About this property

Located right on the waters edge this apartment has been designed to maximise the stunning lakeside setting! The unit is an older style home with quirky architectural style from the 90's. This is not your newly built fancy Queenstown rental but this doesn't stop you from experiencing the wonderful views with peace and quiet. The unit is also located close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shopping downtown, with only a 15min walk along the waters edge into town.

Featuring generous open plan living and dining areas ideal for indoor / outdoor entertaining.

A heat pump and fireplace (with a good supply of firewood) keep the chill off in winter and the comfy lounge suite offers a haven for you to sit back and relax.

The fully fitted kitchen is complete with everything you need to self cater. Appliances include; dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and large fridge/freezer.

Arrowtown - 17km

Apartment Layout:
Ground Level - Entrance, open plan living with 50" flat screen TV and dining area, fully fitted kitchen, balcony access.
Lower Level - Three bedrooms, configured as King, Queen and Twin rooms. Master bedroom ensuite, large family bathroom and laundry. All linen is included.

The unit is down a short steep driveway with stairway access to the units front door. If anyone in your group has mobility difficulties I recommend you stay elsewhere.
* Don't stay here if you are not able to carry your luggage down a large set of stairs.
* We have a STEEP driveway, due to living in an alpine town. We will not be able to accomodate Mini Vans, unless you are use to steep driveways.

We do have 1 Port-a-cot and High Chair available but you will need to bring your own bedding for the port-a-cot

Let the view take your breath away

The property has age on it , but the views and accessibility to town outweighs this .. Not good for people with mobility issues. But this is mentioned in the description of property.. absolutely loved our stay there and will definitely revisit again . Great amenities with a fabulous kitchen to cook in . Fireplace was a welcome comfort on cold nights .

Expedia should be held responsible not to put up such properties for rent and should provide me a full refund. Mould in bathrooms. Dampness on carpets, water mould on carpets. In accessible road to park car for a car. Everything in the house is old and stained. Holes in the wall covered with tape. I have pictures of how terrible the property is. Except for the view and fireplace rest was horrible. Had to go and buy my own heater for a room. What more can I say. Walls had dampness and smell of mould. It was a hazard. Leak from the roof when it rained in the living room Expedia is full responsible and should be help responsible. I could not move out as full money was paid.

The view is amazing!

Loved every minute of our stay in this beautiful house with lots of character. There is a path right in front of the house leading into town- the most incredible walk along the river. It had everything we needed and was very warm. Driveway is incredibly steep.

The view was picturesque, great communal spaces, rooms are well set up and bathrooms stocked. Only downfall was the driveway ~ very sketchy to drive in and out of. Would be hard for unconfident drivers. Almost missed it too. Other than that we couldn’t fault the place. One suggestion ~ if the property is listed as family friendly maybe have a small amount of toys. Again, just a suggestion

The view from the deck is incredible. You could stay there all day just starring into the distance. The houses accommodated the 5 of us perfectly. The parking of the car was a little difficult down the steep driveway but apart from this it was brilliant

Magnificent views

The property has the best views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There was plenty of room and kept us warm in the colder temperature. It is an older property that needs some maintenance and a deep clean. The driveway is very tricky to navigate as per the description, but we couldn’t find anywhere else to park.

Amazing view but that’s where it stopped. Beware!

Older style home and architecture which was great but the house is vey tired( it has said that in reviews so we expected it) but the cleanness was lacking. Something can be old but not dirty!!!!. The kitchen cupboards dirty and a mess,dishes just thrown anywhere. One fry pan only old and stained. Freezer needed defrosting The bedrooms all down stairs were damp and musty. TV difficult to use. Cobwebs everywhere on windows.Wooden outside table was broken and unsafe. Bikes unusable. Vacuum cleaner didn’t work only a dirty brush and another one broken. Told owner but just said cleaners would fix, we were there for a week 6 people it would have been nice to has vacuumed. The odd positive out ways the list of negative The cleaners came as we left and we had to wait for our car and they had left in less than an hour

Very disappointing.

