Very unique house and wonderful time
Leaping Fawn Lodge is one of the coolest and most interesting houses I’ve stayed at. It was great for our 12 guests. Everyone had their own room, and there were lots of fun spaces indoor and outdoor to congregate. The Viking room in the basement was very fun. The location is a great jumping off point for visiting Asheville, Great Smokey Mountains, and many outdoor activities including hiking and rafting. The owner was easy to work with, helpful, and responsive.

The Views Alone Are Worth the Stay
My extended family chose the Leaping fawn lodge as our home away from home this fall and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house itself left everyone speechless with endless space and amenities. Our family really enjoys together time, so we spent most of our trip in the kitchen, the living room, and out on the back deck talking eating, and playing games. We didn't even get a chance to use several of the amenities but it was nice to have options like the hot tub, fire pit, and gym available. The house itself is not like your typical rental property in that it has character in just about every room of the house so don't go expecting modern hotel amenities, but everyone in our group was comfortable and wanted to stay more days as we were packing up to leave. The kitchen is well stocked and there were even snacks and bottled water when we arrived. Lastly, the host was super helpful and responsive and checked in via text a few times during our stay to make sure we had what we needed. The virtual guide book + the physical welcome book had so much information about the house and the surrounding area that we felt really well-informed.

It was our 50th anniversary and we brought our kids and grandkids!
It was a great house with privacy, acres to roam, and a large house to spread out. Our host Julie was a gem. She answered our every question promptly. The house had everything for the 19 of us ranging in age 4 to 69!!! It was centrally located to many towns and places of interests. I would highly recommend this house and would love to go with friends too! The only draw back which is waiting for repair was a huge swimming pool!! Otherwise it has it all!!!

The house had plenty of room for our 12 adults. Views of the surrounding mountain ranges are stunning. Plenty of privacy on their acreage and outdoor space around the house. Close to downtown Waynesville and Maggie Valley. Julie was very responsive. We are already planning our next trip!

Spectacular Group Getaway Property
We were in town for our wedding and had family stay with us at the property. It was a perfect venue with stunning views and enough space for everyone to sprawl out and come together! The owners of this property have thought of everything you need to feel right at home here. We were highly impressed with the thoughtful details in the supplies provided as well as the beautiful touches in the home. I really did not want to leave! Such a wonderful place for a group!

Great property
We were 3 families staying for 5 nights over president’s day. It was a wonderful property with many areas for the adults and children to explore. Close to downtown Waynesville and Maggie Valley, we thought the location was central but tucked away enough into nature. The kids had a blast in the secret play room and the bunk bed room. Very clean for such a big house. Julie is very responsive. Highly recommend!

Great Family Holiday Time!
Booked the property as an early family Christmas get together. The rooms in the house just kept going! All the room that we needed plus! Everyone was able to either be together or break up into smaller groups with ease. Lovely Christmas Tree and some other decorations up but not so much that we had to worry about disturbing them but enough to give us a great holiday feel. I've rented houses, mainly at the beach, for over 40 years and this was, hands down, the best equipped/stocked house ever, be it in the kitchen, baths, game rooms or bedrooms. Everything you could need was there. There was also a lovely welcome basket of snacks and large tin of cookies on the counter and coffees and teas to chose from. There were lots of attractions/activities within 30 minutes drive that could please a wide age range, which we had. Our youngest has special needs and he loved the hidden play room and we would find him there, on his own having a good time. We also found the special needs playground in Waynesville that Julie had mentioned and were very impressed with it. Made us wonder why every town does not have one. The downstairs "Viking" room was so much fun! Such a great, unusual theme that was lots of fun to play off....ie Viking headgear for all! I would highly recommend giving the house a look and a try! It was not only superbly well stocked but was also immaculate clean! They provide an excellent info book concerning the house and surrounding places but I did need some help with something concerning the range top and Julie gave me the answer I needed within 10 minues. Would highly recomment Leaping Fawn Lodge!!!!

