About this property
Workers cottage on Wellington
Summary:
Understated charm, this 3-bedroom cottage in central North Hobart built in 1880 is a true treasure with stories to tell. Just five minutes walk from North Hobart’s Elizabeth Street strip lined with restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés and shops, and a 25-minute walk into Hobart CBD. Ideal for a family, or getaway with friends, the fully renovated period cottage features a sunny outdoor deck with BBQ for alfresco dining.
The Space:
Retaining its period structure, the home’s high ceilings, wooden panel walls and floorboards remind you of a time gone by.
Light and bright, the central open planned kitchen, living and dining area has warm tones and classic features with leather couches to retire to, and a fireplace to gather around. The space includes a large breakfast bar for meals, and a split-system for convenience.
The three-bedroom home has two generous sized rooms with Queen beds, and one bedroom with a single bed, making it ideal for a family or friends on a Tassie getaway.
Large, modern bathroom with separate shower, freestanding bath and plenty of storage space.
Double glass doors from the kitchen open onto a spacious outdoor deck complete with outdoor setting and BBQ for cosy nights under the stars.
Guest Access:
Guests have full access and private use of the entire property during their stay.
The Neighborhood:
The home is located in a quiet neighbourhood, close to the cool restaurant and eateries of North Hobart’s Elizabeth Street.
Pancho Villa’s tasty Mexican, café Born in Brunswick for great coffee, The Winston pub, and newcomer European-style bistro, Ogee all come highly recommended and only 8-10 minutes walk from the property.
Experience all Hobart has to offer, just a 25-minute walk from the property, or jump on a bus with stops on nearby Argyle Street.
Getting Around:
Use the well connected Metro Tasmania bus services to get you around town. Neuron and Beam Scooters are available to rent via apps, as well as Taxis and Uber, or you can rent your own car. Hobart airport is just 20-minute drive, and the MONA ferry terminal is a 30-minute walk or 5-minutes by car.
Other Things to Note:
If guests wish to use the wood heater, they will need to supply their own wood. Firewood and kindling can be purchased in bags from the local petrol station.
Interaction with Guests:
Please note I will not be available in person during your stay. I have a management team in place to assist guests with any questions or issues which may arise during their stay
