Quiet home on horse farm, halfway between Paducah & Wickliffe. Close to 60 & 286
Built originally in the 40s by my father-in-law for his new bride, this home raised my husband and his four siblings. The property has been owned by this family since the 1880s. It was a general farm, then a dedicated dairy farm until the early 1990s. When the dairy operation sold out, we bought the home place and some surrounding acreage. My daughter and her husband now live down near the barns and manage it as an equine facility. We live a few miles away. The Redhouse is between Highways 60 and 286, easily gotten to from highway 2532(County Line Rd), which connects the two state highways. The house has a Ring camera at the front door now. No cameras inside.

Once Again, we had the most Fantastic & peaceful stay @ the Red House. It was IMMACULATE & cozy. We enjoyed a much needed peaceful get away & were able to visit friends in the area. This was our longest stay & we’re very grateful for the washer & dryer so I was able to keep up with laundry. Jayna is the HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST!!!! We’ll be back.
My childhood friend and I met halfway to stay at the red farmhouse in the country! We both grew up on farms in iowa and we couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable, peaceful stay! We had everything we needed and enjoyed quiet walks looking at the farmland and watching the horses nearby. Would highly recommend. Host was very easy to have contact with and helped with directions which was appreciated.
The house was very clean and cozy and my husband really enjoyed staying here for the month! It was such a nice neighborhood. My children stayed a couple of nights and loved watching the beautiful horses. The owner was super friendly and prompt to respond to messages as well. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this house to friends and family!
i was in town for a visit with family and this house was perfect. it was big enough for family to come and visit yet gave me beautiful peaceful mornings to myself to enjoy nature. it had everything i needed
I went to Metropolis Illinois for an ASA Archery tournament when I arrived at the property, I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was very nice home. I would definitely like to stay there again.
Our group was in the area to visit family who live in Paducah. We only needed sleeping capacity, our meals and activities were away from the property, so we did not spend much time there. But it was lovely, quiet, peaceful, neat, clean. Worked well for our group of 3. Comfy beds!

Quaint red home near horse farm is exactly as the description in the post describes the property in an excellent manner. My children enjoyed having separate rooms and we were able to cook a full dinner and breakfast both days. If we ever go back we will surely keep this rental in mind.
We have been staying there for years. Always been a great place, great host and just an awesome place to relax and get back to nature. We will be back.
This was our third time booking this home on VRBO. We always enjoy our stay here, and this time was no different. It’s a very cozy home to stay in. We never spend much time here throughout the day since we always come up from Texas to visit family here locally, however we are here overnights. The beds are very comfortable, and it’s very spacious and quiet. They are pet friendly and since we never travel without our dogs, it makes it very nice to book here. We plan to return again next Spring.
This was a tranquil place to stay on a quiet country road. The surroundings were beautiful. We sad in the front and watched the horses play across the road. Definitely the highlight of our vacation.
Everything here was above and beyond nicer than home. Such a beautiful property and wonderful host. We loved it here! We enjoyed making breakfast in the kitchen which had everything we could need and Kiwi our pup loved the yard. Seriously would give this place 6 stars if I could. The house is beautiful and well cared for and full of cool historical details & decors. Thanks again for having us!
We love the "little red house" as we affectionally call it. Our go to for meeting half way. Thank you, Jane, for providing a lovely home for us to stay in.
My family loved staying here. It was quaint, quiet, well-stocked with all the necessities.
Jane was very communicative and we would love to stay there again with her. Being next to the horse farms gives the place a real charm.
This house was everything we needed. Me and three buddies were in town for the weekend and needed a place to rest our heads at night and also prepare a couple meals. The hosue was clean and comfortable and the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Definitely will be back next time we're around.
We have frequently stayed as this property while visiting family and it never disappoints! Jane is so easy so easy to work with, and is quick to respond to any questions. The house is clean and tidy. Beds are comfortable. The setting is beautiful. If you’re staying in this area I highly recommend.
This is a great place to stay. We have been here several times and will certainly return. Nice quiet rural location with simple country charm. Very cozy. It's one of our favorite locations to visit.
House was bigger than I thought it would be, clean with lots of little amenities. Loved having the space outside to play with our dogs. Very quiet area. The only hard thing was finding it in the dark, but we got there on a second pass.
The property was clean, quiet, comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and bath. Lots of room to roam outdoors, lots of parking and so private and serene. Just lovely!! Would definitely stay again when in the area!!
This property was perfect for our visit to Paducah and surrounding area- My husband (Illinois)and my sister in laws( one from California & one from Arizona)visited this area frequently when growing up- the little house was conveniently located but allowed them to be able to comfortable visit- the host provided excellent directions and communication was great! Anything you could have needed was readily available- would recommend highly and most certainly would stay again Pam
