My family and I really enjoyed everything about our stay! Cheryl was so helpful and easy to work with! We cannot wait to come back to make more memories.
Such a quiet location that reminded my dad of his childhood. It rained almost the entire time we were there (got to love hurricane season), but the house was so cozy and the time we were able to spend walking the property/surrounding area or down at the spring made up for it.
This wonderful home is off a dirt road, in the middle of fields with privacy! An outdoor shower, precious wrap around porch with tons of room. The home has SO much Space and everything you need! A claw foot tub, games, family room! This home is also located across the street to a natural spring! One mile down the road is another spring and a few more within 45 min! This place is seriously heaven,
This house was awesome! It is exactly how you see it in the pictures. Everything was so clean and organized. The property is just gorgeous. The sunrises and sun sets are incredible and the night sky is a star gazers dream. It is a wonderful place to come and just unplug from life and truly get some good peace and quiet. The owner was awesome to work with and is super responsive. Our family will be going back and we are looking forward to it.
Cheryl's lovely and homey farmstead experience is ideal for a family group or other. This unique home has multiple bedrooms and a pleasant front dining room, living room and kitchen.
This home is rustic and a real feeling of country. The property is remote and particularly appealing for nature lovers. Very close to Suwanee River and Ruth Springs.
We visited Ichetucknee and Gilchrist Springs and the Sante Fe River.
Cheryl is very caring and attentive. We are excited to return to this special experience!
This place is awesome. SO MUCH space for a family! Multiple bedrooms, living areas, and outdoor huge deck gives so many options, whether you want to be all together, or desire some alone time.
Cheryl was awesome to work with throughout, and even left us a watermelon in the fridge!
The place was so clean, Well-stocked, and so comfortable. It is rustic. You are ‘in the boondocks’. But the wifi and cell phones all worked fine. And it is super convenient if you are visiting the Springs in the area.
We loved it and would definitely go back!
This was a perfect house for our family reunion and the property is absolutely gorgeous! As soon as I saw this house, it immediately reminded me of my mom, who’s been in Heaven for the past 4 years. Upon booking, I found out the owner, Cheryl, was one of my mom’s really good friends. That was the icing on the cake!! The memories we made as a family are something we will all cherish for the rest of our lives. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be making this a yearly trip now. Thank you for everything, Cheryl! ❤️
We had such a lovely stay! I was blown away at how big the house is. There is plenty of room for a LARGE family, with multiple living spaces so everyone can spread out and relax. The early risers can get their coffee on, while the night owls can party out back. The house is perfectly situated, just a short drive to everywhere - or take a nature walk right from the front door. We saw deer, rabbits and crows every day. Grocery store is like 10 minutes away. If you are coming to visit our beautiful state PLEASE remember - Florida has some pretty extreme weather that can be unpredictable. Always make back-up plans, and dont take it out on the locals.
Tucked away in what feels like the middle of nowhere, the property is a perfect place to unwind and reconnect with family and friends. Location was perfect for accessing local springs and host was great about letting us know in advance that some areas were closed due to heavy rainfall. The rain prevented us from using the fire pit, but the covered area in the back and the porch were great places to enjoy the outside while staying dry. The house worked great for a group of 8 but the A/C didn't always keep up with all the people in the house. There was a minor was leak in the refrigerator and the coffee pot needs to be replaced but these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise delightful stay. If we ever decide to return to the area, I would happily book the property again.
THIS WAS THE BEST VRBO WE STAYED AT HANDS DOWN, AND WE DO ALOT !!! OUR HOST WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND TENTATIVE TO EVERY QUESTION WHENEVER TO HELP US GET TO KNOW THE AREAS TO HELP US GET AROUND. THE PROPERTY WAS TRULY SERENE PRIVATE AND ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING. WE CHILLED EXPLORED WETN TO THE SPRINGS, 1 OF WHIC WAS ACROSS THE PROPERTY AND ONE A MILE DOWN THE ROAD, AND ENJOYED TRUE QUALITY FAMILY TIME. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND WILL 100% GO BACK!! YES YES YES BOOK THIS VRBO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR THIS TYPE OF VACATION. IF YOU R LOOKING FOR CITY PARTY LIVING THIS IS NOT FOR YOUR LOL THIS IS TRUE TRANQUIL PRIVATE COUNTY LIVING AND WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT AND CANT WAIT TO GO BACK
It is a wonderful property but the only issue I constantly had was the a/c not working properly. The arrival present was the a/c broken; it was fixed later but the house never got cold in any time of day. Everyday when we returned from our excursions the house was at 80F +. The little units helped a little but be mindful that you will sleep with fans to ease the warm in the house. The owner was in every moment communicating with us but it's an issue definitely that the a/c they have is not enough for so big house. The property in general is more than well equipped for all your needs.
