Best view in the North Country!

Welcome to the North Country!

***Winter Booking Advisory***
Winter in the north country can be VERY cold/windy with extreme amounts of snowfall at times. A true winter lover's paradise but it can catch you off guard if you're not familiar with it. If you are looking to enjoy this beautiful season at our home please be aware of the following before booking in December-April:
- Our driveway is paved but steep. It is necessary to have good all season tires/snow tires.
- We have a plowman who takes care of the driveway after each storm but there is a chance that guests might arrive before he has had a chance to plow. Be prepared to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up if necessary.
- We leave a shovel out for clearing the entryways... the doors could be covered in a few feet of snowfall at times.
-We have a wood stove for added head/ambiance in the winter months. We REQUIRE a call in advance of starting a fire for an operational run through. This is a non-negotiable item here.
If you have any questions pertaining to a winter booking please feel free to send us message and we will be happy to address any questions or concerns.

Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home features windows throughout to showcase one of the best views in Colebrook. A wrap around deck makes enjoying the outdoors easy and relaxing. In the winter enjoy the wood fire to stay cozy or hop in the jacuzzi tub in our master suite!

Both ATV and Snowmobile trails can be accessed directly from the property. No need to trailer up and drive to the trails! You can drive right into the garage after a day's riding. The house is situated 10 minutes from the village of Colebrook which has everything you could need or want. Restaurants, hardware store, grocery store, brand new produce store, ATV sales/service, liquor store, Walgreens, Dunkin & local boutique shops. our home, you have direct access to hundreds of miles of snowmobiling and ATV trails, right from your doorstep! We're a 20 minute drive to The Balsams resort and a short 30 mile drive to The “Trophy Stretch” of the Upper Connecticut River in Pittsburg, NH which is two and one half miles of pocket water, riffles and pools, providing some of northern New England's best trout and salmon fishing. For the hiking enthusiasts there are miles of trails via the Coos Trail, Monadnock Mountain & Dixville Notch. A ten minute drive to Beaver Brook Falls, the Connecticut River, and a short drive to Pittsburgh NH!
A true playground for any outdoors enthusiast!

Quirks and full disclosure: The siding is in rough shape, but in no way affects the use and enjoyment of the home. The previous owners lay'd carpet in the bathrooms(we believe to keep the floor warmer in winter). It's certainly odd, and someday we hope to change it. We keep them home very clean so we hope you'll find it acceptable.

We look forward to welcoming you into our home to enjoy it as much as we love it!

Already looking at next trip

Let me start by saying I thought the listing was going to 'over sell' the view... I WAS WRONG! The ad doesn't do the AMAZING view justice. The wife and I were blown away every day by the view, the deer and moose in the yard/field. We rented the home for 5 days for some snowmobiling up north. Trail access is directly out of the back of the property. Now for the warning. Pay close attention to the owner's warning about the driveway in winter. I have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with all the bells/whistles and all terrain tires. Still couldn't get my loaded snowmobile trailer up the driveway. After geting jack knifed, I had to unload the sleds and then I was able to get the trailer up in 4WD and front and rear lockers locked. Without the trailer I was able to get up the driveway without the lockers, but not even 50 feet up in 2WD. If you have a 2WD vehicle, don't even try it.... And the driveway would be measured in scales of miles, not feet (guessing one to two tenths of a mile, all up hill). As for the home, it is very unique with the central octagon shape and 2 bedroom suites on each end. Would be VERY nice set up for 2 couples. The decor is older, probably late 80s, but everything was there and functional. Better stocked with utensils and pot/pans and so forth than other places we have stayed. Looking at possibly staying again, but with the side by side when it's ATV season. EASY trail access.

Unforgettable

Really is a breath-taking view. PERFECT for the eclipse. Wonderful grounds to explore with the fresh snow. Could be time of year, but it was a tricky road up and down. Four-wheeler highly recommended, and flies were abundant but amusingly slow. Nice town with great breakfast not far. Owner quick to respond. Happy kitchen. Sleepy comfy chairs. Excellent bedrooms. Absolutely outstanding. Many thanks!

Beautiful time of year

This place was great. We went for the leaves and we were there at the perfect time. House was clean and ready for us. We had a small problem the first night and the owners were great. Fixed by next morning. Views from house indescribable. Pictures can’t do it justice. One recommendation. GIve a few more instructions for the dirt road. We came in the dark and it was raining a bit, so being tired , it took us awhile to find it. In daytime, there would have been no problem, but it is very dark on the dirt road. Would definitely recommend. Great country house.

