We have had the pleasure of staying here at least four times before. It feels like home more and more every time we go. Short walk to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. House is fully loaded and has everything. The host is awesome! Highly recommend you stay here for perfect beach vacation.
With four bedrooms and an open floor plan, this house had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay! Heather was very helpful too! The decks out back with ample seating were a great place for sitting in the winter sun and catching up with our out of town family members. We would definitely stay there again!
This was a great place a short walk to the beach. There is a big porch on the back with a sea view. Short distance to dinning and state park for hiking. Just remember to take bug spray if hiking. We love St George very quit and peaceful place to spend a week to unwind.
The property was so clean, everything listed as described and the deck was our favorite place to hang out with our family. I will definitely book this charming little bit of paradise again.
Loved the outdoor shower! Comfy beds, the deck is huge, short walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed playing Galaga & Pac Man. Heather was right on our notice that we were put of Cascade. We loved every minute of our stay. 5 minute drive to the state park
Shark Bait was a good fit for our group. There was just enough room for everyone to have some privacy, and the living room/kitchen area was pleasant. We ate meals at the table on the porch and at the kitchen counter. Our beds were comfortable and the bathrooms worked well. It was an easy walk to the beach and a quick drive to the shops on St. George Island.
We had a great stay at Sharks Bait!!! Everything was as it said in the description. The walk to the beach very short. The house was very clean with everything we needed. Heather responded quickly to questions we had in a very timely manner. We had a day of rain and wind because of the hurricane but it gave us some much need relaxing with a book. I would highly recommended this rental. Plenty of room for at least 8. Thanks Heather for a restful week!!!
This was a great spot for our family to spend some time on SGI. Perfect location with easy access to the Gulf and Bay sides of the island. House has an amazing outdoor deck area to enjoy the weather when not on the beach. Very well kept and clean house.
This was not a surprise and a benefit (imo), but it is a drive or decent bike ride to all the amenities of SGI.
Would 100% recommend.
My wife and I spent 4 weeks in Shark Bait. We had a great time, we love SGI so much and the weather was perfect. We went out to eat quite a bit (Paddy's, Blue Parrot, Beach Pit) but also fixed some meals and we had all the pots, pans and utensils we needed.
The home is located in the East Gulf Beaches and is near the 11th street public access boardwalk. We used a beach cart to haul our gear back and forth. the boardwalk does not have steps, rather ramps at each end. This made it easy to pull our cart to the beach.
We loved the deck, both the covered and uncovered sections. We spent many hours out there reading, working on puzzles, just relaxing. We ate some of our meals out there as well.
Thanks Heather for a great month.
This house was great for our long holiday weekend. By far the best thing about the house is the back deck. It’s clearly new and updated - has 4 sitting/eating areas, tons of space, and like-new. Half of it is coverwd and there’s 2 large tables to eat. The main flooring inside was replaced shortly before we arrived and still needed some tidying up but didn’t affect our stay. The island wasn’t put back together so two folding tables with bar stools was our only indoor eating space (not very practical) but we didn’t really have a choice. For the age of the home, it was generally very clean. Shower curtains were overdue for replacement. There is no garbage disposal and trash can is pretty small but we made it work. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend to others!
I took my children and their family to St George Island for our annual summer vacation. This is 2nd time that we have stayed in this rental and always fully enjoy our stay. Enough room for everyone to have a little privacy. Just a short walk to the beach. My son would load his truck with all our beach accessories and meet us at the walkway, just to keep us from having to carry so much since we take everything except the kitchen sink. My grandson is 16 and he would take the short drive each day to go down to the old bridge to fish from it. We felt very safe in this area.
My husband and I booked this property last minute to get away! We have a Labrador dog - she’s our “baby” - and we were so pleased we could bring her. The house is dated, but has obvious upgrades and overall it’s a great place. The bed in the master was very comfy, and televisions had Roku so we easily logged into our own streaming accounts at night. The beach is a SHORT walk away, and you can see the ocean from the front deck. We had anything we needed it there, from the bikes that we were able to ride on island trails and the grill and stocked kitchen. I was able to do a load of dirty laundry with the laundry soap left by the owner. I loved sitting out in the front deck and smelling the sea beeeze. overall - A really great place to stay!
We had a great time staying at the Shark Bait house. It had peekaboo views of the ocean and was a very easy walk to the public access. The house was super clean and communication with Heather was perfect and easy. We had fun putting together puzzles on rainy days and enjoyed lounging around on the porch, enjoying the breeze. The food in SGI is okay. Mostly bar-type food. So, it was nice to get some groceries and cook in a couple of nights and the house had everything we needed to do so. (Side note- the piggly wiggly had better prices and selection than the Sparks). And you have to get doughnuts one morning- but get there early (or go a little later and don’t wait in line) and take cash.
We stayed the week at Shark Bait. It was a lot smaller than I thought, but was plenty of space for us. Everyone had the private space they wanted and we had a nice common area to hang out. The deck is beautiful and you can see the Gulf between the houses. It's only a block from the beach. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing off, then we'd hang out on the deck and dry off before heading inside. Our dogs were very welcome on the island, including the two restaurants we went to. We felt very safe at the house. We did have an issue with seeing some palmetto bugs in the house, but when I told the owner she had someone come out the next day and sprayed. Palmetto bugs are a thing and they do get in houses. I appreciated the timely responses from the owners if I had any questions. It was a great experience.
