The cottage is set within the Huka Huka Toroa Reserve, on the Banks Peninsula in the town of Little River. The township itself features a historic railway station home to the Craft Station Cooperative, which sells local produce, art, and crafts.

Perfect

If you are looking for a rural stay in a beautiful bush setting on a private property with nothing but the sound of the running water from the creek in front of the cottage, then this is the perfect place for you. Cottage is smallish and cooking limited to BBQ on deck, ( but who wants to cook with so many great cafes to choose from and such a wonderful filling brekky provided) the bed super comfy, hot great shower, absolute peace and quiet and delightful owner. Chooks and gots add to the. Charm of the property. cottage has a myriad of small thoughtful touches that make it very special. Spoil yourself and stay for a couple of nights ! DO go on a harbour cruise at Akaroa and explore Little River ( lovely little community) but take away LR pub pizza - worst ever)

Little River Cottage

We had an amazing time at Little River Cottage. After a very difficult work life over the last 3 months my husband and I just wanted a quite little place to be to just enjoy each others company. The Little River Cottage definitely provided that. We will definitely book again.

Little Treat

A lovely wee spot to relax for a night or two. Breakfasts were wonderfully prepared and delicious. Has everything you need and more to keep you occupied through your stay. Note the fireplace is an electric one but heats the room efficiently. Thank you both!

Peace and quiet

This is the perfect place for getting away from everything. The cottage is very comfortable with a view from the bed onto lush forest. Open the sliding door and you can hear the stream. Books, games and other activities add a nice touch and help one to really relax. The breakfast was lovely. The hosts ensure guests' privacy while being available when needed. Will be back for sure.

Beyond words

This little place, with its own waterfalls and bush walks, snuggled into the sounds and smells of NZ bush is as good as it can get of you are wanting to feel peace, tranquility, closeness to nature, care of the environment. Beautifully presented with thoughtfulness in every detail. You must spend 20 minutes on the Shakti mat!

Gone Bush

We had the most relaxing time, with the sound of the native birds and creek as the soundtrack to our weekend. We felt like we were far out in the bush, miles from civilisation, yet we were only 10mins from Little River. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed, toasty warm, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.
