Clean. As described. Beautiful nature all around you. Close to market. River at your backyard with Kayaks available!. Will definitelycome again. Highly recommend
This cabin is amazing and has everything you could want for any season. The owners have done a great job keeping the cozy feel of a rustic cabin, but with all the modern amenities. The small town of New Castle is just down the road and has a surprising amount of food and supply options. The area is perfect for anyone wanting to explore in the woods. Both long treks and short hikes are right around the corner. And if you are looking to just take it easy, the fire pit, creek deck or huge covered outdoor area are all perfect. Could not have asked for a better place to get away with my little family.
Loved the secluded area close to the creek. Enjoyed the firepit on the chilly evenings. Loved the morning sunrises coming over the hill too.
The Cabin was super cozy and full of options for enjoying the great outdoors
We met our eldest and his family for a long weekend in New Castle, VA. The cabin was in a beautiful setting along a creek very near Jefferson National Forest. It was clean and well equipped; beds were comfortable. We enjoyed outdoor activities - canoeing, fishing, hiking - indoor games, and nearby restaurants. Our host was attentive, informative and responsive.. Definitely recommend.
The character of the property and the helpfulness of host Sonny made this stay as great as we could expect. We stayed just days after Hurricane Helene hit the mountains and as such the area had no power on the first day.
Sonny reached out immediately to let us know the situation and helped provide flashlights and water. Fortunately the power came on the next day and we were able to enjoy the wonderful property and home. Very quaint and rustic.
This cabin was the perfect place to end our vacation at. The adults could sit on the deck and watch the kids splash in the creek below, then a nice fire pit in the evening for marshmallows. The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfy! Stocked with anything you could possibly need. Sonny was incredibly nice and helpful, and he made sure we had everything we needed plus some. We will be back!!
We decided at the last minute to take a little family vacation and booked this cabin with Sonny. It was exactly what we needed, and exactly how it was described. We knew we made the right decision as soon as we turned into the driveway. The house is stocked with everything you could need, the fire pit was amazing, and the little waterfall into the river was beautiful. There was a little farmers market in town that we lived. Swinging Bridge restaurant is a must for dinner. The drive there helps you realize how far up into the mountain you are. Drive slow, the turns are sharp and the cliffs are high. We had an amazing weekend and would absolutely come back!! Thank you Sonny!!
A lovely, luxurious log cabin, with deer and cardinals and luscious tomatoes in the yard!
We had a wonderful 5 days in this beautiful home. Dinner at Pine Top one night, lunch at Swinging Bridge in Paint Bank, tour of Greenbrier Bunker, visit to Fenwick Mine area and Roaring Run iron furnace, walk along the rail trail between Commerce/3rd St and school, mosying around the New Castle log houses, hotel and courthouse , and enjoying the area. Thank you, Sonny. Loved your bouquets of fresh flowers! Carol and Lee
I cant say enough about this property. It was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed! Food country was right down the road for groceries, beautiful creek. Plenty of kayaks, canoes, Life vests, great place to have dinner outside, i was so happy here and was sad to leave! Perfect cabin getaway and i would highly recommend staying here as we will be back! Fishing was great too which is a hige plus for us!
This was our second time at the cabin, and our stay was just as enjoyable as the first. Sonny is a warm, welcoming, thoughtful host who continues to improve an already dynamite location. We'll certainly be back for more visits in the future!
The location of this cabin was perfect! Don’t bring anything extra, Sonny already has it!
The creek was so refreshing and kayaks were provided! The fire pit was used every night as we sat and relaxed. The gas grill was wonderful!!
The beds were so comfortable with beautiful decor. The bathrooms were lovely, the big shower was so inviting!
This is a special place. Nice cabin on a beautiful property with a river running through. Pet friendly. And the owners are so nice. Very responsive. We needed to check out a little later and they were gracious in accommodating that. Would stay again for sure. And so close to the triple crown trail heads. Great weekend.
Stayed for graduation weekend at VT. So wish we’d discovered this property 4 years ago!! The log cabin is set on a serene piece of property with many activities (horseshoes, corn hole, fire pit, kayaks and more!) to entertain the whole family. The picturesque creek and rustic out buildings were the perfect background for our son’s graduation photos. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and located just outside of Newcastle, making grocery runs or a trip to the local coffee house/bakery convenient. The hosts were excellent with their communication and hospitality.
The property is so beautiful. It was stocked with games for the kids, a fire pit with wood to roast marshmallows and a dock to (attempt to) catch fish. My family loved it.
Very cozy and clean cabin for a weekend getaway in the mountains. Quite and private cabin that is well maintained and equipped with all the essentials. Loved the fresh cut flowers in the kitchen.
