Centrally located, Vineyard Haven just is across the harbor, 3 minutes by boat, or less than a mile by car; Oak Bluffs is a bit over a mile in the opposite direction.
A covered patio overlooks the dock and water, and an enclosed living room on the north side provides a cozy spot to read or chat while watching the waterfront activities. Theres a large fireplace in the middle of the house and common space for chilly nights. A small entertainment area provides a stack of games and puzzles, and a large screen TV when the kids need a break from the sun, and wireless Internet which can be reached throughout the house. The modern eat-in kitchen is in the middle of the common area with updated appliances is perfect for meals on the fly or an all day meal prep.
Adjacent to the deck, a stainless steel gas grill makes barbequeing a snap. A outdoor shower and open, uncovered deck in front of the covered porch which joins the dock makes for a lovely entertaining area for the evening. The first floor has a dining area for 8 (12 with leaves) makes dining a breeze. Three bedrooms upstairs (one king room and two dual-twin rooms) are up, and a main floor master provide great privacy for two families. Both bathrooms are on the first floor, along with a washer/dryer.
The dock and waterfront are a focal point of the house - with beautiful sunsets over the Harbor. It provides a real connection to the water the history of Martha's Vineyard. Watching the ferry alone come and go reminds you where you are and why you are here. You can fish from our dock or in a kayak or motor boat. Striped bass are present from early May to November. Bonito are present in peak numbers in July and August. Albacore show up in mid August and stay into October. A Whaler can be rented by the day or week from Martha's Vineyard Boat Rentals or a Kayak delivered from Wind's Up both in Vineyard Haven. Part of the property to the east is a small lawn that is kept as natural sea grass but is a great protected area to play or relax.
The property is adjacent to the Eastville Beach and also within walking distance of miles of walking trails in the MV Land Bank Conservation Land. Bikes can be rented and delivered from the Martha's Bike shop by the day or week, making it easy to enjoy the miles of safe bike trails on the island. Bike paths connecting Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, and Vineyard Haven town centers make getting around the island by two wheels a fun way to explore.
