About this property

North Dunedin Woodland Sanctuary

This is a sunny, spacious, private apartment, with lovely woodland views. It's set in a quiet, no-exit street, just minutes drive from the town centre and the university. It offers a peaceful, secluded retreat in a beautiful setting.

The lounge area is roomy and comfortable. The kitchenette is simple, but set up well for basic cooking. The table is by the window and looks out onto native bush.

The bedroom is complete with a Queen sized massaging bed.

Please note that the owners live on site in a separate, entirely locked off area.

We are located a short walk from Chingford Park, which is famous for its beautiful historic stone stables. The Park setting was originally the home of a wealthy settler, who planted an extensive range of deciduous trees as a re-creation of an English estate. The original wooden dwelling has burned down, but the legacy remains. There is a frisbee golf course that covers most of the park, which is free, and fun to experience.

The other feature close at hand is Baldwin street - internationally renown as the steepest street in the world. It is two streets away from Montague Street (but rest assured, the gradient is much steeper there).

A little further down the road you'll find the quaint
Blacks Rd Grocer - a must visit for a coffee, or some preserves, sauces or seasonal fruit.

For a meal, you'll find the Japanese restaurant, Hana - or a bit further towards the Gardens, Filadelfio's (New York inspired pizza), or the Dunedin-famous "Beam Me Up Bagels".

Across the road from the supermarket is the Botanical Gardens, where at the right time of the year, you may also strike a free concert of jazz, brass or rock music on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
