Wonderfully responsive hosts, beautiful outdoor oasis
This home is converted wharehouse meets frank lloyd wright meets cozy mountain cabin. Tons of room outdoors to explore, including plowed trails! Not sure what the hosts would allow but there is lots of room for dogs, equine facilities, maybe mountain biking/quad, sledding, etc. And no noise or light restrictions! The hosts are wonderfully responsive and helpful. The only thing to be aware of is that the room with 4 twin beds is actually an open loft and could be potentially dangerous for those traveling with small and/or disabled children. This is a great place to stay if you want to be adjacent to LA, but not IN LA.

Get Outside
This is a great place to take lots of walks in a wonderfully scenic area. These hosts were amazing. Perfect kitchen to make dinner and relax. The fresh flowers were a nice touch as well. I wish we owned a horse. This would be the perfect place to ride. Before we left this morning we saw a whole bunch of deer.

Just Fantastic
This is our second time staying at this property and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. It is an absolutely wonderful place/experience. There's so much space and nature and you feel truly isolated (but aren't - the town is 25min away and the road is close.) The kitchen has everything you would need to cook anything - the beds are extremely comfortable, as are the living spaces. The check in is easy and the host is very communicative. We can't wait to come back and roam the property and enjoy the outdoors. Thanks again!

Amazing!
Everything was neat, clean and tidy. There was a lot of pots and pans and plates to use so there was no need for us to pack that. The property has a lot of open field to walk on but be mindful of where you walk because some parts can get muddy around the winter time. Doing the dishes was easy and they even have a dish washer. Overall great experience .

Perfect Family Getaway
My family and I stayed at this property January 28 - 31, 2022. I must admit that at first, I was very hesitant to book this property. I went back and forth a couple of months and finally decided to book it. My hesitation was due to the remote location. I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and booked this vacation. I took along my husband, my two kids (age 6 and 10), my parents, my sister, and our two dogs. The drive there was super easy, no big twists, turns, or drops like one would experience on the way to Big Bear. The house was very beautiful, clean, and well stocked with everything a family would need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, bath and hand towels, doggie food bowls and towels, as well as, a kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and serve meals. We of course took our own groceries and there was a Deli/Liquor Market very close by, where we bought ice cream for the kids! The property was absolutely fantastic. The kids and dogs spent many hours exploring the property and its trails. Unfortunately, we went on a weekend where the snow had melted away. There was some snow around the edges of the property near the forest, where the kids got to roll around. BUT we took the owner’s recommendation and drove up Mt. Pinos (35-40 minute drive) and it was a winter wonderland! Kids had a blast sledding down the mountain and making a snowman. Actually worked out very nicely, with not much snow on the property, we were able to go on long walks and explore the woods around. We even got to gaze up at the stars at night, with no city lights interfering, we had a magical sky to look at. And the icing on the cake, the kids were not glued to their electronic devices, even though the property had access to WiFi! We look forward to returning again next year. Thank you for allowing my family to stay, we created memories that we will cherish for years to come.

Mountain Paradise
This is a beautiful and quiet area. Our nieces brought their horses up and treated us to a fun carriage ride. Fresh mountain air, family, and horses. It doesn't get much better than that.

Quiet mountain retreat
Our group of 8 friends choose to spend a few days together in nature and Dave's home was exactly what we hoped for: seclusion, nature, tranquility, and a beautiful large home to spend quality time together. The home was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was spotlessly clean. If you have children they even provided a nice selection of children's books and board games. The owners were highly communicative and responsive and happy to answer any questions. There are some really nice walking trails around the property. We could not have asked for better hosts and a better property.

Wonderful quiet rural escape.
We had a fantastic stay at this nice home with amazing and attentive homeowners. The home was clean and welcoming. Entry was easy with gate and door codes. Since this home is rural and pet friendly my review mentions some things specific to such. If you want to be close to shopping, restaurants, or nightlife then this rental is definitely not for you. This home is more for those who prefer a quiet serene outdoors getaway free from city amenities and enjoy hearing pretty much only the sounds of nature. The few neighbors are wonderfully scant. A small deli with a very small market is about a 10-15 minute drive and for a bigger selection of stores or eateries you’d need to drive into Frazier Park itself. The house is unique in that it is actually built within a steel building. It feels very spacious and airy inside with great lighting due to the large floor to ceiling windows. The baths and kitchen were all clean and well appointed. There were clean towels, plentiful paper products, hand soap and a nice dispenser in the shower with soap, shampoo and conditioner. There were also plenty of pots and pans, cooking and eating utensils and even a Keurig coffee maker complete with a nice selection of coffees. If you have dog/s that are not diggers or aggressive explorers, (that may find an existing hole or dig their own hole under a fence), the property has 8 acres fenced with chain link. Be very careful and prudent however checking your dog carefully after each turnout for foxtails which were extremely abundant while we were there. We solved the problem by using booties and gators on our dogs which worked well but we still checked their entire bodies intensely after every outdoor caper. The homeowner also provided a couple of X Pens for confining the dogs to a smaller area which came in handy. The horse facility is amazing, clean and safe providing an indoor outdoor stall in a very large barn. There are some nice trails right on the property for hiking/riding created by the owners that meanders and crisscrosses their forested acreage. If more distance or elevation is your thing while hiking/riding there is plenty more up at Mt Pinos as well as the surrounding Los Padres National Forest. This is a great property with fantastic homeowners who love their home and are kind enough to share it. I hope every renter, especially the pet owners, are super responsible to care for and cherish this home so the homeowners continue to share it with us.

We can't say enough positive things about this wonderful place! Gorgeous house, spacious and comfortable. Total and complete privacy with 45 acres to explore and 8 securely fenced acres for our dogs to run free! The owner is extremely kind and accommodating. We can't wait to return!
