About this property
Historic 'Connage' in the centre of Battery Point
Summary:
Welcome to 'Connage' positioned in the best location, right in the heart of Battery Point and sleeping up to 8 guests. Walking distance to everything worth visiting in inner-city Hobart and only a 10 minute stroll to the ferry which takes you straight out to MONA. Enjoy evenings in the courtyard with a BBQ or grab a meal at one of the many nearby restaurants. Off Street parking included - a bonus in the historical village!
The Space:
'Connage' was built in 1876 and named after a place in Inverness-shire in Scotland. For much of the 20th Century up until 1980, Connage was the residence and office of the Battery Point Police Station - the sign can still be found attached to the front door.
Since its police days, the property has been converted into a comfortable home and features 4 bedrooms furnished to sleep up to 8 guests. Featuring 2 bedrooms downstairs (QB in each) and 2 bedrooms upstairs (one with a DB and one with 2 x SB - perfect for kids) the house suits a large family, couples sharing or a small group. Hydronic heating throughout will keep guests toasty warm even on the coldest Hobart nights.
The large dining area peaks through a servery window into the kitchen which is decked out with a full commercial set-up ready to whip up meals at home.
Outside is a large dining table for 8 complete with outdoor kitchen.
Connage is decked out with art and memorabilia from its past lives and makes for a memorable stay in beautiful and central Battery Point.
Take advantage of the off-street parking available for the duration of your stay.
Connage is complete with wifi access and a washer and dryer for laundry.
Guest Access:
The entire house will be made available to guests, apart from one upstairs bedroom which will be locked as it is used for storage.
The Neighborhood:
Battery Point is filled with history, tree-lined streets and heritage properties. Its proximity to central Hobart and all its attractions make it the no.1 spot for visitors to base themselves. Nearby Hampden Rd is filled with restaurants, Pubs and boutiques or wander a little further into Salamanca Place, where the popular market takes place each Saturday. Da Angelos is a favourite with locals, both dine-in and takeaway.
Getting Around:
Walk to all inner-city attractions from the house - it truly is in a convenient location. For those travelling with a vehicle, there is off-street parking behind the property.
