About this property

Fully furnished, 3 bedroom Home away from Home our place has extra comfortable beds and a heat pump that will effortlessly keep you and your family or friends toasty warm in winter and cool in summer.

Perfect for a family holiday the kitchen is all set up and the open plan lounge has a 42 inch flat screen TV. If you are a Fisherman there is a filleting table with hose out the back and plenty of freezer space. You will also be walking distance to the newly formed lower pool that the locals are calling the new Honey Pot Pool.

Activities to choose from in the area include:

6 minutes drive from the Tokaanu geothermal hot springs (pools)

Lake Taupo beaches – eg: Pukekawa Bay is a great day trip

Climbing Wall – family fun and serious climbing

What a comfortable and well appointed home! It was an ideal base to explore the region and had everything we needed at an excellent price. We were happy to use our own linen and to vacuum and clean on departure. We'll be back.

Perfect house

After a struggle (probably due to homeaway system) we managed to book this house and what a find ! It was really good. Perfect place with our 2 yo. Children friendly and safe. She could run outside without the fear of her being hurt. I recommend !

One of the worst holiday home so far

We have traveled many cities in NZ and booked through bookabach. However this was the worst holiday home we ever stayed so far. When we checked in, the rooms were seems never cleaned and seems like a abandon home. Beds were full of dust. Its seems to us that they fully dependent on the previous guest to clean and keep the property well. The first thing we did was vacuum the house and clean the toilet fully before we start our night at the property. Under the bed there were spider webs and spiders, so imagine if this property would have been taken care of properly how this can happen. On top of that in the kitchen frying pans are all rusted and the toster and the kettle seems was not cleaned recently. We bought our own frying pan and cooking pots from Briscoes because we felt its norlt safe to use it. Even the sofa was dusty and the cushions were not clean as well. Overall it's not suitable for a decent family to live if you really need a holiday. After sleeping two days in the bed my mom and I literally got a bad ache for two days. I would like to request the properly owner that to make this place a better stay for visitors. Hope this review will help others. Thanks

Had a fantastic time. Family went flyfishing for the first time and caught fresh run fish.

About the host

We are a family of five that loves getting away to the out doors. We love all that Turangi has to offer as a family holiday destination. The river and lake fishing, mountain biking, village dining, skiing, hot pools and various other more touristy attractions. We use our place as a technology detox so no WIFI. It is time to read a great book ( excellent library in town)play traditional family board games and share conversation. We recommend walking down to the river and breathing the fresh air.

Why they chose this property

Look this is a family bach in every sense of the word. It is well maintained and nice an clean but we do expect you to have a similar holiday to ours. That does mean leaving the place as you found it, replacing what you use and disposing of your own rubbish. We are confident you will have a really awesome time in Turangi and our bach is a really great base. We love it when people see things that need to be done when they are there and let us know about it so we can see to it. Some really awesome people might even do a bit of weeding in the garden or replace a battery for us when they are there. It is all appreciated to keep the place ticking over and keep the price right down.
