We loved the Maude and York

This was our first time in York and we loved the location of this cottage home. We enjoyed being by the wiggly bridge and woods, and right by the harbor. My kids loved the backyard. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen had everything needed when we didn't want to eat out. The host was extremely accommodating and kind. Would recommend.

Old Home Charm in Quintessential Coastal Maine Town

This property maintains its old cottage charm in this Maine beach town. It was a great fit for our young family; walking distance to the beach, a spacious and shaded backyard, and a quick drive to all the essentials (stores, restaurants, etc). We appreciated having some of the basic essentials available to us (eg soap, trash bags), as well as use of the floats for the beach. For anyone looking for a sterile, brand-new rental, this is not the home to rent, it’s an older home with lots of character and charm that show the signs of many happy memories made here by the owner(s).

Great for family of 4

We had a very comfortable stay in this old cottage, located within walking distance to our favorite beach and Wiggly Bridge. Despite humid temperatures we were very cool at night in the air conditioned bedrooms and first floor. The upstairs bathroom suited our family well, and the kitchen had adequate dishware and cookware for our needs. If it wasnt for a refrigerator issue, which was just unfortunate timing for a rental week, we would have had a perfect week. Erin was very responsive throughout the week.

Historic Cottage

Landscaping needed attention, pot and pans not good, lock box was hard to open, road noise and car lights in windows made sleeping difficult.

Relaxing!

The Maude was perfect for my needs - the ability to work remotely but sneak away for a quick swim at the beach or bike ride during the day. The cottage is centrally located and everything is a short work or drive away. Definitely check out the Village Scoop Ice Cream Shop.

Fantastic location, host, and home

This place is in a great spot of York Harbor because of the access to the beach and to the Wiggly Bridge. I really appreciated the host's quick communication to all questions too. The house is very comfortable and made for a great vacation. Highly recommended.

Perfect August in Maine!

We have been coming to York Harbor for many many years so knew exactly where the house was, and the location could not be better. Very easy to walk anywhere and everywhere---from the beach to Bagel Basket. The house was super clean and we felt very safe and comfortable throughout our stay. Erin was a truly lovely host and we couldn't have asked for a better stay! Thank. you Erin!

Perfect walkable cottage!

We had a great stay at the Maude! The home was extremely comfortable (great beds) and had everything we needed with a well stocked kitchen. The walk to the York Harbor beach was only about 5 minutes and the drive to Ogunquit for dinner was only 15 minutes. Highly recommend!

The property was an easy walk to York Harbor and all of the shops. The house was excellent!

Perfect stay for our York trip. Updated with modern appliances, beds were comfy, the air conditioners was a welcome relief from the heat. The house was overall spacious and accommodating. Centrally located and even though it is on a main road the noise from the traffic was minimally and we even enjoyed the backyard. Thank you for hosting us!

Beautiful and comfortable home

We loved our stay at the Maude. My son told us it was his favorite of the vacation homes we have rented. It is impeccably decorated and very comfortable. It is very convenient to the York Harbor Beach and the Wiggly Bridge with access to Steadman Woods for some light hiking. It is on a busy corner, so the street noise can be a bit loud if you have all of the windows open. Even with the traffic, however, the backyard feels like its own private oasis.

Very attractive, well maintained, perfect sized cottage right in the heart of York.

My wife and I and our two children loved staying at the Maude. It was exactly what we had hoped for: a high quality vacation rental in a desirable location with all the necessary amenities. Sarah was very responsive to our questions and everything was ready to go when we arrived. Highly recommend this cottage if you plan to stay in York.

Fantastic stay

We had such a great week at the Maude. The location was perfect for all we wanted to see and do in Southern Maine. York Harbor is such a beautiful town, and we loved being able to walk to several different restaurants, shops and the beach. The house was very clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone and would love to come back someday!

Cute house close to the beach

We really enjoyed our stay. We love the area around York and have visited many times. This is the first time we rented the Maude cottage and we were very pleased. It's a good size for a family and the backyard is an oasis. Lots to do and enjoy nearby. York Harbor beach is a short walk away and it's a quiet family oriented beach. I would highly recommend a stay at the Maude!

fun vacation

We had a very nice vacation. The house was exactly as I expected. My email interactions with the owner were always very pleasant. Some of the walking distances were a little difficult for us with a 4 and 5 year old but besides that we really enjoyed the area, house and suggestions.

Great Summer Get Away

The York Harbor rental was wonderful! Every detail was thought of by the owner. There was even 1/2 & 1/2 in the fridge upon arrival. The cottage is decorated very nicely and is beautiful inside and out. The Charcoal grill was a great addition to the fully equipped kitchen. We were within walking distance to the beach and the inn for dinner. Over all it was a lovely rental! We will be back.

Charming Coastal Cottage

The home was simply lovely. It was well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is close enough to the harbor beach and surrounding restaurants that are located in this little sleepy town. I personally loved the ability to "shut off" from the hustle / bustle and work responsibilities. I also am very fond of older homes and this home I believe is from the sears and roebuck era!! The owner is responsive to your needs and very easy to work with. If ever I am back in this area, this would be my first go to rental.

Felt Like a Local in this Lovely Cottage

Our family of 5 (ages 15, 13, and 6) had a beautiful week in York Harbor at the Maude. It was quiet and peaceful, but conveniently located to the harbor and to Harbor Beach, to which we walked nearly every day. We were especially pleased to be out of the fray of tourists along Long Sands and Short Sands Beaches. The Maude was charming and well-maintained. It had everything we needed, though was missing one item we wished we had as we were there during the 2016 Olympics: cable. Certainly not a necessity, but as there was a TV, it would have been a perk to be able to use it. We had three particularly enjoyable outings during our stay: Rugosa Lobster Tour in Kennebunkport; Breton Fishing Charter with Phil Breton in Wells; and kayaking in Portsmouth. Some of our favorite meals were at the Clam Shack in Kennebunk (a delicious lobster roll); Barnacle Billy's in Ogunquit (unbeatable views); and, best of all, at The Central Restaurant in York (outstanding food, service, atmosphere). If you wish to enjoy Southern Maine without being shoulder to shoulder with other tourists, York Harbor and the Maude are a perfect fit.
