About this property

Luxury Family Entertaining Home Close to Beaumaris

Bryn Celyn is an ideal destination for large groups of family and friends. Enjoy the tranquility of the large gardens, sneaking glimpses of the Menai Straits and Snowdonia, or simply the delight of a large Victorian residence, refurbished to a very high standard.

Bryn Celyn Cottage sleeps 6 and is also available to rent to accommodate larger groups.

Enjoy time relaxing with all your party together, or escape into the numerous areas within the house.

There is an enormous conservatory where all of you can sit and enjoy the tranquil gardens and distant views.

The lounge has comfy seating for 10, an open fire, flat screen TV and Sky with all the main channels!

There is a separate formal lounge, with comfy seating and an open fire. We deliberately didn’t put a TV in this room so the adults could claim a space for themselves! Enjoy canapés before dining in the adjoining formal dining room.

Let the kids escape the adults in the snug with a flat screen TV, range of games, Xbox and Wii.

Farmhouse charm and modern features have been combined in the large kitchen/diner. Cooks will truly appreciate the range of facilities within the large farmhouse kitchen. We have often catered for large parties of 20+ and the kitchen has all the equipment that you would expect to do this.

There is a double range cooker, dishwasher, larder fridge and freezer and microwave. There is no need to boil the kettle as there is a Quooker tap over the double butlers sink. For coffee lovers, there is a Nespresso coffee machine, together with complimentary coffee capsules.

The kitchen table was made specifically for the house and we have regularly had 14 adults to dine at it.

The utility room has a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside there are gas and charcoal BBQ’s. The garden verandah also has a separate food preparation area, microwave and fridge/freezer.

Whatever the occasion, Bryn Celyn provides entertaining space on a grand scale. Enjoy the convenience of the kitchen dining table, dine under the stars in the conservatory, or enjoy a dinner party in the dining room.

Outside, there are two patio seating areas and a large verandah. The verandah has seating for 12 and is covered so you can dine al fresco whatever the weather.

Enjoy a glass of something special in the hot tub with friends whilst creating your own party!

Inside we have table football in the conservatory plus a large range of books, board games and jigsaws. There is an Xbox and a Wii with a supply of games and a range of DVD’s to suit a wide variety of tastes.

Outside there is a large garden with football posts, table tennis, plus a range of garden games to keep children and adults occupied for hours.

All five bedrooms have super king size beds with luxurious bedding and towels included as standard. The bedrooms are large and offer sufficient space to hide away and enjoy the views of Snowdonia.

The family bedroom has two separate single beds in addition to a super king sized bed. There is also an en suite WC, washbasin and underfloor heating.

The East bedroom is in its own wing of the house and has a flat screen TV, a separate dressing room, and an en suite shower room with hi level WC and underfloor heating.

The pink bedroom has double aspect views over the Menai Straits, Bangor and Snowdonia. The en suite bathroom has a high level WC, separate bath and shower plus underfloor heating.

The master bedroom has a flat screen TV, Sky and a DVD player.

All of the bathrooms are modern with a traditional theme.

The family bathroom has a stand-alone bath, rain shower, hi level WC and his & hers sink.

Downstairs there is a wet room and WC conveniently next to the utility room – ideal to wash down adventurous members of your group!

Bryn Celyn provides family entertaining fun on a grand scale.

There is Wifi throughout the house and a number of wireless speakers to connect your music collection to.

We provide complimentary flowers in the main entertaining rooms and all the bathrooms have complimentary toiletries.

August family stay
This is a beautiful , large property where you can feel relaxed to enjoy yourselves. It is well placed for access to beaches and Beaumaris. The host is friendly and welcoming . On the downside ( very trivial ) some of the furniture is very shabby , conservatory windows need a good clean inside and out, and carpets upstairs smell musty . The bedding, is lovely and most bathrooms are great . Thanks

Good Time
We had a great time with family, super house, but sadly very poorly maintained property and cleaning standards very disappointing. Sadly the level of cleaning would put me off going to this property again.

Family holiday
Very positive. Lots of rooms to spread out into. Lots to Do. The games room was perfect. The property was clean overall, just a few areas with too many cobwebs and some of the plumbing needed maintenance.

Family Break
This was in an excellent location there was 13 family members and 2 dogs at no time did we feel we were stepping on each other the property was spacious and well laid out. We took the 2 properties and both were well equipped. The dogs loved the grounds we closed the main gates most of the time and just let them run around on thier own.

Wonderful family house in great location!
Our family of 8 had a wonderful week at Bryn Celyn! We loved the spacious, well equipped house and had lots of fun playing football & cricket in the big garden and the hot tub was popular too! Langoed proved a great location close to Beaumaris, where we enjoyed the castle, gift shops, boat trips and the pier for crabbing! Our favourite sandy beaches were Llanddwyn Bay (Newborough Forset) and Benllech. We had great family dinners at Dylans and Tavern on The Bay, but we also enjoyed some lovely BBQ's down by the garden verandah at Bryn Celyn which catches the evening sun perfectly. We are taking away some lovely memories from this holiday!