The property is very dirty. There’s is mould growing in the tiles of the bathrooms and the linen on the beds and blankets/doona covers us threadbare. There was no cut kindling for the fire and only a very small blunt axe for us to cut it ourselves. Next door was rented to what seemed like a bunch of drunk backpackers making it unpleasant to be on the balcony (or In the house) and there was uncollected rubbish in the garden. My son found downstairs bedroom so dank he slept on the couch upstairs. No generosity in kitchen fit out and oven thermostat not working ( resulting in burnt food). Dryer erratic. Generally tired and could be so much better with only slight effort.

Queenstown!

We had a 6 night stay in Queenstown and enjoyed the time at this property. Everything was comfortable and quite convenient to town. Walks distance if weather permitted. Taxi's were expensive due to how busy Queenstown was at this time of year. Be aware that there are steep steps and driveway which are icy and a little dangerous with heavy luggage (as described in detail in the booking page). The lakefront and mountain views were stunning. I would stay again.

Quirky Queenstown with a view!

Absolutely loved staying in this quirky Queenstown house with a magical view! Plenty of room for all 6 of us. Well equipped and close enough to town to walk. Fabulous memories made :) we are extremely happy!

Stunning outlook

Perfect location for a Queenstown holiday, and spacious enough for our family of five. A well equipped kitchen made it easy to self cater. Would stay here again!

Views and convenience

There were only 2 of us and after we got over a couple small matters, namely; the multitude of cigarette butts in the fireplace (previous tenant’s bad but really should have been dealt with by the cleaners and not us) and low standard of cookware, we loved our stay. We had wonderful BBQs on the verandah with those majestic lake and mountain views - very special. The walk into Queenstown was very doable and healthy for us. For 2 people it was luxurious.

The view saves the day

The view is amazing. Interesting and beautiful in all kinds of weather and times of day. The washer and dryer worked well. However, there are some things I wish I had known before booking:The driveway is scary-steep, which the host does disclose when confirming the booking. If you are not a confident driver, you won't be able to do it. There are 41 steps from the covered parking to the front door.The house and everything in it look to be at least 30 years old. Some of the furniture and decorative accents are past their useful life. At minimum, new, thick towels and new pillows and bed linens would make a huge difference in guest comfort.

Family Stay in Queenstown

Stairs were not shown (How steep it really was). Had mould in rooms and was quite run down. Going down to the lower level to the toilet for everyone was not ideal. View and location were great.

Leaks!

The location of the property is fantastic and the description is generally accurate. However, we would never have rented this property had we known about the leaks in the property. It wasn't enjoyable sitting in the property during 2 days of rain. The leaks have obviously been there for some time and were known to the owner, causing damage to the floor and resulting in damp and mould downstairs. One of the bedroom heaters didn't work, nor did the electric blankets in the main bedroom. Overall, the property is quite neglected and probably worst holiday rental we have hired in New Zealand. We won't be coming back.

Beatiful views

Our family of five had a lovely stay here. The house itself was fabulous - so quirky and interesting. The views from the house over the water were absolutely stunning - watching Lord of the Rings (we’re visiting NZ so we felt compelled!) with the mountains in the background was surreal! Do make sure that you have read the description about the steepness of the drive - my husband managed it but I would not have been able to manage it!

Fabulous Views, amazing stay, great host.

The house was comfortable for our group, 2 parents, son and his friend. The views from the house are absolutely incredible, and we were blessed with the weather so had spectacular views of the lake and mountains every day. The house itself is a tiny bit dated, but this did not matter at all as it was fully equipped with everything you need, including a fabulous wood burner which kept the upstairs nice and warm. Each bedroom also had a heater and very comfy bed. The walk into Queenstown is along the lake and takes about 20-25 minutes, a lovely walk, with amazing views, there are several supermarkets and shopping area a 5 min drive away. Our host Cherifah was fantastic and so helpful, accommodating my extra requests. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone. Thank you for a fantastic stay and wonderful house.

Beautiful location

Stayed at this listing with groomspeople for a wedding. Beautiful lake front location with view and access to the lake by short walk. A great deck to enjoy also. Warm house with great heating an well stocked amenities and toiletries.

It is close enough to town but still far enough away. The unit feels like your hidden paradise and from certain areas of the unit you can feel like you are floating on the lake.