Simply Amazing
I booked the Leaping Fawn Lodge for my wedding - not for the event itself, but as a place for the entire wedding party to stay for the weekend. The house comfortably slept everyone (around 20 people) and was stunning in every possible way - the incredible views in photos simply can’t to justice to the real thing! It was obvious that the owners had put work into putting small touches throughout the house, and checked in with us frequently - the hosts were the most gracious and attentive I’ve had anywhere. If you have a large group and are looking for a refuge in the mountains, this listing is an absolute no-brainer, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. To the owners - thank you for everything!

Tired Home
Lots of things wrong with this property . No blinds in Master bedroom? Vent hood in the kitchen dangerous . Everybody in the group hit it. Fridge in the Kitchen to small for large groups. No air conditioning kitchen area . Illegal bedroom down stairs with no windows or light receptors , several light receptors in home un useable. . Pool not working and covered, spa jets worked at 50%. Grill handles no marking and difficult to light . Faucets in upstairs leaking. No a/c in bedrooms and a portable that says does not work. Don’t lean back to fast on poker chairs. A paint job in certain areas Would help .You could not find a better property with amazing views and location. the house needs a bunch of TLC.

Spectacular views and gorgeous area around the house
My friends and I stayed here for a few days and we all LOVED the place. The beautiful views from the balcony on the 1st floor, the hot tub on the ground floor, very clean and good gas grill, a beautiful and big fire pit, two ponds with a lot of fish (and fishfood left in the pantry to feed them), Stardust (the property cat) which was a sweet cat hanging out around the house, we're all gonna miss it all. :) If we can plan another trip with all of our friends, we'll definitely consider this property again. P.S. Julie (the owner) was super helpful and responsive when we had questions about the house, thanks! :) P.S.2. The pictures in the listing is not doing the property justice in our opinion. In person, it is much much more beautiful than what you see in the picture. :D

Perfect Mountain Getaway!!
I cannot say enough great things about our stay at Leaping Fawn Lodge! The property was set up perfectly for our large group of family and friends to relax and enjoy a vacation away from the real world. The house itself accommodated our entire group very providing ample space for everyone to relax and not feel on top of each other. Our host Julie made the whole experience a breeze. Her communication prior to and throughout the stay made the trip run very smooth. By the end of the trip everyone was asking when we could book it again!

Spending time together
Julie the owner was very helpful prior to our arrival and responded quickly to questions I had. Upon our arrival we had a welcome basket, which was a pleasant surprise. There was also all the comforts of home, from laundry detergent, to coffee and the condiments. The location was great. The only things I wish were better was with such a big home and the many people that it can accommodate was the internet access was slow, but it was good not to be connected to the internet and instead connect with family and friends. The other thing was taking out our own trash to the recycling center (which was only 5 mins) but was a chore. The house had plenty of space for all of us and 11 kids 8 and under. The kids loved the secret play room and the adults like the game room, with the Viking Bar.

Amazing house and property!
This was by far one of the best properties I have stayed at. We had a large group of friends go for the weekend and we easily fit in all the rooms the house has to offer. We were able to find some nearby hikes but mainly just enjoyed hanging out at the house itself as it has so much to offer. This house easily fit our entire group and the kitchen was stocked appropriately with pots and pans so that we were able to cook all of our meals there all weekend. I also can not say enough good things about the property manager Julie. She was extremely responsive and helpful leading up to the trip and was quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall, we had an amazing time and absolutely loved this property with its breathtaking views and we are hoping to now make this an annual trip!

Great Mountain Home
We celebrated my sisters 50th birthday. The property was great. The main deck view of sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The house is just as described. Very spacious. It mentions an apartment which we weren’t sure about but when we arrived the apartment was connected to the house which was great. We arrived earlier than expected and since no one was there prior we Were able to check in early. The process was very easy and went well. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely choose this property again.

Our family loves to travel, exploring many unique destinations around the world, yet we are always drawn back to the Waynesville/Maggie Valley region in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina. After almost 20 years of vacationing in the area, we were at last able to purchase our dream home in Waynesville. We love the area and are excited to share our unique mountain home with visitors to this tranquil mountain region. Our home has numerous 5-star reviews, as we have rented it for the last 2 years under a management company. We decided to self-manage in order to provide a more personal guest experience.