MOLD BEWARE

As a single Mom who hasn't taken my daughter on vacation in years we were very excited about this trip and the pictures looked wonderful. When we arrived we noticed it smelled musty but let it go as we thought maybe it had been empty for a bit. During our stay we discovered mold in various places. First was the shower...it appeared clean until we used it. Inside the shower were various places with mold and disgusting gunk in the drain. Then we used the washing machine which also had mold. We found mold in the window and a smelly stained curtain in the bedroom. I wanted to leave but this was now a few days in finding more issues each day. We ended up leaving a day early and just couldn't stand the smell anymore. Mold is dangerous and can cause long term health issues!! On top of this 13 days after leaving the property the owner sent me an email saying they would be charging me 199.99 for there damaged ring camara accusing us of damaging it and saying it wasn't working properly!!!! What kind of owner tries to charge someone 2 weeks after leaving for an issue with something? They should be ashamed of themselves!

Perfect Fall Getaway!

Rented this beautiful home to escape the craziness of 2020 and spend some uninterrupted family time together - we were not disappointed! Everything we needed was on the hill! The house was clean, well equipped, and incredibly comfortable. We had a fire (either inside or outside) every night, relaxed, and took full advantage of the stunning view from this property from sunrise to sunset. It's so private that you can see every star in the night sky! The pictures really don't do it justice. We were up in the fall but I imagine it's just as beautiful in the winter and summer. The owner was super responsive to questions both before and during our stay which was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend and would definitely return!

Great Base for ATV riding in Colebrook NH.

Myself and 4 guys rented the house for a week. Very clean and well provisioned. We needed a place to park, sleep, shower, and cook but got so much more. The beds are comfortable and the linens are soft. The furniture is excellent too. And the views. Waking up to the views just energized us to get out and experience the Northern New Hampshire outdoors. Getting back from a day of riding, the mud room with multiple coat hooks, a helmet shelf, and an outlet for boot dryers was appreciated as much as having two bathrooms available. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking allowing the group cook to make hearty breakfasts before riding and delicious dinners after without having to bring a single pot, pan, or utensil. And when you want to sip a drink at the end of the day, this back deck is world class. Overall a super comfortable and clean place to stay. The owner responded quickly to any questions too, which is always very nice.

Best view in Colebrook!

We were looking to have a relaxing little family vacation, we got that and more. The view was unbelievable. Loved waking up and sitting out on the deck watching the sunrise. We had every single meal out on the deck just watching the amazing view. The house had everything we could ever need, it felt like we were right at home. We would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful with stunning views

This home is very private and the view is unreal! Our family found it very relaxing and enjoyable. We explored some local parks and hikes, traipsed around the property surrounding the house, built several campfires in the fire pit and generally enjoyed ourselves. Good escape.

Great place for a peaceful anniversary getaway

My wife and I loved this place. The view of the mountains and valley from the back deck is stunning. We had a great time watching sunsets from the deck, watching birds and insects in the meadows, and admiring the beautiful wildflowers. The property is secluded, private, and quiet, which is a nice change from apartment living. We explored the nearby waterfalls and lakes, grilled on the back deck, had a campfire, watched the Perseid meteor shower, and enjoyed pizza and bowling at the Strike Zone. The house is really lovely, with a unique hexagonal vaulted ceiling and an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows so you can take in the view even indoors. It's bigger than it looks from the outside, and it was nice having this size of place to ourselves for such a reasonable price. The owners had prepared a nice guide to local food and activities (and were very helpful when we arrived and had trouble finding the lockbox code). One restaurant tip: if you want to have dinner at the highly-rated Rainbow Grille & Tavern in nearby Pittsburgh, be sure to make reservations a day or two in advance. All in all, we'd definitely recommend this place for a nice quiet getaway for nature lovers.

A Gem in the Great North Woods

The pics don't do justice to Laura and Ryan's place! Amazing views and tranquility, the house fits perfectly into the landscape, with windows throughout and a surrounding deck that we spent hours on taking in the mountains and stunning display of nighttime stars. Clean and comfortable, with all the provisions you need, the hosts were responsive and available for any questions we had. Enjoyed poking around the area, with lots of hikes and lakes for swimming nearby. Colebrook's a stop-sign town, not a lot of places to grab food, but if you're looking for a gorgeous spot to get away - like we were - you can't go wrong here. Rick and Linda
