Nostalgic kiwi crib, great views, easy beach access, hear the ocean sounds
Just what we needed after a busy two weeks travelling the South Island, with easy access to Dunedin in a top location with beautiful ocean views, and direct beach access. Children were skeptical about having no wifi or tv - was wonderful to see them enjoy life as it was in the ‘good ole days’ of kiwi bach simple living and many hours playing on the beach. Turned into a highlight for them. Wonderful to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the ocean. Thanks for sharing your family abode.
Was under impression there was Tv and wiFi but none. If you have kids addicted to technology could become expensive purchasing data. Photos are Cleverly taken, much smaller then we thought for 5 of us, though was in a beautiful spot and very clean. A dining table would make it much easier for people to sit at and eat as i i could not get onto stools to sit on small bench due to my disability, where stove top sits on bench so a bit dangerous for small kids if they were to touch hot stove tops or walking past and people place their hands on them . Lovely views, comfy spacious beds. I would rate it 6/10
An absolute gem. Comfortable, warm and with the most amazing view. Walks along the beach, glasses of wine looking at the beach. A hammock to relax in the sun. What more could you ask for?
Great position to the beach, fantastic views, property was comfortable and had everything we needed. Would have loved some binoculars to use, but that’s just me being picky
We stayed at The Crib for a week, it is a beautiful house with spectacular views. The house has everything you need, very comfortable and the property owner was easy to reach and communicate with. Also we checked out a little late and Sandy was more than accommodating. Thank you, would love to come back!
Was a fab stay at a lovely typical kiwi bach will definitely be back. Just wish it had wifi or a tv for those quiet down times after a day out at the beach. Great spot and just 1 minute walk to the sand.
Lovely cottage, with a perfect position to enjoy the views of the beach, and easily access the beach. We had such a lovely time, lots of beach walks, swimming, and exploring Warrington. And thank you for allowing pets. Even nicer to have a beach holiday when you can take the dog!
A beautifully located property with Amazing views. Cozy warm and Equipped with everything you need. Close to the city for activities. Masters bed was comfortable. Only small criticism would be it could do with a dust and walls wipped down.
Classic bach in an amazing location, incredible views of the ocean and right on the beach. 3 decent size bedrooms and kitchen had all the essentials. Super responsive host. Would stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with the closeness to Dunedin city. Weather was winter but was always something to look at on the beach including a wedding party's photos - the poor bride must have been frozen
Compact wee crib with enormous views- we really enjoyed being able to sit by the windows and look out to sea and sky. Tidy, well equipped kitchen, good heat pump, comfortable beds, nice selection of games (but note, no inside table for games or jigsaws).
This is a favourite place of ours. The location is amazing, and the crib is so comfortable. It has everything we need, and now there's the extra bonus of the new deck. I highly recommend it!!
What an exceptional location, best view of the beach in the area, you can see the whole length from the lounge, easy to heat, great deck space and outdoor furniture.
We came away with only a minor recommendations for the owners that was only slightly inconvenient for our family, to add a door handle on the front door as once its closed there is only key entry to the snib lock so once you head out to the front door you are locked out and having to go around the back door to gain access,
Also (for people with pets and small children) just a heads up; it does not have a secure section and you can walk through to the house behind, this cuased us to constantly keep an eye on our toddler but also felt we couldn't leave our dog outside unattended or if we went out for the day being outside was not an option, our concern was it would wonder to the next house and bother them or run away as their driveway gate was left open whilst we were there, However; having pets available to this house is great and we do not take that for granted so will bring a long rope next time
All and all we will certainly staying here again.
Thanks Sandy
All and all we will definitely stay there
Comfortable clean house with a stunning view of the beach made for a very relaxing holiday. The kids loved collecting pears and walnuts from the garden. Will definitely be back.
Great location, great accomodation. We were here for the SLSNZ IRB Nationals, no time for anything other than attend, sleep & repeat, we didn’t even get to cook or use any local faculties or attractions. Very comfortable would definitely stay again
Fantastic location and had everything we needed! Everything was well set up. Communication was fantastic and instructions were clear. the only down side was the place hasn’t had a good thorough cleaning in a while - carpets, furniture etc. It was great to have a washer, the new deck is glorious and overall it is a really beautiful bach and a really special spot. Would definitely come again

Why they chose this property
This property was originally purchased by the owners grandparents in 1933. The original house burnt down in the 1950's and the crib was built by the owners father in the late 60's. It is a special property to our family and has been enjoyed by several generations. We enjoy sharing our special part of the world.
