Very nice decor, very clean, and comfortable beds-this was exactly what we needed for our stay in Portland. Also, reservation, check-in and out all very easy for this first-time VRBO user. Thank you!
Three of us stayed here on a quick stop in town. Would definitely stay for longer as well. The space was very comfortable. The rooms were a good size. The kitchen was very well appointed with plates, silverware, etc. We have a kid starting college in Portland next year. Will almost definitely book again
Games and toys for kids and babies were there, we didn't have time for them though. An umbrella for rainy days, and some sugar and tea was great to have when we came in from our late flight. We LOVED that the only thing they asked if us was to start a load of the towels before leaving. We tried to finish dishes too, but between our wedding duties(we were in town for a wedding) and the dishwasher not having water the first two days, we didn't get to finish that part. I didn't have time to sweep like I wanted either. So, I'm thankful they were gracious with the exit duties!Turns out the water under the sink was just turned off, simple fix, he came down within an hour or two to figure it out for us. But it took us a couple morning of waking up without the dishes being clean before we realized it.We loved our stay, the private entrance was great, I still need to message the host with a picture because the washer dry closet would have a puddle spilling into the kitchen every morning whether we did laundry or not. Not a huge puddle, just something to keep an eye on.I'm a germaphobe, but maybe check your sheets first... I went to tuck my boys in when we arrived at 2am, and there was a single short curly black hair in the very center of the bed, so that creeped me out... they slept on top of the comforter with the blankets we brought with us. We kept forgetting & running out of time to wash them. I know it's not white glove service so I'm not taking stars off,
Cozy basement two bedroom in Sullivan's Gulch neighborhood
Very responsive host and easy door code check in. We picked it because it's walking distance to where my mother lives in a senior complex nearby. The apartment is in the basement of the house that you see in the main photo. It has a very nice kitchen but when we got there, the place had a musty smell so we opened the windows a lot even though it was winter. You can also hear footsteps of people living above but all got quiet when it was time for bed and the noise didn't disturb us very much.
Funky neighborhood walking distance to Convention Centre
Well kept place in the residential NE Broadway neighborhood about a 20 minute walk from the convention center. Great coffee and restaurants in the hood say you want something different from the large chain hotels and their overpriced characterless food and drink offerings. Owners live upstairs so 'easy everything'.
This property was super cute and communication with the owner's was amazing! We had everything we needed before we even landed so there were no delays in our enjoying our time in the city! It is right next to public transit which made getting around a breeze. Great value and great price!
This property was perfect for our visit to Portland for a wedding. Easy to get to all tourist areas we were interested in visiting. Property was clean and perfectly met our needs. A little warm since there's no A/C and it was VERY hot, but there were fans provided so it was bearable. Helpful to have a washer/dryer, iron, hair blowdryer, and dishwasher. Only had trouble finding parking on one of the nights, otherwise we were able to find a parking spot on the same block. Had some laughs watching throwback Friends episodes on the DVDs provided!
Our stay was great! We stayed here only for one night, and it was a great place to come back to after a busy day of exploring Portland. The rental was very clean and secure, and it was the perfect amount of space for me and my friend. I highly recommend!
My partner and I were visiting Portland for a week. This was our first time staying in a VRBO and it was terrific. The train station was a short walk away with a bus station immediately in front of the house. The neighborhood was quiet with lots of good restaurants a few blocks away. We never had a problem finding close onstreet parking. The basement apartment was perfect for a homebase. Comfy, clean, and charming. It was nice to have the extra space and access to a kitchen and onsite washer/dryer. I wholeheartedly recommend staying at this property hosted by Omar and Amanda!
We enjoyed our stay in Portland, and the house worked well as a stopover point. The apartment is in the basement of an active family, and has limited ventilation, it could really use a small ac unit as we had to put the provided fans on high to cool the space down. Nice water pressure and plenty of ice from the fridge.
Overall nice experience.
We spent 1 night here and would definitely come back. It's close to one of our favourite restaurants (The Screen Door) and there are a lot of great places to explore nearby. The hosts were great to deal with and the place is as described. Very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
This was the perfect spot to stay while visiting Portland. The space was clean, modern, and had everything we needed to make our 5 night stay feel like home. The neighborhood is fantastic with tons of cool restaurants and shops nearby. We definitely recommend staying at Omar and Amanda’s place! Thank you!!!
Great location. Easy access. Close to downtown. We had a great time. Rooms were clean and quiet.

This place is so nice and safe: Omar and his wife created a sweet space near convention center. I am a female entrepreneur who needing to walk to convention center at 7 am in the morning daily. I felt safe walking there from this home. It was plus. Kitchen and washer were all great to have as well. Make sure to text or call Omar as this is Expedia connecting to other apps which Omar was sending messages. But I did not see any messages. I will be back to this space for sure. Thanks Omar
We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Check in was easy. The apartment was exactly as described, it was easy to find parking on the street, and we found it quite comfortable. If you are planning to do a lot of cooking you might miss some tools, but nothing that we couldn't work around. All in all, we would recommend staying here.
This property was clean, spacious and in a nice neighborhood. The property owner was very responsive and left a helpful binder on the kitchen table. Great home to stay in for families and friends.
This property is centrally located and easy to walk to downtown. Was able to walk to the Moda Center in less than 20 minutes. Lots of coffee shops nearby. Short ceilings as it is a bsement but not a negative. Omar was great and communicated quickly when askign questions. Perfect place to see what portland is really like.

About the host
Hosted by Omar Torres
Omar and Amanda met and fell in love in the beautiful City of Roses! They married in 2014 and planted roots in North East Portland. After purchasing their home in 2015, they liked the idea of creating a special place in their basement to host people. Omar is a real estate agent. Amanda is a special education teacher. They enjoy spending time with their two young sons, trying different ethnic food, meeting people from other cultures, and playing tennis.
Why they chose this property
This is a great, quaint and convenient place to stay as a home away from home. Public transportation is nearby. When hopping on the MAX, the Convention Center, Moda Center, downtown Portland are moments away. The walkability is excellent allowing you quick and easy access to wonderful eateries, bars, cafes, and boutique shops. We don't want to leave out our nearby ice rink in the Lloyd Center. If you are one who likes day trips, we are close to the freeway permitting a quick come and go as you please!
What makes this property unique
We have always loved our neighborhood (Sullivan's Gulch). NE Broadway has a plethora of things to do, but it isn't overcrowded with limited parking spots. The people are not pretentious, but very warm and very friendly. There is always something to do within walking distance. We are so thankful for this place!