Fantastic property for large family holiday
We travelled as a family group - two grandparents, their two children and their husbands and their four ‘children’ aged 15, 17, 19 and 20yrs. Also we had our dog, Ozzy. The property exceeded expectations; it is very spacious with all of the downstairs rooms and bedrooms being large. There are a number of different reception rooms so it is ideal for a larger group. There is a lot of storage in all the rooms upstairs and downstairs. The kitchen has good facilities for a self- catering for a larger group. There is a large conservatory extending across the the width of the property at the rear, overlooking the large garden, which is ideal for out door games, football, cricket, rounders , table tennis etc and of course the hot tub to be enjoyed. There is also a BBQ area away from the main house, with a covered area with outdoor dining furniture for all of your group and a useful large fringe in the building adjoining this area. The owner met us on arrival and gave us a comprehensive tour of the property, so we felt familiar with it before she left. The location of the property is about a 5 minute drive from Beaumaris and it is ideal for exploring the island and Snowdonia. The beaches on the island are fabulous, and there are many beautiful walks. Our girls partook in horse riding at Anglesey Riding Centre and we had a great time on a rib ride along the Menai Strait to Puffin Island where lots of seals were seen. We also had fun visiting Zip World which is about a 25 - 30 minute drive away. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful house
This is a beautiful spacious house which can easily accommodate a large group. The rear garden with it’s wonderful mature trees is fantastic for football and other sports. The main staircase and entrance porch are majestic and give the impression that this was a type of Manor House. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay and will cherish the memories.

Family celebration
Lovely property but needs improved maintenance. Suitable for family gathering especially with range of facilities provided internally and externally that suited all ages. However the standard of cleanliness was very disappointing and not in keeping with the price charged.

Property large and plenty of space for everyone, kitchen very well equipped. Headed out on lovely walks and to beautiful beaches. Beds were comfortable and towels for hot tub provided. Garden large and plenty of space for playing. Hide and seek in the house was great fun! Local shop in walking distance, Beaumaris a short drive away. Has couple of lovely gift shops. Had a meal at Tredici, lovely food! Golfed on nearby 9 hole course, kids welcome. Zip fun at zip world. Great to be away in such a beautiful spot.

Bryn Celyn was an amazing property in a beautiful setting.
We have just spent Christmas week at Bryn Celyn and had the most amazing time. My family and I loved the house. There was so much space and a lovely atmosphere. It was so relaxing, even with 4 children whose ages range from 3 to 9 years. I am sure this house is outstanding during the summer months and we hope to experience it some day.

A Wonderful week.
Loved the property. There was so much room for the twelve of us. Everything you could possibly need was provided. Rooms all very clean and comfortable and lots of different sitting areas for anyone who wants a little time on their own. The garden was enormous and there was so much room for our grandchildren to run about. Just a small point - they provide towels but I would advise that you pack a few anyway as there is only one hand towel for each bathroom. they do provide separate towels for the hot tub which was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a family getaway. Lots of easy to reach beaches and the delights of Snowdonia are only a short drive away. The countryside is beautiful. We'll be back!

Fabulous 'home' to spend a holiday
We all loved this home. We were met by Anne Marie and her delightful children, who showed us around the house. It was big enough for people to have their own space. It was very well equipped, everything we needed was there. The hot tub was lovely and great to unwind in. The grounds are spacious. Setting is excellent and Anglesey is an area we would love to come back to. We would all highly recommend this property.

Lovely, comfortable, spacious house extremely well appointed.
An ideal place for our once-a-year family get-together holiday. Plenty of room, always something to do for adults & kids alike available at the property - absolutely nothing missing! Coveniently near to Beaumaris, & being Anglesey, never too far away from excellent beaches or the mountains of North Wales. Weather for our stay was very variable but did not spoil our hloiday as we could always find something to do suited to the day.

60th Birthday Weekend
Wonderful, large, well appointed home swallowed up our party of 8 adults, 3 young children and 2 dogs. The modern Wintergarten was a real highlight. Good location with lots to do nearby: two fitter party members drove to, hiked up and down Snowdon, drove back and had a hot tub session on the Sunday in time for lunch!

Wonderful holiday home
This house and the adjoining cottage provided our large family group with exceptional accommodation. The fittings and decorations are of high quality and the two homes are really well equipped the owners had thought of everything. The hot tub and outdoor area for entertaining were fantastic. The living rooms and wonderful conservatory gave us plenty of space to spread out and relax. The properties are conveniently placed for the lovely town of Beaumaris and there is easy access to numerous beaches. We received a warm welcome from the owners who had produced a really helpful guide to their home and Anglesey.

About the host

Hosted by Anne Marie Groarke

Host profile image
My husband and I live in Cheshire with our two children, dogs and cats. We have always loved spending time on Anglesey with our family and friends. However, as our children's school commitments have increased, we cannot enjoy the property as often as we used to and as this is a property that needs people in it week in week out we now offer it for holiday rentals.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Bryn Celyn on first sight one week after our daughter was born. The house is grand, but has the warmth of a family home. We have enjoyed so many great weekends and holidays here ever since we bought it. Our children call it "the Big House" and often bring their friends and families along too. It is the relaxed entertaining scale of the house that makes it exceptional versus most other houses on the island.

What makes this property unique

We have completely refurbished Bryn Celyn and Bryn Celyn Cottage since we purchased them. All fixtures and fittings are of a high standard, yet the house retains much of its original Victorian charm and features.

The property is simply huge inside and out and provides great space for entertaining a large crowd without everyone feeling on top of each other - perfect for that special family gathering.

In wintertime the house provides far reaching views over the Menai Straits across to Snowdonia. In summertime large trees on the border of the property provide privacy to the majority of the grounds.
