the lakes, hands down. Opening the front door took everyone’s breath away. We packed so much that we really did not need to bring because to our surprise the home was filled with games, outdoor games, and lake activities. The beach alone is beautiful but the minimal steps to the lake is a huge plus especially when you have little ones. This home gave us an amazing experience and perfect place to stay with our family and friends! Highly recommend!
We had an absolutely amazing stay! The house was exactly as pictured, with so much attention to detail - we kept finding new, hidden treasures and trinkets in every room. It's a perfect spot for families - the sandy beach, boat dock, tree swing, big grassy yard and the lower bunk level were all ideal for our crew of 3 boys under the age of 6. The adults had plenty of space to spread out, and we loved having coffee on the deck in the mornings and cocktails on the patio at night. The hosts were so accommodating and even dropped off a box of trash bags when we ran out. Can't say enough great things, we will be back!
This is the perfect lake house! From the moment you walk through the front door, you can see the lake from every room in the house. The sunsets are amazing. Our family of 12 and 3 dogs were comfortable the entire stay. We spent lots of time around the huge fire pit, in the boat house, fishing, and boating.
Regina, her husband and caretaker were very responsive and accommodating. A couple tips… order lots of firewood prior to your stay. We used 1/2 cord of wood in 4 days. Also, the windows don’t have any blinds - be prepared.
We just stayed at the home June 2023 and had an amazing time at this beautiful home. I normally don't do reviews but had to for this home as it was such a great time! We rented the owners boat which was so convenient and brought a couple jet skis as well and spent lots of time out on the lake. The home is even better than the pics show and like a previous review the biggest downfall is the upstairs not having a bathroom but we worked it out and it wouldn't keep us from staying here again. FYI they do not have a normal grill so if you plan to grill you may want to bring along a small table top one. There is a Traeger grill there but you need to get your own wood chips to put in it...we weren't real familier with it but was able to get it to do the job for dinner one night. The kitchen is pretty well stocked so be sure to message the owner before packing all you think you need (it will save you space in the veh) The beach area was a huge hit with our grandchildren and they didn't miss having a pool at all...there were plenty of beach toys for the kids so no need to pack buckets and shovels The kids loved the bunk room! The owner is very helpful with questions or any issues you might have. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home it made for some great memories with our family!
We loved this house! The view from the porch, the beach, or the boathouse is spectacular. The location is on a wide part of the lake and gave us colorful sunrises and sunsets. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. We had six adults and three children, ages 4, 3, and 2. The sandy beach is wonderful for kids. It extended into the water on a gentle slope and we felt comfortable allowing them to splash around independently with puddle-jumpers on their arms. They also enjoyed jumping off the deck at the boathouse. Beds are comfortable and plentiful. The house was roomy on the main and lower floors and opened out to a very large shaded deck and porch with multiple chairs, sofas and swings. The two bedrooms on the upper floor were large and had interesting entries. One is accessed by a stairway hidden behind a bookshelf (we called it the Harry Potter room) and the other is reached by climbing a spiral staircase. Both were cool and comfortable. The kitchen is large and the appliances were top notch. We especially appreciated having multiple refrigerators and ice machines for adult beverages. We experienced how good a Traeger grill is and had a fun time making s’mores at the fire pit. Tips – if small children are in bedrooms on the lower floor, the windows are large with lots of glass and no window coverings, so you may need to rig up coverings for them. At checkout, bath towels are required to be washed and put in bathrooms, so allow time. We would come back!
My family and I had a great vacation relaxing here. It was great because there was plenty of space for us to spread out as well as great areas for us to be together as a family.
The house was fabulous. We had quite a few hiccups during our stay but the property manager was very responsive to assist us. We rented at the end of the season and it was unfortunate the amount of food left in pantry upon our arrival. The main thing that threw our group was the fact that the two upstairs bedrooms were extremely warm even with the mini-AC units in those rooms AND most important to note: those two additional rooms (the spiral staircase and the hidden stairway behind bookcase) have NO easy bathroom access. The only access is the powder room off the kitchen or the master. This was really unfortunate for the dynamics of our group. The bunk room is also completely open to that downstairs den, so be aware if you assume you'll be able to put younger kids to bed and then hangout in the den. It was also a tricky dynamic. For the price point and beautiful nature of the home, it was unfortunate those details weren't full disclosed before our stay. Despite all of that, the home is indeed well done and the sandy beach front is a very unique feature for this area!
The property and house are simply amazing! There was a lot of sandy beach as well as deep water off the dock for jumping. The grounds are well kept and it's not on a hill. The outdoor upper and lower decks, beach area, and firepit/bbq area are absolutely stunning! Plenty of parking. You simply won't find a better outdoor location on the main lake than this property. If I was going to buy a place at the lake, this is the location I want.
The inside of the house was really well done with high end Miele appliances (including a built-in espresso/cappuccino machine) that was a great touch for those of us riding the espresso train. Two sets of washer/dryers was a plus and plenty of seating throughout the house for our group of 16.
The only things to point out were that the primary bedroom was the only bedroom on the main floor. For some reason we were thinking there were 3 bedrooms on the main floor and 2 bedrooms plus the bunkroom on the lower ground floor. There are two other bedroom (one is by spiral staircase) off the kitchen and the other is behind a secret bookshelf - which is kind of cool. The only problems with that layout is that neither of those two upper bedrooms had bathrooms in them so those people staying there had to use the master bedroom shower and the half-bath (toilet and sink only) off the dining room. If those two bedrooms had bathrooms then it would've been perfect on all fronts. But the problem with those upstairs bedrooms is that the spiral staircase is too tight for a 'larger' or older person to get up and down and I couldn't see having my parents go up and down the other stairs to a bedroom without a bathroom so we ended up giving them the master bedroom and we took a basement bedroom which was a weird situation to work out.
The only other minor thing to point out is that I'm not a huge fan of the check-out policy that states we are responsible for washing and putting away the towels. I don't think I've ever seen that before and though it's not a huge deal and we did what was required it made me wonder if people before us actually washed the towels thoroughly or just hung them up uncleaned if they were running out of time to do all that before check-out? I would suggest having the cleaning crew bring in new ones each time or have them wash and hang/fold them to be sure they get cleaned.
Overall this is a great location and house and if the owners ever want to sell I'd be the first in line to buy! Thanks!
We came to the house for our annual family gathering, it really is a great property. The location is fantastic, the dock and beach are wonderful and the house is fully stocked and looks great.
The only detractors are 2 of the bedrooms have window units due to their odd location, one of them requires the navigation of a spiral staircase that can be tight for adults and the bunk room in the basement doesn’t have a door. Other than that, it’s a perfect home for a big family and we would definitely consider going back again in the future.
Everything about this house was as advertised. So hard to find a place that keeps all the kids (17-27) plus grandkids entertained and happy but this house did just that!! It has everything you need for a relaxing, yet entertaining vacation. We look forward to returning next year.
This home is stunning and the perfect place to relax and make memories with family and friends. The location is ideal as it is close to the grocery store, liquor store, gas stations, and a few restaurants. The lakefront property is exquisite. I would love to stay at this home again.
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this property. Highlights for the kids were the bunk room and the swing (of course!). The house is located with a beautiful view of the lake, and the fire pit is great, especially on cool nights like the ones we had. It was too cold to swim when we were there, but I imagine the small beach would be a fun place to swim in the warmer months.
