Aotea Harbour is on the West Coast, South of Raglan and a fifteen minutes drive to Kawhia and Hotwater beach (Te Puia Springs), just over an hour from Hamilton. The bach is located in Aotea Village right on the waterfront only 20 metres to the water with stunning panoramic views of the harbour and across the water are spectacular sand dunes and reserve. An ideal place for a lovely quiet getaway where you can go for long walks along the beach out to the heads, or trek further along Ocean Beach and dig your own hot pool in the sand at low tide. Bring your boat and explore the harbour or fish to your hearts content or set a flounder net. Horse treks are available locally. Great winter retreat or summer family beach holiday, with safe swimming or have a go at catching a kingfish from the beach. This three bedroom bach has most modern facilities and appliances.

Beautiful spot and everything you could need for a relaxing stay! Owner was very helpful, place was clean and tidy. We loved looking out on the dunes and harbour form the dining table/lounge. Magic!
Awesome, true kiwi style bach. We had a range of ages from grandparents to kids and we all loved this remote spot right beside the water! House is well equipped, great place to stay.
This gorgeous bach on the shores of Aotea Harbour is an absolute gem. We had the most amazing stay, swimming in the harbour, afternoon drinks watching the sunset from the balcony and walks along the Aotea Walkway. A truly special family holiday in a very special spot.
Comfortable old style bach with mostly upgraded conveniences. Located on the edge of the village and on the water"s edge, it's a great place to unwind. Would definitely stay again.
Loved our stay at the Bach! Was so relaxing, great location, and cozy home. Would defo stay again, and even come back with a group as the house is set up with heaps of beds. Thanks Ginni for sharing your home.
Great location! Clean, loved the multiple beds and layout of the living area and deck. Perfect to sit and watch the sunrise and set.
Fished off the rocks straight across the road.
We had a lovely time in Aotea staying at this bach and Ginni was great to deal with, good communication. Kids loved walking across the road to fish off the rocks at high tide and playing in the sand and rock pools at low tide. Caught snapper up off the beach. We will definatly be coming back :-)
The owners are awesome people and very helpful.
Very relaxing spot with amazing fishing straight out from the bach, lots to explore and a great playground just down the road. Locals very friendly.
Only 12 minutes into Kawhia Shops.
Memories to last.
Thankyou
What a fantastic spot for a family holiday. Sittin on the front deck we had amazing views of the beach right across the quiet no exit road. House had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. The layout of the bedrooms and front lounge area was perfect for relaxing. Plenty of parking. Owners communication was fast pleasant and helpful. Would definitely come back. Many thanks for making our family Christmas special.
What an awesome batch! Great place to just get away. Good swimming for the kids and a short walk to the playground. The batch has everything you need except for the use of the washing machine but there is ways around that. Locals are super friendly and the sunsets are beautiful. Thank you for letting people use your amazing batch in paradise.
A great Kiwi Batch, timely & easy communication with property owner, who was very helpful, everything that you need at this batch, great swimming a few steps off the batch deck, beautiful views to have with coffee every morning, very peaceful. Will definitely be returning to Aotea and staying in that batch. Loved it.
Beautiful kiwi Bach in the perfect location, can’t get much closer to the water!
The kids could play down the beach while we relaxed on the beautiful deck.
Easy to communicate with owner, kind enough to allow early check in and late check out to accommodate our guests who traveled a long way for our wedding!
100% recommend this house for whatever the reason of your stay!
What a lovely setting and an awesome area. Loved our stay here. A classic Kiwi bach. Quirky lay out - bathroom downstairs and 2 mezzanine bedrooms. Not for tall people as v low ceilings in those bedrooms and bathrooms! Accommodating hosts. Recommend
Lovely quiet spot with beautiful views! Bach just the perfect little getaway for us, I was surprised to see we couldn’t use the washing machine and wasn’t too sure why... all in all we loved our time at this beautiful west coast spot! Thanks Ginni

This is a truly magical place to stay - the location and the bach itself - has everything you need to get away from the rat race and simply relax.
We enjoyed our stay at Aotea, it was a nice location and neat to be able to walk across the road to the water and see the pretty sunsets. It was also really great to be able to take our two small dogs. The neighbors were all friendly too which was nice. If you walk down the road to through the gate toward the mussel farm, you can get really good reception for Vodafone :) We understand water restrictions and were careful with usage but it was a bit of a pain not being able to use the washing machine when the guys came home with fish smelling clothes haha! But at least they did catch fish without much hassle! :) Something to remember if staying in summer. The view from the deck and lounge is really lovely. Thanks for having us!
