About this property
Mr Watson's Cottage near the Battery Point Jetty
Summary:
Experience your time in Hobart by basing yourself in one of the historic 'Mr Watson's Cottages', originally built to accommodate workers from the nearby shipyards in the mid 1800's. A quaint space featuring 2 bedrooms, an outdoor courtyard, fully equipped modern kitchen. Bonus off-street parking in what was formerly a horse and cart lane behind the cottage completes this gorgeous experience in picturesque Battery Point.
The Space:
Whether you are interested in history or not, come and base yourself in one of Mr Watson's Cottages only steps away from the Derwent River in Battery Point. This divine little property is an immaculate example of what was known as 'row housing' built in the mid 1800's. You will be a guest in one of the 4 conjoined cottages, all well preserved and nestled one block away from the waterfront.
The space itself consists of 2 x bedrooms, both furnished with queen beds. An open plan living and dining area allows guests to dine at the table or relax on the couch. WiFi access is complementary. A modern kitchen is equipped with all the basics to stay in and prepare a meal. The bathroom features a shower (no bath) and is equipped with a washing machine. Unwind outside on the deck chairs with a glass of red, or better still - walk down Derwent Lane and to the end of the jetty for some salty fresh air.
The cottage comes with an off-street parking space, however it is best suited to small vehicles.
Guest Access:
The entire cottage is yours to enjoy privately during your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Battery Point is Hobart's most desirable suburb and offers stunning architecture, picturesque streets, restaurants, cafe's, parks and playgrounds all within walking-distance. Salamanca Place is a 10 minute stroll, the MONA ferry 15 minutes walk and the CBD 15-20 minutes walk.
Getting Around:
