The Wapiti Rose, Your Gateway To Adventure On The Olympic Peninsula
Where the Mountains Meet The Sea There is no other place in the world that matches the diversity and the majesty of the Olympic Peninsula and there is no place better to stay and enjoy it then the beautiful Wapiti Rose Home.
Located on a private 5 acre parcel of land and hand built by a former Olympic National Park backcountry carpenter and trail builder this home is both a work of art and a tribute to the forest of the Olympic Peninsula. The home shows the love, care and respect of the natural environment that he maintained in the Park during his years of service.
Now owned by Jeffery and Sophia they hope to carry on his traditions and allow you to enjoy their home while they continue working and traveling.
The Wapiti Rose will be your home while exploring Olympic National Park and the surrounding areas of the Olympic peninsula.
At the Wapiti Rose the Olympic National park is literally your backyard. The southside of the property backs up to the boarder of O.N.P. The West Elwha River trail goes along the backside of our property and connects to other trails in the Park.
We are located just a couple miles from Hwy 101 and Hwy 112. They connect you to everything from the rain forest and beaches of the West end of O.N.P to the farthest most Northwest point in the continental the USA at Cape Flattery . We are also very close to Port Angeles, a major entry point to Olympic National Park as well as the gateway to international travel to Canada and Vancouver Island.

The house was perfect for our family to visit Olympic. It had several pantry items that were appreciated as well as fire pit, grill, laundry. Well maintained, comfortable and private. Also enjoyed the nearby trail!
Such a beautiful cabin tucked away in Olympic. Frank was very helpful in navigating a road closure.

Beautiful mountain cabim
Perfect secluded cabin in the mountains next to Elwha river. Very cozy, comfortable, clean and well-stocked cabin. King bed is amazingly comfortable. Great value as well. .
This cabin is indescribably cool! It had everything you could want and beautiful views. It is by far the nicest vacation rental that we've ever stayed in.
Great cabin. Very secluded and off the beaten track. The perfect location for visiting the Olympic National Park. Cabin itself was very clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!
This home was perfect. Very clean, comfortable beds, cozy areas for hanging out, and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The back garden was idyllic!
Beautiful home in an unbelievably beautiful location. The house is clean and comfortable and provided all the basics that we needed. Check in was very easy and communication with the homeowner was great. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again someday.
Wapiti Rose is a gorgeous home as are the views! It had all the things needed to cook meals in and relax after a busy day of sightseeing. A fantastic location to see all of the sights around the park. Highly recommend!
Have stayed in vacation rentals for a decade and this was the cleanest. Wood stove (and lots of dry wood inside already) and heaters made sure I was warm. Incredibly quiet. Beautiful property. Looking forward to staying again.
My husband and I enjoyed our two night stay. The cabin is close to Tongue Point, a beautiful place. The cabin was clean and felt cozy. Perfect for the two of us. We saw several black tail deer. We also saw eagles and a beautiful stellar jay.
Wonderfully quiet and peaceful with incredible views. Built with high quality and care. Well equipped kitchen. Nice little seating areas about. Great shower and upstairs bed. Downstairs is a double not a queen. We would definitely stay again!
My family of 4 (including 2 boys ages 14 and 10) stayed for 2 nights and our biggest regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The home is beautiful, both inside and out. We greatly enjoyed waking up every morning to breathtaking mountain views from the master bedroom windows.
The house is very clean, tastefully decorated, and well stocked (we had everything we needed). It was the perfect base for trips into Olympic National and Port Angeles/Victoria, B.C.
We will definitely return.
A few miles from 101 and 10 miles from Port Angeles, this served as a delightful home base for us exploring the OP from the Hoh Rainforest to the western beaches to the various waterfalls to Hurricane Ridge to whale watching to Lake Crescent to shops and restaurants in Port Angeles.
The house is beautiful, feels secluded and was very, very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals after shopping at Country Aire or Safeway. There are multiple areas to sit and gather both inside and out. Deer and elk visited several times. Communication with the property manager was excellent- especially when I mistakenly thought we had reserved an additional day and he graciously allowed us to leave later than check out time to make our departure. He and the housekeeper also facilitated the return of a laptop left by a previous guest. Thank you both. I would 100% stay at Wapiti Rose again!
The cabin and property are truly beautiful and the gardens and yards are well-maintained which extenuates the inspiring view but I would not stay here again in the summertime. The house has no natural airflow and many of the window screens need to be repaired (no screens on any door) so running fans and opening windows invited all kinds of biting bugs inside. Also, there was an issue with both sugar and carpenter ants which wasn't pleasant. The sugar ants were in every sink and the bathtub. At night, gnats congregated around the lamp in the living room then died by the morning and left a mess on the floor. For less than the cost we were charged for housekeeping, a portable AC unit could be added. (We were friends staying there -- one from Washington and one from Texas. The heat was almost unbearable for both of us.) There was some confusion around the trash cans but that was fixed while we were there. Also, the cleaning fee is high enough that it is up to you if it is worth it to take out your trash and start the laundry at the end of the stay.
Wonderful home off the beaten path with mountain view
My husband, adult daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wapiti Rose. Jeffrey was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Sipping coffee in the morning while viewing the mountain from the living room was a great way to wake up. The night sky was sparkling as viewed from the bedroom. The woodwork inside is gorgeous and the many windows allow you to bring nature closer with fresh air and views. We visited Hurricane Ridge, the Hoh Rainforest, Marymere Falls and Rialto Beach while staying there. We ate out several times in Port Angeles and our favorite restaurant was the Jasmine Bistro. We also enjoyed a couple of lunches in Sequim at the Oak Table restaurant. We would definitely stay at Wapiti Rose again!

Cabin and location amazing
We loved this mountain home. It was clean. Well stocked, cozy and roomy at the same time. There were lots of windows that gave a sense of connection to outdoors along withadeck. Details matter so water pressure and hot water were great. The king bed was very comfortable. Towels and linens were high quality. The o ly thing Id recommendiorecomfortable lounge chairs for relaxing with the view., but for others they may be perfect.