We had six adults, exceptionally clean, the living space is set up nicely for big family, to spread out or be together, comfortable furnishing, super cool tub in master bath, well equiped kitchen for meals, starter coffee , filters, bath soap ect, Comfortable beds. Back bedrooms together/share walls, separated w doors, Master split....Having 3 baths...awesome!!!We spent most of our time on the large covered porch when not at springs ( So many nearby 15-30 min)or cooking...plenty of seating, grill , ceiling fans , hope for a rainshower on the metal roof...so relaxing...we watched our pony graze and enjoyed the view(open land). Yard prob 1/2 or 3/4acre ,Prob 2 1/2 acre pasture w bahia , field fence, run in shelter, water w float. Only 1 neighboring house you can see but barely
Small local spring at the end of drive and across the shale Rd...we walked several times for a cool dip in afternoon, each time a few local people there..It was a holiday weekend and the big springs were packed..go early if you want to get in to the state parks(limits)
Communication with Owner was excellent, I needed her a couple of times w questions and she was gracious and timely..she also gave several excellent alternatives once springs were at capacity when we had a late start which was very generous
Good wifi and no trouble w cell service at house ...on shale Rd would loose service sometimes so get maps set before leaving..House is in a WMA lots of deer and stars at night. Stores about 20 min..Outdoor shower a must!!!Thank you for sharing your home ...we will definitely be back
We were looking for a place to take the family to "get away" and this was great! Hurricane Elsa put a damper on the sunny weather but we managed to enjoy a couple days at the springs and a lot of good, family time!
It is very remote but just what we needed!
The town had the most spectacular fireworks ...it is a small town so we weren't sure what we would see but it was great! No disappointments at all!
Our host was gracious, kind, and easy to reach. We hope to go again!
The moment we drove into this property we fell in love! It has acres and acres of open land and an adorable Ranch style home. The large wrap-around porch was our favorite spot.
Our check in was effortless and our hostess went above and beyond to welcome us with a cold watermelon, extra bag of ice and charcoal for the grill.
We were visiting the area to enjoy the Suwannee River springs and this was the perfect location.
We will definitely be returning!
We absolutely loved our stay on Cheryl’s property. We spent most of our time on the property lounging on the beautiful wrap around porch. The breeze and the quiet at all times of day were perfection. At night the wood surrounding the property lit up with fireflies. Truly magical. Great location near multiple spring...our favorite being Ichetucknee.
This property was in a very cool location right across the street from a small spring and within short driving distance to other springs and rivers for tubing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. There was not much else around which made for lots of stars at night. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with most essentials and there were plenty of beds for two families with a total of 7 people. Cheryl was a gracious host and was very communicative. Check and out was a breeze. Thanks so much!
We were pleasantly surprised with the home. So relaxing and private. It was truly what we needed to unplug and unwind. The area is beautiful. We will definitely be returning! Thanks for everything!
First I would like to say, Cheryl the owner is so helpful and polite. The house is unique, we loved the big porch and sitting in the rocking chairs and swing. Great for a big family, it might not be on the water, but then again you don't have to worry with little ones falling in. Ruth Spring is very close and never crowded, only with a few locals and within walking distance or with a golf cart or car.
The house has five bedrooms, one small with single bed, four bathrooms. Two dining and two living rooms. And a swing in one that we all enjoyed.Kitchen is big and beautiful cabinets and everything you might need. My Mother is 94 years old and the front bedroom and toilet was accessible with walker and wheelchair. Air conditioning worked great. We would recommend this highly and would go again. Thank you again Cheryl, The Stone,Anderson and Richardson family.

I’m Florida grown , a mother of four and a follower of Jesus . Raised with southern hospitality. I love being Born and raised here North Florida . Growing up in spring Diving capital of the world is definitely a blessing from God. I consider myself a country girl at heart . I have compassion for broken children, the elderly and single parents . My most favorite part of this life is being a mommy! This opportunity to rent our home is a dream I’ve had for many years finally becoming a reality .
Why they chose this property
The house has been on this property for almost 12 years now and the land was originally my grandfathers who was a farmer that raise 10 children. My father inherited this property . The land was used for farming peanuts ,watermelon , corn and many other vegetables . The springs that is directly across the road is called Ruth Springs but for many years the locals called it little sulfur. There are hundreds of acres of water management to hike and explore. If you bring a metal detector you may find some treasure since there was once a village in these woods And the town of Troy close by at one time in history. Troy Springs is a 1 mile drive away , A Portion of it is 75 feet deep and it’s loaded with history. Many cave divers travel from all over to this spring . If you love nature in history this home is definitely where you want to stay.
