About this property

Farm cottage in peaceful setting

We have upgraded and redecorated the cottage while retaining its 1950's charm. It has a woodburner for winter stays and we never run out of firewood. All the beds have electric blankets. The master bedroom has an ensuite toilet. You will love the peace and quiet and the views across rolling farmland. We do our best to meet your needs and ensure you have a pleasant and comfortable stay. Please note that cellphone reception is poor in our area.

great escape for a few days
The cottage was lovely, clean and spacious with plenty of crockery and cutlery. The beds were all comfy with good linen, the garden was spectacular despite the very wet and somewhat cold weather, but the fire made up for that.

We often travel as a small group to sports events here and internationally, this was about 25 minutes from our venue and a pleasant commute, lovely setting, very well cared for property. Wifi and shower could do with modernising.

Malcolm and Anna were lovely welcoming hosts. The fire had been lit and the cottage soon warmed up. The facilities were good and while out in the county it was not far from Fielding. Certainly need a car. We had an event to attend in the area and it was really ideal. Would stay again

Peaceful Rural Stay
Older farmhouse with a beautiful garden with lots of character. Peaceful farm setting but close to Feilding. Great wood burning fire to keep us warm and a well equipped kitchen. Great place to get away from it all as the internet is patchy. Comfy beds. Water pressure is low, as expected for an old rural house. Malcolm and Anna are great hosts.

It was great in that it is a property that has 2 houses but the owners weren't home. they had left the front door open which allowed us to stay with some home comforts like a log fire and hot water and cooking facilities. I did try to call them but no answer, but we were very impressed with the condition of the house and the instructions of how to get the TV working. All up it's not a 5 Star hotel but I'd have to give it 4.5 stars and very comfortable and a very convenient half way stop between Rotarua and Wellington which is a long drive. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Our return visit to this property confirmed all of our suspicions - both the hosts and the accommodation are simply superb. The hosts are remarkably friendly and thoughtful and the house is a real gem. A wonderful time capsule in the beautiful and peaceful part of the Manawatu region. We cannot recommend this more highly.

Perfect get away
First. My husband and I could not get over how clean, neat and tidy this house was. We still talk about it. A great place for our family. The hosts were incredibly accommodating. The lack of cell reception was really nice to get away, Wifi made up for any communication lacking. Likely to return.

I am pleased that I was not visiting in the winter … house is very 60s and everything is a bit tired. However, it was lovely to leave everything behind and literally be off the grid while there. Lovely garden and area.
