Welcome to Palmlodge where the ripple of the river below, and the
bird song is your morning wake up call, You can now choose how
your day will go, perhaps just relaxing with a cup of coffee, and the latest
paperback. as you take in the vista from the front deck.
Or visit the many attractions in Paihia, Boat trips to the outer Islands
scenic flights over the Bay. fishing off the sandy beaches swimming
and sun bathing. Visit the next town and take a Steam train ride
through the town of Kawakawa. or take a waka trip up the river
and learn some local history.
After all these exciting things that you may have done there are
cafes and restaurants for you to enjoy lunch or Dinner.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was a lot better and bigger than we expected! For our stay, everything was clean. The only note about cleanliness is that while the bedding/towel was clean, it did seem dusty… maybe suggest bringing your own towel / pillows for comfort. Another point was that I struggled to get into contact with the host and didn’t receive any confirmation/check-in details in the days before the booking. The morning of the booking, I only just managed to get into contact with her, in which she didn’t know that we were coming (although everything was ready for us). However! She is really welcoming and pleasant… I believe there is just miscommunication on Vrbo’s part. Her phone number wasn’t available directly on the booking however I asked the help chat for it (although note that this is her personal mobile which she doesn’t have with her all the time & also you MUST CALL). Other than these points e.g. uneasiness with communication in the beginning & somewhat dusty bedding, this spot is well-worth your money. Views are incredible and location is superb - it has everything you need.

Disappointing stay

We used the stayz app to write to the host to check on the floods from the cyclone before our stay but got no response until I phoned. Host greeted us on arrival & showed us around as she lives next door. After returning from dinner, noticed house full of spiders & cobwebs with crickets & cockroach on the floor. Towels in bathroom were also stained. Very unfortunate. Had to depart after 1 night.

Lovely view

Nice view, comfy house. Easy check in and lovely host. We were unaware how close the host and her dogs live. But it wasn’t an issue. Great stay. Thanks for having us.

Great winter break

Lovely home with a caring, helpful host. Enjoyed the expansive views across the river valley. Not far from Paihia by car and Mr Google easily found the way. All day sun with a great deck. We were looking for a restful place to stay for a few days and it ticked all our boxes.

Beautiful view but very disappointed

We had a great time visiting the Paihia area and the house was beautiful with the most breathtaking views. However, we had some major concern about cleanliness and how often the house actually gets cleaned. It was difficult to get hold of the property manager prior to checking in. I have since reached out to make her aware of my concerns with the house and have yet to receive any acknowledgement or apology. The property manager / assumed owner also stays on the property with you effectively sharing a house. She stays on the one side that is accessed via a door in the house. She was very quiet and it didn't bother us at all, but it would have been great to know that at the time of booking. Overall we enjoyed our stay and made the best of it, but they seriously need to consider regular cleaners.

Best getaway ever. Awesome place to wait for a storm.

Our arrival time was right in the middle of a serious storm warning. Our host contacted us several times to ensure our safety before arrival and upon arrival. This lodge is way better than the photos provided. I will be promoting this to my best friends and would definitely like to return. The sewing kit was an awesome touch, even though it wasn't needed. I can't rate this high enough.

Lovely location

Great location, beautiful views from the balcony and could be an awesome property to stay but it was let down by the cleanliness unfortunately and needed some maintenance on some bits too. We had to wash plates and cutlery etc before we could use them. Only half of the lights worked in our bedroom, one of the hobs on the oven didn't work and the coffee machine was a bit blocked. Also the water at the property tasted dirty (unsure if that was due to the area), so we had to buy water from the supermarket and was a little dubious to wash clothes

Great family home

We have a great time staying here. The view was amazing and house is kid safe. My 3 year old was running around and jumping and i didnt have to really worry about him. Margret is an amazing host and just 1 call away. She was acctually right next door which made it handy and easy if we needed to ask anything.

Lovely place to stay!

Modern, clean and spacious. Lovely and quiet and fantastic estuary views. Sky TV was a bonus. Nice neighbourhood.

Nice location and house

We enjoyed our visit but felt it should be stated more clearly in the description that the owner lives right next door. Due to both flats being connected via a door noise traveled both ways and it didn't really feel private. Prior to check in I had some questions but couldn't contact the owner via phone as this wasn't part of the contact details via bookabach. My messages were not answered which created some unease about the booking. Bookabach Helpline via chat was useless.

Relaxing weekend away

We had an amazing wedding anniversary stay at this property, the house is beautiful, and the view from the deck is stunning, you won't regret it, so much better than a hotel.

Idyllic getaway just 5 minutes drive from Paihia

We loved our stay. A beautiful deck with a view over to Waitangi in the east, and great all-day sun. A comfortable, clean and relaxing place to stay. There's lots to do nearby with Russell, Paihia, and Kerikeri all in short driving distance.
